Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to Meet with Leaders of Egypt and Jordan Prior to Meeting with President Obama
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to Egypt tomorrow (May 11) to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in the Sinai resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. It will be his first trip abroad since becoming prime minister in March and underlines the importance Netanyahu places on Israel’s relationship with Egypt.
Netanyahu’s visit to Egypt comes a week before he is due in Washington D.C. to meet with President Obama on May 18, where the Iranian and Palestinian issues will be the main topics for discussion.
Iran’s nuclear program is set to be a major topic for discussion between Netanyahu and Mubarak. The Israeli prime minister will seek support from Mubarak to halt Tehran’s uranium enrichment. Netanyahu recently stated that the Iranian nuclear drive represents a common danger to Israel, Arab countries in the Middle East and nations in the wider world. Netanyahu stressed that Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
Said PM Netanyahu of his forthcoming meeting with President Mubarak in his recent address to the AIPAC conference, “We seek expanded relations with the Arab world. We want normalization of economic ties and diplomatic ties. We want peace with the Arab world…I believe it is possible to achieve it, but I think it requires a fresh approach, and the fresh approach that I suggest is pursuing a triple track towards peace between Israel and the Palestinians - a political track, a security track, an economic track.”
Discussions will also cover the issue of Israel-Palestinian negotiations. Netanyahu stated at the AIPAC conference in May that he was adopting a fresh approach of triple-track diplomacy, which entails working together with U.S. President Barack Obama and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, towards achieving peace with the Palestinians.
Netanyahu may also meet with King Abdullah of Jordan this week, although a date has not yet been set. Iran will also be a topic of deliberation in any meeting between the two leaders.
Following his meeting with Netanyahu, Obama is scheduled to address the Arab world when visiting Egypt on June 4, where he will hold discussions with Mubarak on regional issues.

I want to state that Patriotic Americans have greater faith in Netanyahu, than the Pussy In Chief Obongo. I am unable to state in clearer terms my absolute disgust with the so-called president and his administration. God, being jealous over His people, must wean them off of American support. What I mean is, that America has been such a supporter of Israel that they look to us for help, and not to God. If we must have a problem with the relationship between God and His people, I would rather it be one that we help too much, instead of persecuting them, like so many other countries, kingdoms, and empires have done in the past. Having said all that, I still fear for my country in that we have been deserving of Divine discipline for shedding innocent blood, arrogant perversion, greed, and a host of other sins that God has disciplined other nations for in the past. I think that our support for Israel has been delaying a much needed Divine rebuke. All this is very painful to watch. Gird your loins brothers.
