Holy Week: Newsweek Declares “The Decline And Fall Of Christian America”

Newsweek: In the new NEWSWEEK Poll, fewer people now think of the United States as a “Christian nation” than did so when George W. Bush was president (62 percent in 2009 versus 69 percent in 2008). Two thirds of the public (68 percent) now say religion is “losing influence” in American society, while just 19 percent say religion’s influence is on the rise. The proportion of Americans who think religion “can answer all or most of today’s problems” is now at a historic low of 48 percent. During the Bush 43 and Clinton years, that figure never dropped below 58 percent.

      I’ve noticed that as well, not only that but the attendees are also younger than I used to see. Lots of Gen-X families, and I am one of them along with my wife and children.

      We expanded as well and it just brought in more people. Leaving my house five minutes after the outer limit means having to stand at service, BTDT, even in the new church which is gigantic. I wish we could post images here.

    The news organizations seem surprised that no one is buying printed news anymore. Who wants to be told what to think? I like to get my news in places I can trust.

      No they’re not, there are quite a few southern Christians who vote democrat, but would not classify themselves as liberal. They are conservative, but still vote democrat.

      The reason that candidates of both parties “pay lip service to Christianity” is because, as much as the hard left libtards would like us to believe stories like this Newsweek article,(:roll:) the fact remains that most Americans are not easily accepting of a candidate who is openly anti-God or anti-religion. America was founded by men who believed in God, and the Constitution was based on a similar belief and acceptance of God as the Creator. Those beliefs are as much American as apple pie or baseball, and even libtard politicians have to take that into account when running an election campaign. :wink:

    My father told me this morning how he was watching a history channel show on the anti-christ and how Obama was fitting the bill so well it scared him. My father is very old-school Catholic. I’ve never heard him talk of the end times before in my entire life.

    Looking around I see that spring is coming by all the signs. It’s the same with the Second Coming.
