    BTW to any young folk who have a little land, advice from a friend of mine a few years ago is…

    500 acres planted in Long Leaf Pine tended carefully for the first 5 years will make a fortune in 20 years. The grass has to be regularly mowed the first 5 years because they don’t grow as much above the soil during that time and are susceptible to damage from fire.

    His experience was as 4th generation 80,000 acres private timber.

    I mean really…I love trees and get quite uncomfortable when there are none around. So far in my journey around the planet earth, trees are plentiful… And I am always planting more…these people need to spend some time with some Marines in Afghanistan…serving them some coffee or something…GEEEEZZZZZZZZ :roll:
