ABC’s ‘V’: Obama Parable?

“The world’s in bad shape, Father. Who wouldn’t welcome a savior right now?”

Aliens arrive offering “hope” and telling us not to be afraid of “change.”

To grab power they set out to manipulate the media and create a culture of devotion around themselves.

But they are not who they appear to be.

In fact, they’re out to destroy our way of life.

Hmmm???

Either someone’s activated our right-wing sleeper agents at ABC or the network has no idea what they’ve created and will soon realize they are now stuck with a second multi-million dollar miniseries that can’t be released on DVD.

UPDATE: I just realized that it looks as though ABC is portraying a Priest as a hero. Odd.

I looked outside and there’s only one sun, so my initial theory of waking up in a more just universe isn’t the answer… I’ll have to count moons tonight.

    In the original movie the Earthlings win.

    What if, in this one, the bad guys are the ‘resistance’ and, in the end, we find out that the aliens are just, well, alien but friends…

    No. That’s just too conspiracy theory…right?

    I remember when V first came out. I remember how interested people were. I also remember how many people started talking about Hitler and the similarities (remember that one of the main characters was a Holocaust survivor-if I remember correctly, the ‘father’ comment was directed to him, not a ‘Father’.

    This is definitly high on the creepy index.

    I loved this show when it came out. I hope like hell they do well by it.

    I also heard that the lead alien is a half black guy that spouts about change and hope all the time.

    Funny thing is, if we get a look at Barry’s Birth Certificate, will it prove him an alien from another country? How funny would that be?

    HA! That is just too rich! Just substitute with Obama and Dems and it flows perfectly to today’s reality.

    Nice to see this redone. The original was one of my favorite mini-series.

    Something smells fishy here. Is Hollywood trying to goad(inspire) the conservatives into actually emulating the resistance so the Feds can go ahead with the big put down? I smell a rat.

      It has been my belief, since Dan the Infidel times, that there has been an attempt to draw ‘us’ out.

      It is almost like the liberals have this caricature in mind of a looney Right wing nut and they think with the right bait they can lure ‘it’ out into the open.

      I have often wondered about these nut case spree killers and how difficult it might be to ‘direct’ these wing nuts and then point to them as a reason for restrictions.

      Also, it was obvious to me that the BATF dressed up as David Koresh’s worst nightmare then knocked on his front door and, in my opinion, received a bit more than they expected.

      I am wondering if Wigpeeler is right in this case…
      I mean, wow…Holy Coincidence, Batman!
