 GRIZZ

Im a dope smoker, but Im no dummy GRIZZ  .

How did this become a Ron Paul debate. Paul was just a guy who was trying to get some attention to the real issues as he saw them. Which leads me to believe this guy is honest if not the sharpest tool in the shed. DTOM, i appreciate your sentiments, however i do not believe or support paul in his estimation that it has been our behavior in the 20th century that has created the 21st century terrorist threat, when in reality the terrorist threat was created by Islamic fanatics who believe in the Koran and what it teaches. Islam is easily manipulated for political gain, and in the creation of enemies to pin all your troubles to. Today, and even when Islam was first being preached, it was the Jews who were, and are still, culpable for all the worlds ills.

Why avoid Ron Paul supporters? They are some of the most fervent supporters of the Constitution and Capitalism.

No revolution is monolithic. To be successful, you need to have a big tent.

So you have as a Senator for South Carolina a pro-military, mostly conservative Republican in Lindsey Graham instead of a Democrat in Bon Conley. You are far, far better off. Regardless of how conservative Conley may have been in the past at home, once a Democrat gets to Washington D.C., he is expected to toe the line. Rahm Emmanuel offers what amounts to a pact with the Devil, and he demands payment upon arrival in Washington D.C..

Graham is right now going after Pelosi. Don't kid yourself that Conley would do the same. Graham voted against Obama's budget and bailout bills. Don't kid yourself that Conley would have done the same.

McCain voted against every bailout? What about the first one under Bush?

He actually helped get it passed after adding $150 billion in bribes/pork to get enough of the Republicans to go a along with it.

He also supports amnesty and played a big role in Medicare Part D. He is hardly a fiscal conservative.

As far as the 9/11 attacks, have you read his book? What he says is that we need to understand why we were attacked, which is reasonable.

If you are going to fight a war, you need to understand what motivates the enemy.

Bottom line, I am convinced the no terrorist can ever cause as much damage to our country as we are doing to ourselves. And it is being done by republicans and democrat alike. McCain is no exception.

The single greatest threat to our the freedom, prosperity, and liberty in America is the Federal government. At least in my opinion.

As much as I would like to see freedom, liberty, etc. in Iraq and Afghanistan, my first priority is America. And someone like Ron Paul is MUCH better prepared to do that than McCain.

Also, Ron Paul actually is sounding like a traditional republican/conservative when it comes to foreign policy issues.

Thanks for your service DTOM,

The whole issue just seems more like splitting hairs for political purposes to me... Ron Pauls stand on National Defense was far too weak, imagine him as president during WW2? Or 9/11?

Have mistakes been made? Sure, but I can't buy into the whole cynical viewpoint, it becomes a slippery slope of responsibility... That is best left to later debate and history to sort out, right now there is a threat to this country like never seen before sitting in the white House!

No more RINO's, at the very least! There should be a blood bath in the Republican Party purging all fo these RINO's from positions of political power. Gentlemen farmers was the term in the good old days, today it's Joe the Plumber. Get THOSE guys elected for a single or double term and no more.

Be careful which tea party you attend. Some are sponsored, organized and run by Ron Paul supporters. All of his people seem to have a good heart, but we don't need the white-noise-level raised. Let's agree to support actual conservatives willing to back the Constitution and Capitalism.

The RonPaul-bots will usurp the message if you let them.

With John McCain, you would have had a supremely capable Commander in Chief, which in time we will be very sorry not to have. McCain is very knowledgeable and experienced concerning foreign policy, military matters and national security. And, by the way, McCain has voted against every Obama bailout and budget bill, denouncing the multi-trillion dollare deficit spending as "generational theft."

As good as Ron Paul may seem on domestic issues, he sounds like a Democrat on foreign policy issues. Saying that we invited by our policies the 9/11 attacks, which is what Ron Paul said, is just nonsense. The same foreign policy and national security problems that we will have with Obama as President, we would have with Ron Paul as President.
