Well, hell’s bells: let’s give Nancy a go at it …

Maybe it’s just me, but I keep wondering why this guy didn’t just hold his breath at “1.” I’ve never been through it so I’m sure I’m missing something. My guess is it probably doesn’t matter because the water goes straight down your windpipe. But he didn’t cough at all. Something about this seems strange.

Can anybody who’s been through SERE training or anyone else shed any light on this?

He admitted he was ready to cave after just lying down on the table for crying out loud.

I talked to a CIA operator involved in 2002 capture of first high level Al Queda member in Pakistan. This CIA guy(John Kriakou) went through the SERE training and said he was incredibly sore from the experience and that he definitely considers it torture.

We were waterboarded while I was at Sere at NAS Brunswick Maine (well not really Brunswick but that is where you check in to) in April, and the cold is torture enough.

Torture is a relative term, I find someone playing loud rap music or that mexican crap torture but, thats me.

Been in the little box, waterboarded, beat down, etc. Its easy to call this torture, granted its unpleasant and it was probably the toughest training I have ever endured but, there is a purpose behind it. It was to prepare us in the likelyhood we get shot down and taken prisoner. Thank god that never happened. And to tell you the truth if it had ever happened the thought of getting waterboarded would have been the least of my worries.

That SERE course is just up by Rangeley.

You can hold your breath but its going to fill up your sinus cavity and burn like a motherfucker. We used to do sit ups on the side of the pool, feet up on the edge with someone on them you lower yourself vertical then sit up capitalizing on the resistance of the water and the breath control it takes to keep your sinuses from filling up. Having not done it right on a few occasions let me assure you, its six flavors of suck. It is also panic inducing, instantly for the most part.

The shit is fucking torture, no doubt about it and anyone who says otherwise is blowing smoke up your ass. Its no different than holding someone underwater, only considerably less pleasant. By that same not it is not power tools, vice grips and blow torches either…

For me thou if making someones life unpleasant for 15 or 20 minutes can save some lives I am all for it. But then again my view of such things is from the ground itself, not the “Moral High Ground”. Course why we pulled all that scum out of there country of origin and took them to Gitmo leaves me baffled, but that’s a bitch.

I didnt see where the torture was with Mancow. He under water for 5 seconds at most.
I hear its the fear of drowning, that makes it effective.
I dont understand why he had his mouth open. He knew he was going to get watered down. As soon as he grabs my nose I hold my breath.
Why he would volunteer, to be overly doused with water is beyond me.

According to Director CIA, General Michael Hayden, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed held out FOR 40 SECONDS THE FIRST TIME HE WAS WATER-BOARDED.

That should give everyone an idea of just how BAD-ASS and or HARD-CORE the Al-Qaeda terrorists really are.
    …………………………………………

Like the Bashman once said here(I think) … “they (Al-Qaeda) are not at Gitmo for committing crimes … they’re at Gitmo FOR WAGING WAR AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
    ……………………………..
Me – In a just world… every prisoner at Gitmo would have already been executed by firing squad.

    That’s right… A JUST WORLD!
    ………………………………..

BTW – Mancow’s a pussy. In the next three years, all over the net, there will be Frat House Videos of pledges going through a hazing process that includes water-boarding.

Most will last longer than (the pussy) Mancow’s 5 or 6 seconds.

    :gun: :gun: :gun: :gun:
