Second Amendment May Provide For Obama Army
When Obama was campaigning last year, he uttered the following, on camera, in front of a large audience :
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
Although the media largely skipped it, the shocking comment made the rounds on alternative media sites and radio. To my knowledge, he was never publically asked about it. Rahm Emmanuel, his chief of staff, openly discussed it, and bragged about the “voluntary” mandatory service, training, barracks, civil service “training,” etc.
The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, passed the House by a 321-105 margin. I believe the Senate just voted against cloture. This means that, for all intents and purposes, this bill will become law.
I know what you are thinking. Surely this is unconstitutional, right? Maybe not. In fact, Obama might have a good argument that it is constitutional. How? Under the Second Amendment?
The amendment in question reads as follows:
“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
If Obama puts this under governors, or under some organizational leadership that can maintain the “militia” claim, he can make the argument that his security force is a “well-regulated militia,” that it is “necessary to the security of a free State,”
and that their rights to “keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
This might be how Obama and Dead Fish Emmanuel plan to implement this “security force.” If so, their argument is elegantly simple. I will have to do more research on this, but it may be specifically allowed under the Bill of Rights in the Second Amendment.
In my opinion, Obama, probably already has four of the five votes he will need should this matter make it to the Supreme Court, which it almost certainly will. That means, all he needs to perfect national control at the street level is . . . one supreme court justice. A single black robe. One unelected bureaucrat.
I suggest you reread my “I am a Student of History” essay [which Pat elevated from a comment to an article], consider how long ago that was written, all that we now know about Obama and the direction he is taking our wonderful Republic at breakneck speed, and then ponder what I just wrote above. It is pretty clear to me that we are heading quickly toward a statist regime.

Didn’t Obama state something to the effect that the Contitution was a flawed document that told you what the Government couldn’t fo for you, but it did not state what the Government ‘COULD’ do for you?

You wanna hear something funny? I went to huffpo and read the story about Reid crying because of how Roberts “lied to us” during his confirmation hearings. I read the comments for the story (can’t post any, I’ve been banned
). The majority of the comments were telling Reid to quit his whining. He had his chance to do something about it during the hearings. From the comments I read, those fools are sick of him and Pelosi, too. I guess they want people MORE liberal.

This point was expressed as follows, in the statement of the Communist and Workers Parties of the World, convened in Moscow, in December 1960: ‘Our time…is a time of struggle between the two social systems… of transition of more peoples to the socialistic position, of the triumph of socialism and communism on a worldwide scale.’”

As I understand it, the “well regulated militia” is the army, navy and marine corps that was formed to fight the Revolutionary War and then was necessary to defend the nation once independance was gained. That being the case, if the government became tyranical the citizens would need the right to keep and bear arms to defend their freedom from the government.
The way that I read the Constitution it is 2 seperate things.
Article I
Section 8 The Congress shall have the power…
To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money for that use shall be longer than two years;
To provide and maintain a navy;
To make rules for the government and regulation of land and naval forces;
To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurections, and repel invasions;
To provide for, arming, and disciplining the militia,….reserved to the states respectively, the appointment of officers, and the authority of training the militia….
THE NATIONAL GUARD FROM EACH STATE IS THE MILITIA. OBAMASCUM WILL BE ILLEGAL RABBLE THAT SHOULD BE EXECUTED AS SOON AS THEY ARE ORGANIZED.
2nd Amendment….
The Idea is based on the Swiss Pikemen that were REQUIRED by the Swiss Govt to be ready for invasions. EVERY HOUSEHOLD was duty bound to have at least one Pike that could be used by the homeowner or neighbor to defend the Country.
The MINUTEMEN are the REAL force to the creation of the 2nd Amendment. The Constitutional Convention realized the Citizens can PROTECT THEMSELVES if armed.

The national guard is not the militia. Nor is any other branch of government. The second amendment says specifically “the people”. The people means “not government”. The people just means the people, the whole populace, not whomever the government chooses.

In the language of the day, “well-regulated” simply meant “well-trained.” The militia IS THE BODY OF THE PEOPLE CAPABLE OF BEARING ARMS. In the words of Chief Justice Warren, “[The people] were reluctant to ratify the Constitution without further assurances, and thus we find in the Bill of Rights [Amendment 2], specifically authorizing a decentralized militia, guaranteeing the right of the people to keep and bear arms…”
The militia is further defined in the United States Code at Article 1, Title 10, Chapter 13, Section 311 — Militia: composition and classes:
(a) The militia of the United States consists of ALL ABLE-BODIED MALES at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are —
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) THE UNORGANIZED MILITIA, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
If you are an able-bodied male between the ages of 17 and 45 YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE UNORGANIZED MILITIA WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.
You are correct about the purpose of the militia, however.

I have no idea about the people outside of my geographical area, other than personal and business friendships. However, even my hair cut gal has stocked up on guns and ammo. There was a huge rush for weaponry immediately after Katrina before the local city police told the “escapees” how the cow eats the cabbage and what to expect if they were going to act like they were in New Orleans. So there has not been the huge rush to stock up on arms and ammo like in other places, but it is here.
The wealthiest neighborhoods in town are the ones who have the largest percentage of both retirees and active duty family members in the military. These are very solidly completely conservative strongholds with a lot of political sway. I have already heard some local rumors about contingency plans having been drawn up in these neighborhoods. Among them are attorneys, business owners, doctors, etc…
BTW, most of them serve/served in the USMC, if that means anything.
