Obviously Bush learned from the lessons of Viet Nam vis-a-vis President Johnson and SecDef McNamara approving every air strike in North Vietnam.

The lesson is “define clear rules of engagement and delegate decision making to the lowest level where all the information needed to make the decision is available.”

Allowing the Pakistani government to be “in the loop” is a nice political touch but unrealistic. They are riddled with sympathizers and moles. The direct approach is getting the job done! Keep up the good work … until Obama baby gets worried he’s going to offend someone’s sensibilities …

Great results! The left fridiculed those same great results in Iraq, calling it the wack a mole strategy in that kill one, another would just as quickly replace them. Only problem with that theory. The replacement has to have the same or similar zeal, experience, charismatic characteristics that motivate others. That is usually achieved over a period of time, not just instantly generated. That get cut out very early on with another hit and the cumulative result is less zeal, motivation and experience and replaced with good old respect for the greatest nation in the history of the earth, tarnished as it may be in the present. Do give Obam a slight pinch of credit. He stated in the campaign that we need to bomb targets in Pakistan. Before I run far with that, it was Bush that lead the way and set the course of action. I doubt if Barry Soweto would have done it on his own accord.
