Flopping Aces: Obama’s Order Not To Rescue Hostage Confirmed By Pentagon And NSA

Stung by the widely circulated “SEAL pals” account of what really happened in Somalia (discussed here last Friday), the Obama administration had National Security Advisor James L. Jones and a number of anonymous Pentagon sources give their side two days ago in a Washington Times exclusive. Their mission, according to reporter Bill Gertz, was:

… to dispel Internet reports that the military was delayed from taking action by indecision inside the White House.
Clintonesque parsing of words is evident throughout the Jones-Pentagon account, amounting on more than one occasion to outright dishonesty. Yet the actual information they provide (as opposed to the lawyerly spin they try to put on it) actually confirms the most damning details in BooBooFan’s purported SEAL report.

Exhibit 1: The Rules Of Engagement.

BooBooFan states the ROE this way:

Once [SEAL teams] arrived, BHO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they couldn’t do anything unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent” danger.

The Pentagon’s rebuttal states the ROE without any requirement that the danger be “imminent”:

“It took awhile to get facts and then to get the military on scene,” said one senior military official, who spoke only on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of discussing special forces operations. “As the picture got more clear and commanders’ requests went back down the chain, the guidance was: ‘We would like a peaceful resolution. However, if Captain Phillips’ life is in danger you can take appropriate action.’

But we know from Vice Adm. William E. Gortney, speaking at the time of the incident, that the ROE did specify “imminent danger,” and that this was interpreted literally:

    I am amazed the truth saw the light of day in the New age of Goebbels. Who could believe it would take a destroyer, Orion aircraft and Navy SEAL’s four days to take care of four jihadis in a boat? The Captain was held (and was in “imminent danger”) for four days drifting in the sea in the heat at gunpoint because Obama “will stand with the Muslims.” Sickening.

    I heard this about a week and half ago on G Gordon Liddy whose son is a retired SEAL.

      One was a SEAL.

      The other a Marine.

The order was: if you see that the pirates have left Captain Philips unguarded, giving you an opportunity to rescue him by killing them, DON’T TAKE IT. They (the Obama people at CENTCOM) preferred to have the pirates alive and in possession of Captain Philips. They even have the gall to call it “unfortunate” that the Islamofascist hijackers ended up getting taken out!”

    This explains it all.

    No offense to the good Capt., and the kick ass SEAL’s, but if it was one of us “right wing extremists”, I bet obozo would’ve told the navy to blow the shit out of that boat, and to end it as fast as possible.

    I am interested to know what the general feeling of the military is. I mean, what better way to piss off Marines then to tell to stay in their barracks and do nothing, or to tell SEALs to be kindler and gentler to terrorists.

    Okay, professionalism and all that, but what is the military thinking? (I mean the grunt on the ground not staff officers trying to get another star).

    Unfortunately, Obama learned that if he leaves a little room to act (here, hostage life in imminent danger), our outstanding military will succeed. Next time, Obama will calaculate how to fail better.

    I love SEALS, tell them not to act except when their hostage is immenent danger. I can almost hear their conversation now. IS that a rifle pointed at his head? I do believe it is! Pop pop pop. Mission completed Bravo Zulu. I remember when they used them for drug interdiction and their first encounter was a boat of dead smugglers. They were then informed not to use force unless threatened, this also resulted in a boat load of dead drug smugglers. These guys see can see a perceived threat every time. That’s how they are trained. They don’t fk around.

    I never believed a word that issued forth from that Marxist’s mouth. I knew about him back in 2007. This man will always lie, unless telling the truth gains him an advantage. That’s how they are. Only refugees from the Left like me know how these people are. That’s why we former Leftists are so hated by them: we have their playbook and we know how they operate.

Dipshit still hasn;t proven himself, unless ther is follow up say a land raid against the village or clan that produced these 4 shitheads then it an ‘incomplete’ in my book.
