I’m back from my own strange vacation of megnetic (read: non-stop to the point of concern by all parties within my inner circle) attachment to the site and Active, wihich is to say, I’m finished spending bar and brawl time with my just-returned-from-Baghdad housemate and former 24th MEU, 1st LAR platton-mate who is now working for Blackwater and who gets home for 3 weeks 3 times a year, and who has a variety of fairly taxing personal business matters that I help him out with, in between the serious bar and house party business. I learned a lot about my soul and the critical relationship between it, and the sacred time of relaxation, bonding. expurgation, and soul cleansing that a vacation is. I’ve put the experience to verse, hoping to explore and elucidate with fearless honesty the real meaning of this most profoud of ancient human rituals. And so, without further ado, here are my thoughts on it all:

Can’t seem to get my mind off of you
Back here at home there’s nothin’ to do
Now that I’m away
I wish I’d stayed
Tomorrow’s a day of mine that you won’t be in

When you looked at me I should’ve run
But I thought it was just for fun
I see I was wrong
And I’m not so strong
I should’ve known all along that time would tell

A week without you
Thought I’d forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven’t gotten over you yet

Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone

A week without you
Thought I’d forget
Two weeks without you and I
Still haven’t gotten over you yet

Vacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
Had to get away
Vacation
Meant to be spent alone

Um Pat……if you’re listening to the go-go’s you definitely need a vacation…….

  2. Pat

After I die, when I’m sainted, do I still have a shot at my own day, or has the snake charmer shut me out?

    • German Dragon

As it is written, “In the Lord a thousand years are as a day; and a day as a thousand years.”

Pat, when you die and stand before God, you will be stunned at how mightly God used you to advance His agenda of Good in the earth. His Seal is surely upon you, and His Hand is guiding you.

Yeah, you’ll have a shot at your own day.

Just got word that the DOD has rescinded the order to mutilate fired casings being sold as surplus due to public pressure.

I know there was a lot of pressure being put on congressperson when this info got out. Although apparently this order originated in October 2008, which I find funny since it just hit the public airwaves this week.

I heard you mention my name on sundays show (I wasn’t listening live, otherwise I would have called in.) Just so you know, I’m a vile sack of shit that is okay with God possessing my tongue cause it’s a lot fucking better than anything I would have to say. There’s nothing new under the sun man, and I know this. Happy fuckin’ Dollard Day!

    • German Dragon

“Just so you know, I’m a vile sack of shit that is okay with God possessing my tongue cause it’s a lot fucking better than anything I would have to say.”

A man after my own heart. God is sooooo comfortable with your words, and on so many levels of Scripture. He’s looking at you, smiling knowingly, and saying “Yeah, you’ll do just fine.”

Send you an e-mail as requested, so, get me out of the can and let’s set up some contact

    • German Dragon

Thanks! When I stop at the office around lunchtime (currently it’s 10:30am), I’ll retrieve your email.

Currently my PCs at home are “air-gapped” from the Internet, so email turnaround is usually 24 hours or longer. Right now I’m “poaching” my neighbor’s Wi-FI for web browsing until I devise an acceptably secure solution.

“that’s yolk, son” I keep pitchin’ ‘em and you keep missin’ ‘em!”. Foghorn Leghorn is god, not THE God but definitely A god.
Headed to Hawaii myself, in the Manana for about two weeks to visit a Marine buddy. Drink, snorkel, hike, drink, workout, drink, go to the boob…er…go to some bars, drink, sail, run, run and drink, and after that maybe drink a little.

    • Dan (San Diego)

Where you going in Hawaii? I grew up there and have family still living on a couple islands…
Just jealous and want to know.

    • CGadsden

Oahu. Went in 2007 as well, got to go to the big island for a few days (awesome). This time around will be a little lower key. Funny story, after barely making it home from…a bar, my buddy’s wife asked him who drove. W/o batting an eye an continuing to eat his bowl of cereal, he replies, “Jesus.” He’s an atheist.

    • Dan (San Diego)

      West side!

      classic story……if Jenny can’t go I will..lmao

I am so miserable and bored. Where is everyone?  :???:

    • Roland

Sorry to hear this! Too much fun last night or?

Want to share a bit about that last shooting course?

How did you do? Well I’ll wager.

Are these local range courses good, or should I just plan to make my vacation to one of the big name schools?

Mademoiselle Minister’s primary responsibility may be to the girls, but she can indulge a few questions to inform me and chase away a little of her boredom.

Coming from an outdoorsy background and places I tend to overlook close range practice, and that leaves a big hole in defensive skills.

    • Jenny-O

Roland thanks for keeping me company ;)

The only range I really know about is my own, and the classes my boss offers are awesome. But I think you would be good with your local range courses, I say give em a shot. :) You will probably learn the same stuff as the big places teach. Plus small indoor ranges are perfect for defensive skills. All of us need to practice and be prepared for home intrusion, as we will not rise to the occasion, but default to our training. Gotta give the boss man credit for that line.

    • mike3481

“…as we will not rise to the occasion, but default to our training.”

Jenny, that is a great line and I’m stealing it.

    • Roland

      Thanks Jenny.

I may find some local range with an interesting class to try.

You are a good employee. Selling your range and your classes even though I am a long way away.

Know this, however, if I were ever to come to your range for a class; I will be sorely tempted to pretend to have never touched a firearm before and take a basic course from you. Oh, the grip and position work that you would have to do with this dense student. It would look like a game of Twister.

I just sentenced some unknown genuine and earnest student guy to a good deal of suspicion someday!

When you get your new rifle you might enjoy and learn some of the other side of shooting from an Appleseed or Boar Sight outing.

      http://www.appleseedinfo.org/index.htm

      http://www.boaring.com/Boaring_Experiences/Shooting_School.html

In which cartridge did you order it

    • Storm 0311

      Hey Jenny.
Any of the old farts at the range teach you about reloading yet?

It doesn’t seem like much but knowing what it takes to make your rifle rooar is good quality fun.

(it also makes you take the time to make the shot good if you had to reload it yourself)

How you breathing? Feeling better?(did you kick Pat’s ass for being a schmuck?) Tell us all your troubles… see.. we are here for you.

    • Jenny-O

      Storm0311,

Hi how are you? No I haven’t learned anything about reloading yet. Maybe when school settles down Ill ask the guys to teach me :)

And thanks for being so kind   I am feeling ok, still talking like an 8 year old kid though haha. And about Pat, LOL, I cant tell that guy anything without it coming out on JKH all blown up and ass backwards. Im trying to take it as a strange compliment… haha, Just waiting for my swelling to go down before I drive out there and arm wrestle him. Right Pat? Notice I said arm wrestle Pat - since you think I am a big lesbo. hahaha

      Roland

were you asking about my future AR? I just have the lower receiver but Im going to go with the .223 … dont have any money yet for the rest of the rifle.

    • Roland

      Jenny,

When you get the rifle ready to make noise and holes, I just noticed that the Appleseed Project has made their shooting camps complimentary for women in 2009. They also appear to be serious about promoting that women become and improve as shooters, and might be a useful resource for your own work.

  8. CGadsden

I’m here Jenny! How ya feelin? Want ta go to Hawaii with me? LOL! Leavin tomorrow, can’t wait!

  9. POD1

    M1A, AR15, Barrett 50cal, 1911.

    All cheap crap.

    I want one of THESE:
    http://blog.wired.com/defense/2009/03/military-laser.html

  10. Storm 0311

Jenny!!! .450 Bushmaster!!! (same lower) Big Bullets! knock down power. Not much kick.

.223 you have to learn to double tap targets. Hit them once with a .450 and get 3 times the damage.

    • Jenny-O

Cant get a bushmaster in Cali. If not a .223, I will build a 9mm. - Im lookin for cheap ammo… already got the XD in .45 and the shotgun in 12 ga.

Good lookin out though Storm.

    • Roland

Now Jenny-O, you are just being smart and practical and a little boring.

This game is “Spend Jen’s Money” a spin-off from “Win Ben’s…”; and you, being a girl, will just buy too many shoes if our suggestions are practical and economical.

      I will vote for a 300 Whisper.

    • Storm 0311

Yup. the .300 is my next choice.

I built a 7.62×39 mauser with a cz 527 barrel and detachable mini thirty mags.(maybe I should use it for my Gravatar)(it’s purdy)

Just for sub sonic 200 gr leads.

It will do really hot loads easy.

But with no mods the subs don’t need any hearing protection.(remember sub-sonics are under 1200 usually 1000 fps. don’t try to use jacketed bullets and only use the fastest powders in small amounts always check for a stuck bullet until you get the load right. 5grs red dot 187 gr lymen bullet lubed with alox backward like a big boat tail wadcutter 1020fps. your results may very, this load works in my gun it might not work or cause damage in yours)(because mausers rule!)

There you go Jenny get a 527 cz mini mauser….don’t bother with the chinese ammo it will just disappoint you.

    • Roland

      Storm 0311

Yes, you should put that rifle as your image, gun porn.

Is that standard barrel stabilizing those heavy bullets?

I too wondered about stuck bullets in the Whispers or loads emulating them, since they are using jacketed boattails rather than cast bullets.

    • Jenny-O

you guys realize most of that went right over my head, right? haha

    • Roland

      Translated for Jenny:

Since you will be doing a lot of practice and training and then demonstrating as you later train others, considering ammo cost is wise.

You earn enough compliments and kudos between brains and beauty that if I/we give them without the little jabs attached your head will swell. Can not create another narcissist. Enough of those.

Some interesting special purpose rounds are out there for the AR. The .450B is a powerhouse thumper. The .300W can be very quiet.

      I am a Gunnut.

Storm is apparently a rather good gunsmith.

Has anyone else investigated the Twitter API?

Also, hang in there Jeanet.. Slogging my way through past emails and other tasks.

    • Jeanet

Not planning on going anywhere

Although you had me thinking those darn meds for your bloodpressure got the best of you again.

So, I’m happy to hear a sound comming out of the dragon’s den.

    • German Dragon

My bp was back up to 151/100 despite the meds. Time to get off my tail and exercise more.

Right now I’m temporarily poaching my neighbor’s Wi-FI for web browsing until I can buy the equipment for a secured point-to-point radio link with my office, so email has to be hand-carried to the office to actually send it. Bit of an inconvenience, but it does keep the machines secure for now.

Concerning the upcoming “exorcism,” I thought you might find this interesting. Back in the 1980s the U.S. Army began funding a “psychic spying” program. Spending $20 million over ten years, it ultimately became known as “Remote Viewing.” For political reasons it was transferred to the CIA, who in turn turned it into a circus before allegedly discontinuing it.

The developers took the technology private and formed a company called PSItech (www.psitech.net) which offers training tapes and services.

Contrary to what the pop culture may say about it, Remote Viewing is nothing more than a set of attention-management protocols that teaches the Viewer to use the unconcious mind for data collection while keeping the imagination from trying to “embroider” the collection process.

If you follow the Introductory course, you should become proficient enough within a few hours to hit a 50% to 75% accuracy with large, unambiguous targets (for example, “Indian Ocean,” or “Rocky Mountains,” or “New York City”). The Full Course tapes delve deeper into the “gestalts” and theory, and include a TRV session in which a student blind-probed the target “Nuclear Weapons / Next Use / Hostile Intent” and sketched out an underground bunker being penetrated.

Beyond PSItech, I don’t vouch or endorse anything else on the Net about it, especially if it smacks of “New Age” or otherwise seeks to dilute the rigorous discipline of the protocols the Army developed. But within PSItech itself, I thought it might be something that would interest you.

Some interesting news from the New Caliphate, formerly known as Great Britain.

With the 65-th anniversary of D-day comming up, none in the British government had bothered so far about any commemorations.

Using the “credit-crunch”-mode these days like Global Warming once was to make excuses for every stupidity, it seems Great Britain rather pays for importing more hate-preaching idiots to their island.

So as far as I’m concerned; Europe is still in submission-mode

The text below is from an article I edited from the The sun.co.uk.

    ………………………………..

Did Canada’s socialized medicine KILL Natasha Richardson?

Natasha, 45, the wife of Schindler’s List actor LIAM NEESON, fell and suffered fatal brain bleeding during a lesson at the Canadian ski resort on Monday.

The mum of two was then flown to New York, where her life support was turned off on Wednesday, with Liam, 56, and her mother VANESSA REDGRAVE, 72, at her bedside.

She had bleeding between the brain and skull.

There were claims last night that Natasha did not reach a hospital for four hours — three hours longer than thought.

And paramedics said they saw her sitting on a stretcher soon after her fall — NOT walking around laughing as first reported.

It was also claimed that Quebec’s lack of an air ambulance may have contributed to a fatal delay.

Yesterday I attended a seminar entitled “Healing the Wounds of War,” dealing in part with TBI and PTSD. Turned out to be a lib clusterfuck, down to including massage therapy, aromatherapy, and acupuncture.

The one meeting I wanted to attend was the “Community of Veterans,” but it was closed to the public.

On a lark I went into another meeting called “Faith-Based Responses to War and Violence.” It was populated with long-hair hippie-type CLERGY(!) that were “bravely” announcing how they “can no longer be bound to the hierarchy of their orders.” Yadda, yadda, yadda. Reminded me of those freaks that lick other fags’ assholes clean.

It was at this point I wished I had brought my photo album of spirit photos to beat the hippies over the head with, and to show them who God’s enemy looks like (since they were obviously never taught that in seminary).

About this time, a returning Afghan combat vet and his wife stepped into the meeting room. I could see it radiating off of him, and when I confirmed who he was I yelled at the hippies to STFU because “this young man has been face-to-face with naked spiritual evil and his faith has survived, and in that conflict his holiness has been purified.”

I went on. “This is the reason I came to this seminar, not how you liberal clergy self-righteously justify yourselves at fucking up the Cause of Christ, but to hear from men like this on the difficulties they have returning to civilian life. So, sir, please speak to us.”

That shut the hippies up for the rest of the meeting.

After that meeting, I had a chance to sit down with our local Director of Veterans’ Affairs. I’m still digesting what he said to me. Perhaps in a few days I can post some cogent questions that I would appreciate the vets on this site answering.

What is wrong with the USA?

    http://www.sunblest.net/humor/Wrong.htm

  25. Storm 0311

    To Jenny and Roland.

    I’m a 3rd gen. Marine.
My family consists of idiot savant inventor hermits and wannabe artist’s.(with the full spectrum of political stupidity thrown in)

And I’m a gun looney who also does swordwork.
Makeing them or useing them is no difference to me.
(I have made and use my own fluted plate armor..)
( I grow hops for my homebrew and grapes for my wine, I make a port you’d die for…..)

I consider myself more of a rifleman/gun mechanic not really a gun smith.

Lastly I’m a historian, thats why I’m nervous.

    • German Dragon

Are there any photos of your fluted armor on-line? Is it Low- or High-Gothic armor?

    • Storm 0311

The style is a mix between German and Milanize.

It’s a hodge podge of what would have been available during the 1620’s seige of Pavia.
Articulated plate with straight lines and vinework.
Part of the problem was I’m a large sort and was not willing to give up my mobility. So it was kind of a voyage of discovery for my body shape.
It is mainly 18 gauge steel with a 12 gauge helm(my armet face gave out to a thrust so I have to do the visor over, it lasted for 10 years, chipped a tooth dammit!)The fluting is a must to keep people from caving in the armor on me.

It works o.K. it’s like a chumba wumba video “I get knocked down,I get up again!” I can be on my knees lean back and touch my head on the ground and straight up again.

When you start talking Gothic plate you are meant to be on horse back yelling orders. This is the balance of Fluted armor and usable martial arts equipment.(don’t get me wrong. it is metal, it’s just the act of doing it is a martial art.)
In full gear I’m 320 without armor about 375 full set with gambeson shield and stick. it is considered 3/4 plate not full.
      How’s that for over shareing?

    • Roland

I do not know much about swords and armor, but can admire design and craftsmanship.

I like and now and then make beer and wine. Maybe we’ll trade smoked porter for port some day.

  26. Storm 0311

    Roland.

It’s a stock CZ527 barrel some horses ass took off a unfired 7.62×39. it has a mini .30 front site with flash hider to help spread the sound in the wrong direction.(talk about gun porn, you ought to look with a scope inside this barrel, perfect… )

(Jenny 7.62×39 is the same round the AK and the SKS fires however my rifffle is a mexican mauser bolt gun origionally in 7×57 mauser so I can cook up different loads with ease and safety)(the mauser, some bubba had destroyed before I got there so “No crime , No foul”)

    • Roland

The rifle sounds very nice, but then the small ring 98s and the Husqys that used metallurgy to bring the svelte older Mauser designs up to grade hold special places for me. I am perpetually seeking a very good M1936 Mexican.

We’re drifting off theme, but it is really Pat’s fault. If his site attracted mindless do nothing parrots like liberal sites, we would not have off topic achievements and expertise to discuss.

  27. Heh. Found this at Wicked Thoughts ( http://bussorah.blogspot.com )

This is funny but all too true:

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whoever I want. I decided to marry my horse.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 18% isn’t.

I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they’re doing, because they now think we’re good people.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

A Liberal is a person who will give away everything they don’t own.” — Ron, the Gregarious Hermit.
