Press: Gates: Iran war will be ineffective
US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has termed a military attack on Iran as ‘ineffective’ saying that it will fail to halt Tehran’s nuclear program.
“Any military option against Iran will only yield temporary results and will be ineffective,” the Jerusalem Post newspaper quoted Gates as saying to the Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday.
He added that a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities would only send the country’s nuclear program further underground.
Gates stressed that instead, the US and its allies should impose more sanctions against Iran to halt its nuclear program.
The US defense secretary’s comments come as the new Israeli government led by the hawkish Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has voiced its commitment to stop Iran’s nuclear program, even through a military attack.

Israel can not remain defensive if nuke’s are involved. One nuke strike and the tiny nation of Israel is gone. They know it and so do we. As far as I’m concerned Israel is our only hope of stopping Iran. Obambi and the rest of his dolt’s will get us all killed if left to their own devices.
Fuck Gates. I disagreed with his appointment from day one.
The longer this drags on, the more likely it is that Israel just ends up having to nuke Iran. If they had just taken care of it a few years ago it could have been much easier. This dithering has just assured that millions of Iranians will get smoked, instead of just the thousands that would have died on military installation inside Iran.
What Gates is saying is “Please come attack America. We are making the country extremely weak, and we promise not to attack anyone that attacks us.”
This shit is getting old. It’s like they want the taliwackers to get the nukes, and they are throwing the only remaining free country in the mid-east, Israel, to the wolves.

This guy is dumber than a bag of hammers. Unless you have every nation cooperating ie: Russia, China, France; yes France (we all know they suck) with tighter sanctions. More sanctions will not mean crap. The shear stupidity of our officials in government is F ‘in amazing.
