I get these fuckers every other year, and the latest attack I had lasted for over a month, 6-8 attacks a day. They really mess you up, because, with me, REM sleep triggers them, and I never get anything resembling sleep. I don’t know what the side effects of taking too much Imitrex are, but I’m sure to experience them, as I spend upwards of $4,000 on it every time these attacks start.
The guy explaining about the icepick jamming away in your head is right on target, and I have never, ever experienced such brutal, gnawing pain in my life.
Suicide headaches are a very good nickname for these, as you will try anything in your power to get the pain to stop. I wouldn’t wish these on my most hated enemy.
Mrs. Scoot
Being the spouse of a Cluster Headache sufferer, in a nutshell it sucks! I just experienced it for the first time at his last cycle, and was clueless at what to do, but after reading up on it, I am more prepared now, if God forbid, another cycle hits.
It is the hardest thing in the world watching the person you love most in world suffer like that. The helpless feeling is the worst, and I would not even wish that on MY worst enemy. I would hope there would be breakthrough treatments for this. It seems that this is finally coming full circle and Cluster Headaches are being recognized as a real issue. Whereas they were dismissed for many years as Migraines, etc. I didn’t know anything about them till I met Scoot, so it is still a learning experience.

These sound like they suck big time? Can they be artificially induced? how would that be for an enhanced interrogation technique….
And oh by the way, Ms. Pelosi…Have we got a treat for you.
