Members of Congress want Obama to withdraw Johnsen’s name
Dozens of members of Congress have signed a letter to President Obama asking him to rescind his nomination of Dawn Johnsen to the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Council.
They cite her radical pro-abortion views, including her description of pregnancy as slavery.
“She’s compared pregnancy to slavery and described it as involuntary servitude,” Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, says. “She’s compared women to no more than a fetal container.”
King said Johnsen also has described pro-life activists as terrorists.
The letter he and more than five dozen other members of Congress have signed and sent to Obama asks the president to withdraw the nomination.
In Obama’s short tenure in office, he’s already reversed the long-standing Mexico City Policy so that U.S. taxpayer dollars now can be used for abortion overseas.
He’s also worked on a plan to rescind the right of doctors and physicians to not provide abortion services if it conflicts with their own religious beliefs. In addition, he has promised to work on a plan to overturn all abortion restrictions nationwide.
King noted when Obama rescinded the Mexico City Policy Jan. 23, he stated, “No matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion and support women and families in the choices they make. To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground.”
“If President Obama is in any way serious about finding common ground on abortion, he should immediately withdraw his nomination of Dawn Johnsen to head the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel,” King said.
He cited her arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court that, “The woman is constantly aware for nine months that her body is not wholly her own: the state has conscripted her body for its own ends. Thus, abortion restrictions, ‘reduce pregnant women to no more than fetal containers.’”

Think about it the media/hollyweird/activist/pop culture will start to make it more appealing to have babies at home because it is more “natural” but in reality since we are moving into rationed health care they are only looking for ways to cut cost. I have heard liberals say that having babies is selfish because of the carbon footprint babys make, but refer to their pets as animal babies

So she’s saying that she’s the result of slavery? Perhaps she’s implying that women don’t have free will. Maybe she would even say that woman are powerless.
It’s really quite simple. If you WANT a child, you have sex and get pregnant. If you DON’T want a child, you don’t have sex. See? You get to choose whether you experience a 9 month stint of slavery.
Having sex at will and thinking you can decide between have or not having children is like trying to have your cake and eat it too. It doesn’t always work. Treating children like something you get out of a gumball machine at the mall reduces children to a commodity which can be bought and sold. Therein lies the real slavery. Contrast this with the days in which parents simply “knew” each other and let God, in His infinite wisdom, do the rest.
Liberals do not comprehend self control so saying if you do not want to get then keep your legs closed would not compute. They will continue to promote sexuality as something that teenagers cannot control because of raging hormones and will make it legal for them to get abortions at the tender age of 14 WITHOUT parental consent.

Her radical pro abortion views could hardly be more rabid than President Obamateur. Does she also believe in demoralizing America’s military by apologizing for their sacrifices? IOW, is she also a loon.
That statement is a complete travesty of the preciouness of womanhood and the absolute blessing of being a mother. I wonder what her mother would think about such unspeakable thoughts turned to words. The lack of honor and relaince on affluence and intellect of this administration is a scandal that will reap what they have sown.

Sadly, I used to be just like her when I was younger, which was NOT that long ago. If I could slap myself today for those kinds of views, I would. I thought I was doing right by the world by saying this, because I thought at the time that it would bring women more rights.
However, I have seen the error of my ways, though, I will never back down that I am pro choice. To me no one should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.
But, one good thing came out of all my former radical views. Mr. Scoot is scared shitless of me.
