In addition to being one of the speakers along with Rep. Duncan Hunter, Navy Seal Hero Marcus Luttrell, Somali Pirate Hostage Crisis hero Captain Phillips and others, Gathering of Eagles has asked me to Emcee the re-scheduled Victory in Iraq Day event on the Washington Mall. I was flattered and told them so, but told them I felt we could get a bigger name, and offered to go to work on a few possibilities. We are now targeting a date around November 4, re-scheduled from June 13.

09:53

Jenny-O, me, and Andrew Breitbart are beginning work on a book called “Girls Just Wanna Have Guns”.

23:28

We are now planning on November 7 for VI Day. Dead center between the anniversary of Obama’s election, and Veteran’s Day.

GOE has asked me to take over responsibility for putting the event together, and I’ve agreed.

Girls and guns…makes an old mans heart feel young again

  • T-Bagg

    0953,
I can pre-order that shit right?

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Don’t you have a direct pipeline? Why would you have to pay?

    • Master-Blaster

don’t make me not speak to you Pat.

  • amy

Money wise, there’s no way I could’ve made it to the one planned in June. Hopefully I’ll get my overtime back by November and can make it.

  • Ranger

Let’s make it happen this time. :gun:

  • American Woman

Should have never been canceled but glad it is being rescheduled!!
    Book sounds cool

    • http://dcprotestwarrior.blogspot.com concretebob

AW, we should have gotten the funding that was promised in March. I can’t plan a Rally without funding.
Pat, good luck with this. I’ve resigned as GoE Special Events Coordinator, but if you need logistical support, cclezel (Carter) gave you my number.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      concretebob

      I did.

  • Bob USMC

November 4th is on a Wednesday, that’ll definitely keep lots of people away.

You might want to try for a weekend date if you want it to be huge attendance from all around the country. Personally, I’ll be there regardless since it’s near my home, I’m just thinking of others who have to travel to D.C., and also work during the week.

And, who will cover for Pat on the BTR show. I’d do it, but apparently I’m just too phukking violent for those pussy-ass metrosexual liberal fembots on BTR. They haven’t seen squat diddly.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

I posted that we’re targeting Saturday the 7th.

    • Bob USMC

LOL, maybe it was just my dyslexia kicking in.

I’ll be there regardless, and our non-prof would still like to be involved as well, just like we were going to be with GOE’s event. By then, we should be rockin’ and rollin’ and hopefully have some decent sponsorship funds to work with to put on some real kick ass music for the troops….. :gun:

  • Johnny Doe

Damn I’m glad to see this is back on. Even tentatively. The cancellation and the circumstances surrounding it are a signpost on the road to perdition. In all seriousness, it’s folks like you who are this nation’s last hope, Pat.

    • Johnny Doe

…And Bob and everybody else who’s getting ACTIVE.

  • http://www.thebandofmothers.com Beverly

God Bless You Pat! Thank You. I know this will be the BEST rally ever thrown for our troops. We will all make this a HUGE success! By getting ACTIVE!!!!

Thank you again! These brave Soldiers so need to hear from a grateful nation!

  • Sandy

I am thrilled the rally is back on!
I do not want to miss that for any reason.
One way or another, I will be there!

  • kim

    Hey Pat,

Count me in for help with the VI Day: logistics, admin, whatever, let me know. I’m sure all of us in ACTIVE can be a help.

As for that book–a big Congrats! About time. As a woman who never held a handgun a year ago, and is now shooting USPSA competitions with grand enthusiasm, I applaud your decision. I’m shooting because of the NRA’s “Women On Target” program and now know I am fully capable of defending myself and my home. Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned or a woman well armed and confident!

Thanks to everyone. Let’s git ‘er dun.

Speaking of Victory in Iraq. The other night Sevendust put on a show here. Yeah, I was there… No, we weren’t allowed to mosh. Yeah, they flew around on my planes (I wasn’t on that flight.) The crew on that flight even hooked ‘em up with shooting the .50 cal.
Took me five years to go to any sort of USO event.

    • Bob USMC

In my three years in the Marine Corps, the USO only showed one time, and honestly, it really wasn’t much at all. They set up a boxing ring and we had smokers/fights, and maybe a couple of girls in dresses hanging around, and I think a cookout. No bands, not even one, not much of anything else. The USO has had over 200 million dollars in donations in the last 5 years. For $200 mil, we could do a lot more entertainment wise than that. Not trying to knock the USO, they do other things, but once in 5 years for you, once in 3 years for me, no bands, etc etc. I know I could do better for the troops with 200 million in funds as far as music goes, being a professional musician, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind.

That’s partly why me and my buddy started up our non-profit ConcertsForTroops.Org, we WILL put on great music for our troops.

As the Musical Director for ConcertsForTroops, my goal is to go anywhere and everywhere to entertain the troops with kick ass HIGH QUALITY quality music, there will absolutely NO Britney Spears pop slop bullcrap “music” here!!!

    Good Story.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Salena Zito is a Great American.

    • mike3481

Yes, and she can hit for average and has a great throwing arm.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      Hmmmm…..

    • mike3481

(S.F. Giant Pitcher Barry) “Zito had secured for the Marines a section of seats directly behind home plate, and when the Marine Corps Hymn was played during the fifth inning, the Marines stood at attention. The crowd (12,000 to 15,000) followed suit with a standing ovation.

What happened next was detailed in a letter that Williams sent to Zito upon getting the troops back to San Diego…”

Supporting the Troops? What? Are you guys Patriotic or something? That tears it. I’m turning all of you in to the Nappy-Headed Janet Napoleanitanio Bitch!

    • SgtJenz

Yup. No need to turn us in though, I’ll just bet you, me and a whole bunch of others that hang here are already in the top 100 on Nappy’s list. Some may be near the top, perhaps in the top 20.

When at public gatherings just smile  for the camera and say hi to Nappy-ho.

    Swordless Sailors
Washington Times Inside the Beltway ^ | May 21, 2009 | John McCaslin

SWORDLESS SAILORS Graduating midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis are being told in writing to leave at home or in their vehicles all “ceremonial swords” and anything else “that might be considered a weapon or a threat by screeners” for Friday’s outdoor commencement ceremonies featuring an address by President Barack Obama. Inside the Beltway has obtained the academy’s list of prohibited items for this year’s graduation exercises, which, besides ceremonial swords, includes umbrellas. Yes, cell phones and texting are still allowed.

    more. . .

    Nothing short of surreal.

  • Johnny Doe

I wish to extend the deepest honor and gratitude to all the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for their brothers, their country, and our freedom. You are gone but not forgotten.

To everyone who holds high the torch — Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

“In Flanders Fields,” Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)

Have the boys told you yet that it’s going to be a “Coffee Table” book and ALL the girls will be wearing micro-bikinis?

    Just a heads-up.

  • mike3481

Actually I thought you’d be the project’s Editor with the power to over-rule the boys as to what would or wouldn’t be sent to the publisher.

BTW, if ya’ll are just having some silly fun about the book, consider this, what’s-his-face over at F-U-penguin.com has announced that HIS book deal went through and his book’s coming out on August 15th. Either that or he’s lying, we’ll see.

PS – If the book is in fact a serious endeavor, please consider including famous cars from the movies. It might increase sales by a double digit percentage.

    Anyways,

  • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

This is a serious venture, and there will be no girls in bikini with guns, etc.

We are promoting responsible gun ownership amongst women.

  • Bob USMC

Damn, I always took girls in bikinis with guns very, very seriously.  :gun:

  • Bob USMC
  • Sandy

    WooooHooo!
    Whay to go Jenny!
The book will inspire many women.

  • Sandy

    . . . should be “way”

  • Sandy

LOL! I am so tired all the time I make dumb spelling mistakes!
