Alinsky playbook…

Politico:

Key White House allies on Wednesday are launching a television ad called “Justice” to build support for confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.

The spot from the Coalition for Constitutional Values reflects a strategy of keeping the focus on the nominee and why President Barack Obama chose her, in an effort to keep the public from viewing confirmation as a fight between opposing political camps over particular issues.

The coalition — made up of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, Alliance for Justice and People for the American Way — says it made a significant initial six-figure buy that will begin running on national network news and cable news Wednesday.

The only words spoken during the 30-second spot are from the president: “I will seek somebody with a sharp and independent mind. … Someone who understands that justice isn’t about some abstract legal theory- it is also about how our laws affect the daily realities of peoples’ lives. … Whether they can make a living and care for their families. Whether feel safe in their homes. … I will seek somebody who is dedicated to the rule of law; who shares my respect for the constitutional values on which this nation was founded.”

Type on the screen says: “Supreme Court Nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor … Princeton Univ. & Yale Law. … First Appointed by George H.W. Bush in 1991. … U.S. Court of Appeals, 11 Years. … Lost her father at age 9. … Raised in public housing by a working mom, who taught her the power of education. Tough Prosecutor. Distinguished Judge. Practical Understanding of the Law. … Principled. Fair-Minded. Independent. Keeping Faith with our Constitutional Values.”

Three well-known progressive leaders are the co-chairs of the Coalition for Constitutional Values:

Wade Henderson, president of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights: “This spot introduces the American people to Judge Sonia Sotomayor. Every aspect of American life is affected by our justice system. It’s important that they understand her fair-minded approach to the law which is grounded both in her eminent legal qualifications and her life experiences.”

Nan Aron, president of Alliance for Justice: “In selecting Judge Sotomayor, the president has nominated a candidate of sterling credentials who will uphold the Constitution and the law. We commend President Obama for choosing a brilliant and fair-minded jurist to serve on our nation’s highest court. Judge Sotomayor is precisely the kind of nominee we need – one who, as President Obama described, ‘has the intellectual firepower but also a little bit of a common touch and has a practical sense of how the world works.’”

Michael B. Keegan, president of People for the American Way: “President Obama used this opportunity to do exactly what he promised in last year’s election—to select a person who has demonstrated an abiding commitment to core constitutional values of justice, opportunity, and equality under the law. He has named someone who understands the impact that the law has on the everyday lives of ordinary Americans.”

They expect us to believe she’s Obama’s symbol of “moderatism” the MSM keeps spewing?

    There went my breakfast.

Well, he found someone who shares his “respect for the constitutional values on which this nation was founded”. He doesn’t have any respect for thema and neither does she.

As far as being dedicated to the rule of law, I ask who’s law? The laws defined by the Constitution or the laws as thought up on a case-by-case basis?

If this nominee has a better half I want him to cry after the interrogation she will get from all the tough questions she has never been asked. Whats that there won’t be any tough questions,I’ll be darned. Oh dopey me, thinking I have a voice in this battle.

Yeah, they’ll do things like that. That’s why ACCDF needs a media campaign as well. That takes money. Are we going to raise money for these kinds of things? Do we already have any equipment and media talent? It was once said we would have a media arm to ACCDF.

Sad thing is….the useful idiots will dance with joy and believe every word this POS says. The RINO’S will surrender in French fashion without a shot being fired

 If you follow Alinsky, the “Coalition’s” correct name in reality is: Coalition for the Abolishment of Constitutional Guarantees. Everyone must e-mail and ring phones off hooks; this woman is racist, she supported Norman Thomas, a 5X candidate for president on the American Socialist Party ticket. On the other hand, she would be a great pick in NAZI Germany or Fascist Italy during WW2.

“Coalition for Constituional Values”? No, that doesn’t sound like some phony made-up dot org now, does it? This one reeks to high heaven of “astroturfing” at the highest level. AssholeRod is the king of astroturfing and worked for plenty of big, eeeeevil corporations in advancing their interests.

This ad is a load of shit. Sotameyer herself readily admits to legislating from the bench and even has a little “tee hee” moment over it.

The Federal Reserve is NOT a Federal agency.

The Coalition for Constitutional Values, if they support Sotomayor, is by definition NOT for Constitutional values.

Liars wearing the camouflage of decency; thieves pretending to be upstanding citizens; enemies of the state pretending to be patriots. These people are like bad magicians that show all their tricks but still expect to get away with their b.s.

I really hope that the majority of Americans can/will see through these hack attempts at brainwashing….

We will see the true colors of our so-called “leaders” in Congress when the confirmation hearings start. More of the same rubber stamp/I didn’t read the material, or how can I know everything in her background is what I expect, but then maybe there is a ghost of a chance that someone will start asking the tough questions and hold this puppet’s feet to the fire. The big question is: who is the puppeteer?

This endorsement is Pravda-grade propaganda, pure and simple. Well suited to the Third Reich. Will the deliberate dumbing down of the masses suppress the truth? Will the apathetic voter wake up?

She’ll walk. She’s a judge, no? She is an officer of the court. What heat will the Bar and ACLU cause her? Her cases need to be reviewed as well. Obvious her dumb ass mouth has her in my book as the subject of a very serious ethics investigation. She is a racist. If she were white, she would be the topic of every media show for weeks.

I must admit they are audacious to employ “constitutional values” in their name - when this woman, her boss to be, and the legal culture she comes out of absolutely rejects what the Founders put in the U.S. Constitution.

But with a public that is now mostly unfamiliar with our government and its founding principles, the Obama operatives can employ this blatant rope-a-dope.

They are afraid of the spotlight being on the merits of her actual legal reasoning (or defects thereof)and the quality of her work. She’s going to be put on the Court, of that there is no doubt. However, the Republicans could at least make their questioning of her a laser like exercise in precise facts about her record, her words, and her published writings. The best thing would be to NOT engage in histrionic rhetoric like what Ted Kennedy did to Bork back in 1987. Stick to the facts. Subtract any dramatic sarcasm. That way the media will have a thin gruel to try to use against the Republicans vis-a-vis Hispanics. And Republicans had better remind the Hispanics that the Democrats sank the nominations of a couple of far more superior Hispanic legal minds.

This woman is second-rate, at best.
