I'm sure for those that did identify it as AF1, there was still concern and thoughts in the back of their minds "what if?" and I'm sure they were not panicked as others. I do agree with you that it seems NYers haven't forgotten 9/11 and no doubt will always, but to be unknowingly forced to relive the terror of hearing and possibly seeing low flying jets echoing through the city would have freaked-out even the most hardened NYer.
