Professor Larry Schweikart, author of “48 Liberal Lies About American History: (That You Probably Learned in School)”, and professor of history at University of Dayton is Pat’s very special guest on this afternoon’s Jihadi Killer Hour.
A historian debunks four-dozen PC myths about our nation’s past.
Over the last forty years, history textbooks have become more and more politically correct and distorted about our country’s past, argues professor Larry Schweikart. The result, he says, is that students graduate from high school and even college with twisted beliefs about economics, foreign policy, war, religion, race relations, and many other subjects.
As he did in his popular A Patriot’s History of the United States, Professor Schweikart corrects liberal bias by rediscovering facts that were once widely known. He challenges distorted books by name and debunks forty-eight common myths. A sample:
*The founders wanted to create a “wall of separation” between church and state
* Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation only because he needed black soldiers
* Truman ordered the bombing of Hiroshima to intimidate the Soviets with “atomic diplomacy”
* Mikhail Gorbachev, not Ronald Reagan, was responsible for ending the Cold War
America’s past, though not perfect, is far more admirable than you were probably taught.
Larry’s young adult life was spent playing in well-known rock bands. I’m sure Pat will also ask Larry about that time in his life, and how those changing times effected how he is today.
A former rock musician, playing drums for 10 years, and opening for
Steppenwolf, the James Gang, Mother’s Finest, and others.
Larry’s currently working on a couple of books, each of which has a rock and roll chapter/element in it involving the way rock helped liberate the Iron Curtain countries.

Schweikart was saying that the average historian doesn’t mention the fact that John F. Kennedy’s assassin was a communist. Swept under the carpet is also the fact that Robert F. Kennedy’s killer was a Palestinian-American. The latter Kennedy had attended a pro-Israel meeting only one week before his death.

I think that your points on this JKH about the importance to the Obama regime and thus the importance of pressure on the “Mandarin Class” of federal employees are valuable to anyone seeking timely and lasting redress against our dive into socialism. These people are not only an important base of support for and component of our current Maoist and past leftist regimes, but act as sand in the gears when Conservatives achieve any real power.
These “Mandarins”, however, have a strong conflict of interest in the size and growth of government and the favor of leftists superiors either elected or otherwise. They often have or have deluded themselves that they have ideological sympathy with the left at least in a Social Democrat form in order to rationalize their careers. Changing these minds is going to be a very hard sell.
As I have written before, I think that our current situation seems very much like the public sector declaring war on we in the private.
Great points Roland … I live in the DC metro area (all my life) and the gubmint drones live nice lives, with the best bennies, and huge pensions.
I know them and have known them all my life … they have the elite entitlement mentality that’s not much different than welfare queens.
What all these freaks forget is that it’s the PRODUCERS and CAPITALISTS’ taxes that pay for all this.
I’d like to re-start a new country and watch all these freaks flush down the toilet like a european cluster-f*ck.
