Of interest here is that this was the THAD system performing an intercept during the terminal flight phase. The earlier tests and the satellite shoot-down were done with a mid-course system at a longer range.

Now the pieces are coming together that will allow us to intercept ‘onsey-twoseys’ coming from rogue states such as Iran or North Korea. We still have a long way to go in this field but Obama will probably pull the plug.

Too bad because the boost phase system would be next on stage .. that’s the Airborne Laser (ABL)
