The video of Ronald Reagan speaking at a 1964 Goldwater rally is a magnificent reminder that: (i) Ronald Reagan was in truth a “heavy hitter” political philosopher; (ii) the effort of the left wing media to depict Ronald Reagan as an empty minded movie actor was as false as false can be; and (iii) Ronald Reagan’s words are as relevant today as they were when spoken — the struggles we face now against socialism at home and appeasement abroad are not new.
Watch this video again. Then pick up a book of Ronald Reagan speeches and read them. You will be receiving important education for the struggle against socialism in the years ahead.
Anyone with a brain and their own thoughts will be demonized by the media. Not that I am a broad supporter of over paid actors, but look at the amount of press and attention that George Clooney has had since he brought attention to the situation in Darfur.
Let’s be clear: George Clooney is not a political philosopher. Ronald Reagan really was.
At the time, Jimmy Carter was portrayed as really smart, but the truth is that Reagan was smarter and more well read.

Have you heard a politician since Reagan that can speak basic truths so eloquently? He was as smooth a kitty’s ear,(as my father used to say). The two closest that I’ve heard are Alan Keyes &/or Congressman Duncan Hunter(Ca).

Having heard and sat next to folks giving great speeches. He has the one intangible aspect, absolute belief and conviction in every single word he speaks from every inch of his entire body.
Without that all speeches are just words.

I was born in 1975. When I was a kid we had a president who served for 26 years and when I went to school I learned that Ronald Reagan was your president. I thought he would be president as long as our president served, but there’s no justice in the world so of course Reagan didn’t serve as long.
I was mesmerized by his speeches and as I watched this video, I felt the same as I felt as a kid when I watched him give speeches regarding our neighbour, Soviet Union.
Lewis Black joked about Americans choosing a dead president (R. Reagan) as your next president, propably to scare the rest of the world. I think dead R.R. would be a better choise than the last two or three democrat presidents you’ve had.
