Did she do the right thing? Of course she did. If for no other reason than if she tried to cash it, she would have been busted. But wouldn’t you think that the signer of the check might have rewarded her with, oh, let’s say, 10%. Guess not.

She has “exposed” America to one great truth about our conservative ideals. Do the right thing, no matter what. Only a Liberal would call her stupid. I sure don’t. I salute the moral fortitude this woman showed by returning the check.

One night, out with friends at the local bar, i saw something fall out of the corner of my eye. I looked down, and it was a money clip. A BIIIIG money clip. I picked it up, and tapped the man on the shoulder (he was in jeans and a biker jacket) and gave him his money clip back, saying something like “you should be more careful. Not all of us in here would give this back to you”. Turns out, the guy is a contractor, and that money was for his employee’s pay. Over $2500 bucks. Made a friend for life. Besides, he bought me and my buddies drinks all night, so it wasn’t too bad after all…

God Bless that woman. Because of this News Story, Her actions will now be seen, thought about and talked about by hundreds, if not thousands of people. This story will be used as an object lesson for many parents (I’ll be talking with my kids about it), and adults will have to reflect a bit upon what they would have done and why.

A 10% finders fee would seem proper, but, think if it were your money. Most people do not have that kind of liquid money just laying around.

More than likely it was for some specific purpose. If I had that kind of money, it would be because I just sold a home, or cashed out a 401k for an emergency, like an illness in the family. Taxes are due on the money, possibly State and Federal Penalties, and there is still the emergency the money was intended for. I don’t think I could have even taken a finders fee. Unless it was Mr. Burns from the Simpsons.

Yes, if the money was stolen the older woman would have nothing, but it was not stolen. I applaud the young woman who returned the money. God will reward her in his own way and in his own time.
