“Broken Steele”

Where I come from, when a horse becomes lame and unable to run we put him down. Grand Old Party, my ass. lol.

  • unkaglen

I have to take the Alan Keyes approach here. What we have are two heads on one body(Repubs&Dems)fighting a visciuos battle, all the while the feet are marching us slowly down the path to socialisim. We are so busy watching the heads we never see where the feet are taking us………….

  • bill-tb

The two heads are called progressives. And since Teddy Roosevelt, both parties, except for very rare occasions, have been run by progressives. And progressives are basically big government socialists.

  • SOC

Steele can’t get the job done….

  • Phil Byler

There is a big difference between the two parties. The GOP may not be as conservative as you want, but it is still the party cherishing patriotism, respecting the military, believing in a free economy and fiscal responsibility, standing for a strong foreign policy and upholding traditional moral values. The Democrats have gone full blown socialist and are addicted to irresponsible deficit spending, cannot restrain its anti-military attitudes, stands for appeasement and weakness in foreign policy and is intolerant of anything Barney Frank hates (e.g., normalcy and traditional moral values). Yes, the GOP needs to get its act together. But the GOP is needed to displace the Democrats, who will be failing big time.

I knew when he said rap was going to get us votes
that he was in the wrong party…

  • Hardball1911

Folks, don’t forget that this is propaganda, paid for by the Democratic National Committee. If it meant shit to our future, I would be up in arms.

It is doing, judging by some of the comments, exactly what it was written to do. Creating doubt, confusion, and disappointment. But it only does so if you allow it, and it only does so if you don’t pay attention to the pattern of deceit paid for by the Democratic National Convention, Soros, and the rest of the thieves and beggars.

  • TBinSTL

Yay let’s all do what the Democrats want us to do!!! Weee, it sure is fun being out of power. Purge all impurities from our party and make sure to criticize everything… a lot… cause thats fun too…

  • Bryan J

This spot is typical Democrat BS. They are trying to get us fighting between ourselves. This seek was vacated by libral, so it should not come as a surprise that a libral won.

The goal is for us to demand the ouster of Steele, then they will run spots claiming he was fired because of race.

Don’t make it easy for them.

You’ve made an excellent point. The failure was not Steele’s. Rather, strategic errors were made by the candidate himself, as noted over at http://www.redstate.com.

      See http://www.redstate.com/tomllewis/2009/04/26/ny20-campaign/

I agree but I dont like how Steele is going down the same road as Obongo with trying to please everyone by playing nicey nice. The winning votes with rap crap was pretty lame. He talks a good game of going back to our roots but Im not sure he believes it. Ive seen him water down the message on liberal shows but in front of conservatives hes great.
      style over substance.

He needs to work on how to stop the libs from crossing lines to vote our candidate during the primaries. ex. McLame

  • American Woman

by the way we didnt loose the race. The dims are steeling races to keep power.
    look at Minn.

Yes, I too have noticed that Mr. Steele likes to play it “nicey nice,” as you put it. I’m thinking particularly of what he did viz. Rush Limbaugh. He shouldn’t apologize for being a conservative or representing a conservative point of view. Everytime he, or any other conservative does so, he acquieses to the opposition’s charge that conservatism is mean-spirited and born of selfishness. Conservatism IS compassionate as Ronald Reagan said in his first inaugural address as Governor of California:

“We are a humane and generous people and we accept without reservation our obligation to help the aged, disabled and those unfortunates who, through know fault of their own, must depend on their fellow man. But we are not going to perpetuate poverty by substituting a permanent dole for a paycheck. There is no humanity or charity in destroying self-reliance, dignity and self-respect … the very substance of moral fiber(January 5, 1967).”

There’s no need to apologize for being a conservative!! If we care about our country and our fellow citizens, we will advance conservatism. Are you listening Mr. Steele??

P.S. – Here’s one more Reagan quote for the road. I hope that Mr. Steele remembers this one too:

“You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream — the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order – or down to the ant
heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those
who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, ‘The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits(October 27, 1964).’”

    • Bryan J

Tom those are some great Reagan quotes, I agree we need to push Michael Steel & the RNC back to the right and once again express the ideals of Reagan. Everytime I’ve seen Michael Steele he has expressed those values, but I have to admit I don’t remember seeing Michael Steele outside of Fox News. I hope he stays true to core Conservative values while in a more liberal setting. If not he does need to be called on it.

Since day one of his taking the job the liberal have been trying to drive a wedge between him & the base. First by calling him a moderate. Although there were more conseravtive candidates for the job, he is not a moderate in the McCain/Specter/Graham mold.

The Limbaugh thing was a trap that he fell right into. Allowing himself to be put between the choice of say he was only a figure head or disavowing Limbaughs influence on the Conseravative base. He answered that poorly.

If he turns out to be the wrong guy for the job or trys to move the party to the middle then we have no choice, but to demand someone else.

All I am saying lets not let the Left wing smear machine influence us on this. After all what they truly fear is the RNC going back to conservative Reagan values

I made my initial comment in the interest of accuracy. You had made a good point re. the media attempt to brand conservatives as racists when Steele is forced to step down. However, I’m not as optimistic as you are re. the Republican Party – which is why I’m leaving it. I think it’s time for a third party. Why? The problems in the GOP go way beyond Mr. Steele.
