U.S. Declares Public Health Emergency Over Swine Flu
WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. is declaring a public health emergency to deal with the emerging new swine flu.
The precautionary step doesn’t signal a greater threat to Americans. But it allows the federal and state governments easier access to flu tests and medications.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napilotano says roughly 12 million doses of the drug Tamiflu are being released from a federal stockpile so that states can get it if needed.
Napilotano said at a White House news conference Sunday that the emergency declaration is standard operating procedure—one was recently declare for the inauguration and for flooding.

There’s a case in Lorain County, Ohio. A 9 year old. They say he’s recovering at home. I’m down in Cincinnati, Lorain (I googled)is considered “the greater Cleveland area”.
If this thing mutates, we’re fucked.

Flus can and do mutate, and multiple strains exist within one “type.”
I’ve seen reports that this is the H1N1 strain, better known as Spanish Flu. That’s right, the one that killed 50 million people in 1918. It bears keeping an eye on.
So, this is meant to scare us into believing we need Napolotano? Nothing more than a move to save her bacon? Sounds right.
After I read your post, I did some research and found that the Americans effected had recovered. Thanks for your post. It’s too bad we don’t have leaders that explain the situation and promote calm rather than alarm them.

A crisis is a terrible thing to waste…..that is why we now have one every three to four weeks.
We are and have been on the brink of a depression for a while now. If people panic and stop buying things, lose they’re jobs, can’t make mortgage payment, it will probably push us over the edge into a depression.
Under these circumstances, declaring an emergency is to be expected.
The question is if they will un-declare the emergency when the actual emergency has passed.
It might not be so bad here [YET] because we have advanced medicine BUT the mexicans will be flooding in at an even greater rate, crowding our treatment centers and spreading the “virus” more. creating MORE CHAOS, just what obongo wants. In order for him to “rebuild” our government first he has to tear down the exsisting government.
This is a “man caused disaster”!!
