Wink News:

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Henrietta Hughes is still struggling to make ends meet.

Unemployed and homeless, she caught national attention during President Obama’s visit to Fort Myers when she asked for his help. After her plea, Hughes was given a free place to stay, but she still can’t find a job and may soon find herself homeless again.

From CNN to Fox to WINK News, her story was everywhere. Today though you’ll find her at the Career Service Center in Fort Myers.

“It’s almost our second home,” Henrietta said of her time at the center.

She and her son Corey are taking computer classes. She hopes it gives them the edge to get a job. “We can start fresh,” she said.

However, her problem is that few industries are hiring. Since February she says they’ve been knocking on doors and applying for as many jobs as they can, but no luck.

Adding to her worries the house she’s living in for free, is only temporary. Representative Nick Thompson’s wife, Chene, owns the home and is allowing Henrietta to live there until it sells.

“Thank God for Mrs. Chene Thompson for allowing us to stay in her house,” Henrietta said.

If she has to move without having a job, Henrietta fears she’ll be back at square one — living in her truck.

Though she hasn’t had to pay rent, Henrietta says she hasn’t saved much money either. Her bills are often more than her income. Now she’s praying her story ends how she hoped it would. “Get a job and get on to do things that I decide to do,” she said.

Henrietta does have a job interview on Monday to do administrative work at a local hospital. She’s hoping some of the computer skills she was learning help her get the job.

Where’s Dad, I assume she is one of countless single mothers out there whom the Dems have gone out of their way to legitimize this type of lifestyle and destroy the concept of a family consisting of mother, father, and child. The war on poverty is costing this country way too much. How about individual responsibility? Is everyone a victim? I don’t mind helping those who can’t help themselves, but I’ll be damned if I want to help those who won’t help themselves.

I wish her and her son well….but if she voted for Nobama because he said he would take all of American’s problems away, she learned a hard lesson about politicians…don’t believe a fucking word.

    • billie

I wish her well, too. Just wondering where her “income” is coming from since she doesn’t have a job.

How would you like to be the person thinking about buying that house?
Real Estate Agent: “Oh, and as soon as you kick that woman Obama promised a house to on national T.V. out, then you can move in.”
Can you say “lice infested protesters”.

    • YERMOM

talk about incentive to buy. YERMOM would buy this house in a heartbeat.

if I was so busy paying for all the other deadbeats houses.

I AM a Realtor and you got that one right. No one takes care of a rental ( It’s not mine who cares) so I have shown houses that have tennets who do pay–but when you get one who is not even paying God only knows what it would look like, usualy so bad that as a Realtor you are embarassed to take a buyer to a house that looks so bad. Should have brought a bulldozer with that contract to sign. Sad but so true so many times.

Yo Mama…hang in there. Your Home Boy is working on getting you a mansion from one of those radical right wing tea party terrorists…or maybe you will get a spot in the FEMA camp instead.

    Just words.

Need to introduce her to “auuntee” in Boston.

Wait, I thought we had made it blatantly clear. There is no desire on Ofuck’s part to lift people like her up by assisting her and allowing her to be our equals. It is by bringing us all down to her level that he will make us all equal.

      I agree…

Well, you get what you vote for.

I wish there was a candidate that was worth what I get.

This might be an angle we can use.
There was a quote by Kentucky State Treasurer Jonathan Miller (D) that goes-
“The Democratic Party might not be the party for every statin in this country. But in a state like Kentucky, where more families are in lower and middle incomes, this should be a Democratic state.”

We need to yank NObama’s support right out from under him. We need to make it obvious to these lower income people that they are being used.

It would be great if someone with far more money than I have access to could start a company in these times to give people work and show them what Capitalism is and what hand outs are.

I guess I am just an idealist who doesn’t want to see a civil war in this age of bioweapons, smart bombs and MOABs.

where is Dan the Infidel to scream at me when I need him…

  • Chuck O

Boohoo. You actually thought Obama was going to help you? Just words. Just speeches.
