Venom: Faces contorted with fury, some of the Muslim demonstrator who marred the homecoming of the Royal Anglian Regiment yesterday

Daily Mail UK:

Home from the war… and our troops are greeted by abuse from Muslim protesters

By Michael Seamark, Andrew Levy and Matt Sandy

Twice in two years they have fought in Iraq. Twelve of their regimental comrades paid the ultimate price there and in Afghanistan.
Over the past two years they have spent day after day patrolling hostile territory, where every passer-by could have a gun or a bomb.

So the 200 men of the 2nd Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment perhaps had a right to expect a heroes’ welcome yesterday on a homecoming parade through Luton.

Instead, they were faced with the hate-filled jeers of anti-war protesters waving placards saying: ‘Anglian soldiers: Butchers of Basra,’ and ‘Anglian soldiers: cowards, killers, extremists.’

There was a furious reaction from the hundreds lining the streets to support the soldiers – known as the Poachers. Shouting ‘scum’ and ‘no surrender to the Taliban’, they turned on the Muslim demonstrators.

Police were already out in force to protect the anti-war group and arrested two men among the soldiers’ supporters.

Last night the mother of David Hicks, a captain with the Royal Anglian Regiment who was killed in Afghanistan in August 2007, called the protests ‘extremely distressing’.

‘I felt very saddened and extremely upset,’ said Mrs Hicks, of Wokingham, Berkshire. ‘I also feel a little angry. I think every mother or father who has lost somebody in Afghanistan or Iraq would feel very difficult about this.

‘It’s very easy to tarnish all the Muslim community with the same brush, but I do wonder, if the roles were reversed, if such a protest would be allowed in a Muslim country.’

muxpro5

Gordon Brown condemned the protests and ministers and senior politicians branded the demonstration ‘insulting’ and ‘sordid.’

Shadow Secrewheretary of State for Defence Dr Liam Fox said: ‘This is offensive, appalling and disgraceful.

muspro4

‘It is only because of the sacrifices made by our armed forces that these people live in a free society where they are able to make their sordid protests.’

Luton South Labour MP Margaret Moran called for an inquiry into the way police handled the incident.

She said: ‘Calling people baby-killers and the rest seems to amount to provocation of the worst kind when these lads and lasses have risked their lives for the freedom these people enjoy. It seems to me this amounted to huge provocation and was potentially racially divisive.’

But the Muslim protesters were unrepentant. Teacher Sayful Islam, self-styled leader of the Luton branch of al-Muhajiroun – the now-banned radical organisation led by Sheikh Omar Bakri – said: ‘The anger has been rising. The parade was the final insult.

‘They have killed, maimed and raped thousands of innocent people. They can’t come here and parade where there is such a Muslim community. What do they have to be proud of?’

The battalion is based in Germany, but Bedfordshire is one of the areas it recruits, along with neighbouring Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Trouble flared as the soldiers marched to a meeting with the Duke of Gloucester, the regiment’s colonel-inchief, and local dignitaries.

He said:’ The anger has been rising up. The parade was the final insult.
‘They have killed, maimed and raped thousands of innocent people. They can’t come here and parade where there is such a Muslim community. What do they have to be proud of?’

Leaflets urging Muslims to demonstrate against the soldiers’ homecoming had been distributed around Luton earlier in the week.

Under the headline ‘Criminals’ it railed against the troops’ ‘audacity’ at marching though the town centre and accused them of having ‘blood on their hands.’

mazpro7

It read ‘Muhammad said :”He among you who sees a munkar(evil) should change it with his hand. If he can not do that , then with his tongue(by speaking out against it)”.’

It finished with the words:’ We urge the Muslims of Luton not to stay silent against these murderers of Muslim men, women and children and to do what we as Muslims have been obliged to do and speak against an open evil.’

Police had penned the protesters into a small area and two lines of officers separated them from a large number of local people, waving Union and St George’s flags. At one point a man climbed onto a roof and threw a packet of bacon at the Muslim group.

Bedfordshire police said the Muslim protesters were later ‘escorted from the area to a safe place to disperse’.

The force said last night: ‘Everything that went on will be examined and if any offences have been committed then we will arrest them.’

An Army spokesman said the battalion, which is due to take part in a similar march in Watford today, was ‘deeply touched’ by the strong support shown by the people of Luton.

He said: ‘There is no better boost to a soldier than to see hundreds of people turn out to watch them on parade.’

  • That one dude

I have never known why people feel the need to protest against their own, especially when it comes to military protests. If the military did something within their own country and the citizens didn’t agree with it then yes they should protest but, to protest against people who fight for you when your too pussy to even enlist fuck that shit. Those muslims don’t have to live their. If they hate it so much get the fuck out or deal with it. You made the choice to be there. Ya I am going to say it I don’t agree with war but, I will give my full support to anyone who fights for me. Those people deserve respect from their peers. Muslim or not.

  • Johnny Doe

Keep it up, boys. You’ll be next.

I’ll bet the Tommys were pretty scared of those ninja chicks, though. Yikes.

  • Roland

I see that they parade with bayonets fixed. I give them great credit for not giving in to the temptation for one last bayonet charge into the jihadis, but then I would give them equal credit and enjoyed it more if they had.

    • http://www.dirtydozensbunker.com Sanders

I noticed that, too. A good hog killin’ would go a long way toward humbling those goat-raping howling headbanging moonworshippers.

I don’t recall ever marching with fixed bayonets during my time in the Army Infantry.

  • TechnicalDeath

Those British troops should have shown them who the real cowards, killers, and terrorists were.

Great Britain, wake up from your slumber and seize the day from the Muslim naysayers! Allahu Snack Bar!

  • Johnny Doe

    “Allahu Snack Bar!”

    That’s pretty funny right there.

Lionheart, a conservative British blogger who lives in Luton, has posted more info. about the radical Muslims there. He writes, in part:

“If these are the actions towards our military you can imagine the contempt they have for our police, then that leave[s] the rest of us, so you work it out for yourself how things are for the everyday man in the street.

“We get arrested for just talking about them!!! The protected species in modern Britain.

“At least the military can be in no doubt now to just how serious things are on the ground here, take a read through the pages of this blog which will give you a better understanding….”

From the bottom of my heart I thank you for posting this link. FINALLY I have faith in our Brothers and Sisters of Great Britain! The video that Lionheart posted shows how the Brits handled the scum mohamadians.
The Brits chased their asses out of the parade route. The police were beginning to panick because the British people were about to lynch those fuckers!!
Thank GOD ……..ENGLAND IS NOT DEAD!!!  :gun: :gun:

  • billie500

Is Luton becoming a “no-go” area?

A “self-styled leader of…the now-banned radical organisation led by Sheikh Omar Bakri, said:…’They can’t come here and parade where there is such a Muslim community….’”

  • Johnny Doe

Gotta be honest here. Folks in Britain are royally screwed. They live under a nanny-ass socialist surveillance state, but they can’t even deal with the local Sharia-pushers? HEY. ENGLAND. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS. ARE YOU SOCIALIST, MONARCHIST, PRO-FREEDOM, OR JUST A BUNCH OF CONFUSED COWARDS?

  • dave m

Not reported in this story but reported on Brit radio, the
crowd attacked the muslims, the police had to intervene to
protect the muslims. There were injuries and a couple of arrests.
The bbc seemed to play it as the attack being due to
    “white males”.
I guess the purple females held back.
I’m reporting this because since I work over there, I realize
there is a huge amount of common sense spread throughout the
population. Their media is as bad as ours and you don’t get
to hear anything against the P.C. agenda. They don’t have
    anything like Fox News.
Reports of their surrender are unfounded.

    • RC

Truly how long can the Al Beeb continue to be THE muslim mouthpiece and advocate of all things socially regressive and divisive in the UK and also beyond? It shown nothing but contempt for the men and women who serve and ultimately allow it a public voice. It’s quite obvious the side its chosen to represent is nothing short of treasonous. The BBC and also elected public/local representatives are in hell already, they sold their souls and social conscience and decided their course long ago. All that remains is for that hell to become a living bloody one, be it when British natives reclaim their homeland from these muslim scumbags, or if cowardice prevails, the C’Wealth collapses and every Brit succumbs to mooning the sky five times a day.

It’s difficult to predict at the moment as to which side will be victorious, such is the PC lunacy that has that isle (and much of continental Europe) in a grip – but here’s hoping the British terrier awakes from its stupor and drives these lazy ungrateful savages and their socialist guardians into the channel. It’s that or the UK becomes another Lebanon.

There are signs of resistance.. but will it continue to grow is the real question?

  • TerryTate

Good restraint by the young soldiers as they marched on by, especially considering how one could slip and fall, accidentally impaling someone with the fixed bayonets.

    Hey, it could happen.

I hear it rains a lot in Great Britain, and its awfully slippery when it rains.

They are just marching along, they slip, they don’t mean to stab you, but you get a little overzealous while protesting and things happen….

    Badda boom, badda bing.

OK, we have tried to bring these savages into the modern world. I think it has failed. They are a threat to civilized human kind.

You want to understand the fruits of unending tolerance? Go to New York, The Pentagon, Shanksville PA, select embassies in Africa, Somalia, Afghanistan, Bali, or ride a bus in London.

I work over there. Despite their media being worse than
ours, if that is even possible, there is a huge resevoir of
common sense throughout their population. At times even their
media have to recognize that fact.

Here is one of their biggest newspapers, The London Times
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/leading_article/article5891253.ece

in their headline editorial about what happened:

    Tolerance and the intolerant
The Islamist protesters against British soldiers espouse a perverse ideology and abuse the liberties of a free society; the liberal State is entitled to defend itself

The Islamist demonstrators in Luton who this week barracked soldiers returning from Iraq have been widely described as anti-war protesters. That is a big assumption. Their banners carried slogans including “Muslims Rise Against British Oppressors” and “Anglian Soldiers Go To Hell”. A local MP has claimed that they were linked to al-Muhajiroun – a now defunct organisation that applauded the 9/11 attacks and sought the establishment of a theocratic Muslim state. The protest appears to have been organised by a splinter from that group called Ahle Sunnah al Jamah, which promises more such events.

Whatever their formal affiliation, it is a reasonable inference that the protesters are not anti-war but pro-war. The war they favour is the one being prosecuted, in various parts of the world, by theocratic terrorism against open societies – and also closed ones that adhere to a different form of religious observance.

While the virulence of the Islamists’ case consigns them far beyond the fringe of public debate, the notion that the Western democracies are at least dismissive of oppression against Muslims is surprisingly widespread. In the past 20 years, the United States and Great Britain have fought military campaigns to restore the sovereignty of Kuwait against Saddam Hussein’s imperialism; repel the genocidal aggression of Slobodan Milosevic against Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo; and overthrow the oppressors of Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Islamist extremists thus talk not some errant and zealous form of liberation theology: they talk complete baloney.

Moreover, the Islamist hostility towards the West is only incidentally about Western foreign policy, or Israel’s security policies in Gaza. It is at root an atavistic hostility to the principles of choice, pluralism, secularism and – consider the targets of the Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005 – mere sensual pleasures such as social drinking. As Osama bin Laden disclosed in an interview in 1998: “Every Muslim, the minute he can start differentiating, carries hate toward Americans, Jews and Christians: this is part of our ideology.”

The Muslim character of the world view of the Luton protesters is also selective. It demonstrably does not represent the mainstream opinion of British Muslims. And the protesters are far from being consistent in their supposed concern for their co-religionists’ welfare. The massacre by the Taleban of the Shia Hazaras in Afghanistan elicits no protest, because the victims were of a supposedly heretical branch of Islam.

A liberal society by definition enshrines the right of dissent, and the freedom of speech and assembly. The response of politicians to the Luton protest has been, in the main, apt and lacking in platitude. The protest against the Anglian Regiment was grossly offensive to civilised opinion, but that is no reason for curtailing the right of protest. Freedom to offend is precious. Though the protesters may be uninterested in the point, the Armed Forces that they abuse defend the liberties that they exploit.

But there is a question about how far a bigoted, xenophobic and insurrectionist minority can reasonably expect tolerance. Voltaire never said that he would defend to the death the right to utter an exceptionable opinion. And it is a mere truism that even in America’s libertarian political culture, speech may be abridged when there is “clear and present danger”.

Al-Muhajiroun was banned because it glorified terrorism. While that legislation may appear expansive, it expresses a liberal impulse. The disaffection felt by groups that seek the overthrow of the State, and campaign for the defeat of Western forces in battle, is more than dissent. A liberal state cannot be a state unless it has the means to defend itself.

    ————————————————————-

I’d say they are waking up. Maybe a little late.
Better a little late than never. Also, France to rejoin
    Nato. Cautiously said, Welcome Back.
