Tea Party Protesters Gird for Possible Liberal Backlash
Tea Party organizers are poised for a possible backlash during their nationwide demonstrations on Tax Day, April 15.
Foxnews

As anti-tax protesters organize tea parties across the country on April 15, rumors are swirling that a backlash is brewing.

Some believe ACORN, which has been under scrutiny for accusations of voter fraud, is preparing to crash some of the tea parties. But ACORN says it is only helping to organize dozens of rallies on the same day in support of President Obama’s first budget.

“This is the first we’ve heard of these so-called ‘tea parties.’ And, frankly, a bunch of small get-togethers by fringe conservative activists dedicated to simply saying ‘no’ is of little interest to us,” said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring.

He did not say where the pro-Obama rallies would take place, leaving open the possibility that they may clash with some tea parties.

Tea party organizers, meanwhile, say they’re not worried at all about possible disruption.

“If ACORN wants to send some of their paid, pretend activists to show up, that’s fine,” John O’Hara, who is holding a tea party in Chicago, told FOX News. “They don’t have a message that resonates with the American people or resonates with this broad coalition that’s upset with the spending that’s going on in Washington.”

“We don’t take them seriously,” said Mark Mekler, who is organizing a tea party in Sacramento. “We expect people to attempt to infiltrate, we expect people to attempt to disturb what we’re doing.

“But the reality is this is a very broad-based grassroots movement,” he told FOX News. “There is no leader at the top. There is no individual event that they can disturb that would cause us a problem nationwide.”

Taxdayteaparty.com, which is helping to organize the protests, said more than 250 locations in all 50 states will hold rallies on April 15. Some believe ACORN will try to make the tea parties look like fringe group efforts at best, and racist undertakings at worst.

Mekler said he is not concerned with how outsiders may try to portray their efforts.

“The people who are involved understand they’re not racist, they’re not fringe, they’re not even partisan,” he said.

“I mean, these are events where we have across-the-board Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, liberals, libertarians. The people who are going to be there know what’s going on. We’re not worried about these folks polluting the event.”

ACORN said if there are protesters, it won’t be from its ranks.

“The idea that ACORN is out to disrupt these meet-ups of fringe activists is yet another conservative fantasy,” Kettenring said.

“At this point, it would not surprise us to wake up tomorrow and see conservative media fingering ACORN’s 500,000 member families as the principle cause of global climate change,” he said in a written statement.

How in the fuck does acorn get federal money? Who ever authorized that should be in jail.
Maybe some big ball conservative will pass some money ACTIVE’s way.

    • aboutTObegin

was it not part of the several trillion kill us all with taxes stimulus bill???

  • http://cclevel.vox.com cclezel

Well, last Sunday I got a robo call that was about the tea party except it was intentionally misleading. It stated the protest starts at 1200 which is not true. The protest starts at 1800. Or local radio station picked up on the robo call and is trying to determine who was behind this misleading prank. I have my suspicion it may well have be ACORN.

    • American Woman

Same thing happened here. If not ACORN then moveon or americas united for change or project vote.
      One on the commie groups.

  • YERMOM

    Fuck Acorn.

  • maggiew

The education of what ACORN is needs to specific
and factually correct in order to win against any
    crap they will shovel out.
Everyone needs to know who these people really are.
They are the front line of Obamas propaganda agenda.
As to how many are members, it would be good to know
if there are 500,000 signed up.

    • http://msplaceddemocrat.com navyvet48

maggie last count had ACORN with 400,000 members.

  • Wigpeeler

acorn = kinder-gentler term for “dingleberry”.

  • Kermit

In Baton Rouge we are already working with the State Police since we will be on the Capitol Steps. Anyone who puts up any extremist (by normal standards) signs will be removed immediately by force if necessary.

  • BlueOval8950 (White guy with Blue Eyes)

I just love how the idiot from ACORN-HOLE states these are going to be small fringe gatherings. I know of at least one and possibly more Republican Congressmen that will be at the one in Sacramento. Its going to be hard for the media to ignore potentially millions of people across the US at these gatherings.

    • sassysuz

Right, check out how many will show up in San Antonio by the Alamo. Sorces tell me in the thousands

  • http://msplaceddemocrat.com navyvet48

ACORN got $16 million dollars in last summers housing bill. They will get anywhere between 2-4 billion dollars out of the stimulus bill….they are a “non-profit”….but this is a lie too…ACORNs are just a bunch of fucking liars…I met one in person….needed three showers afterwards!

  • http://msplaceddemocrat.com navyvet48

Here in Wichita KS we have also contacted both city police and airport police since we are airport authority property! I am still working on stuff for tomorrow…I am going dressed as a Revolutionary patriot!

  • http://msplaceddemocrat.com navyvet48

At last count ACORN had approximately 400,000 members. I have no idea how many they have now!

  • Phil Byler

ACORN is a commie organization and should be hammered as such at every turn. The fact that ACORN receives federal money should be hammered at every turn.

  • vivi libero o muori

“Acorn” sure is a fitting name. 400,000 nuts.

    • tarantula

      doh!

  • bacongreasenapalm

Another Commie Organization Ruining the Nation

  • Tim Roesch

Don’t be too hasty in diminishing the effect, future or otherwise, of ACORN.

How man Brown Shirts did Hitler start with?

It is my belief that Obama’s puppet masters are looking for a reason to do a Beer Hall Putsch. The Obots are looking for a reason.

Let’s be prudent out there. We want the Constitution back, not a Jacobin re-re-revolution with beheadings for all. Mussolini was beloved by many before he was left dangling.

Prudence, people or we lose all, is my guess.
Sadly, if Obama doesn’t get his mentally deranged Nationalist to shoot his Archduke to start the ball rolling, he might create one. Don’t be the Obama sock puppet.
    Prudence.
Then, if we still have to go to guns, then put me up front!

  • Matt in GA

Not sure how many Brown Shirts will be in Atlanta tomorrow. It is a red state, but we do have some Black Panther Acorn types. Just in case, if you are carrying a sign tomorrow make sure it is hardwood.

  • Ash

Acorn protesters a conservative fantasy? more like a threesome with Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter.

  • POD1

It might be wise to review Tictic’s manual on protests:

    http://patdollard.com/2009/04/actives-guide-to-demonstrations/

    • vivi libero o muori

already read it, and keep the link on my desktop. good advice though.

    • Scoot

      Thank you, Pod.

  • Scoot

    Off Topic:

This is what we are dealing with. Scary how much they look alike.

  • reagan54

Do not give them more power than they have. Nothing into nothing equals nothing. It’s nice to be aware of the losers; they are on the radar.

    • tarantula

Exactly, as with the Somali pirates, they will only be encouraged and become more brazen through our lack of spinal strength and testicular/ovular fortitude.

  • reagan54

What’s the deal with Phoenix–a huge population–apathy? I’m beginning to feel like I’m a psychopath.

    • TerryTate

      What do you mean reagan54?

There’s supposed to be a big tea party rally in downtown Phoenix at the capital at 5 pm tomorrow?

      Have you heard different?

    • Don’t bitch about the heat

reagan, there will be a rally today stating at 1730 at the capitol. big group and lots of fun and a poke in the eye of all the spenders. dems and repub. bring a sign.

  • TedB

So, I’m a member of a small fringe am I?

I guess that just means I’m on the leading edge of that movement. We will grow and be stronger than acorn, we will become a mighty oak and someday our branches will blot out the sun for the acorns and they will disappear.

    In short, fuck ‘em.

  • tlk

The White House belongs to us!!!! THROW THAT MOTHER FUCKER OUT OF IT!!!! COME ON…YOU GUYS DID IT WITH SADDAM!!! GET HIM OUT!

  • http://HBCIndy.com Dr. Jerry

Back on the farm, where I was raised, we stepped on acorns all the time. Every time an acorn got under your feet: Smash! Crackle! Crunch! and it was gone. We also fed them to the hogs. It would be a good idea for any Acorn memeber to remember both of those things.

    • SgtJenz

Yes sir. Hogs love Acorn nuts and raw meat….bones and all.

    • tarantula

LOL! Doctor, I needed that. Thanks for the shot of medicinal laughter :)

  • tarantula

We all know that A-HOLE will be watching and likely to try, in some places, to disrupt.

If we follow the pattern of political pressure from such groups as mujlims they remain quite until the point that they are numerically slightly more than equal to the opposing groups. This allows the appearance of legitimacy via the misdirection of “this is a democratic country.” No. We are a Republic and unchecked democracy is akin to mob rules and anarchy.

In light of that, look for violence or reports of improper actions in those areas that are or were politically aligned to the current odministration. Chicago, good luck to you.

I know that there will be camcorders going. Get as much as you can. It can be posted and aired and, likely, force fed into some local outlets of media.

Good luck, God bless. I will try to make it out to the Annapolis one.

  • Buzz Bannister

When Acorncalls us “Fringe” and “of little interest” that pretty much means they are ball to the wall on this and will do anything and everything to quell the tide…which in my humble opinion is one of the reasons why they exist in the first place.

    • tlk

I agree. I say skip the bottomfeeders and go for the top.

    • MinneSoCold

Agreed. They’re all very concerned with this and want to chop this movement off at the knees. The MSM is doing their best (worst) to paint these rallies as a small percentage of crazies, the administration releases an assessment on right-wing threats, and I bet my precious paycheck that ACORN and others have very clear plans to create havoc thus turning the parties into what will be headlined as “Tax Protesters turn violent on Obama supporters”. I wouldn’t be surprised if they take the opportunity to covertly introduce gun fire at a few events to further demonize and destroy the movement.

    • tarantula

Now, identify the local nut hutches and see if we can find out who the leaders are at those places. Then, I dunno, make lots of noise about their anti Constitution and Law and Order activities.
