Micah Sifry reports that an effort at government openness seems to have been swamped by questions about Obama’s birth certificate:

    Legitimate, Constitutional concerns by the citizens of this country to know the truth about Obama’s eligibility for the office he has occupied, shouldn’t be downplayed with ridicule, but those who do not hold the U.S. Constitution dear to them, and those who are not abiding by the Oath they took, are those that show such contempt towards those who seek the truth. If those elected/appointed officials who took an Oath to the Constitution, so easily spit on it now, over a birth certificate, what else might these cowards do when truly called upon by their nation?     Saul Alinsky in action. Give your opposition a catchy and derogatory label “Birthers”. Then slander the group and their cause “conspiracy nuts”. Whatever you do, do not address the accusation, tell the truth or face reality.

    Personally, I would like to confirm a few things.

    1) Is there a difference between a certificate of live birth and a Birth Certificate in the State of Hawai’i?
    2) Did Obama’s grandmother actually say that she was there at the birth or is this a misquoted or made up quoted point?
    3) Is it true that Americans were prohibited from traveling to Pakistan with an American Passport when Obama went to Indonesia and Pakistan?
    4) Is there a reson given for sealing the college records? Have other Presidents released them? Aren’t PhD theses public domain?

    If this is all conspiracy theory nonsense then I don’t want it to cloud the real issues. If it is not, if there is truly something there, then I want that dealt with.

      1) Yes. Certificate is the real deal. Has doctor info, hospital, time of birth, weight, etc. Certification is just a short computer print out. On the Hawaii website they even tell you the difference.

      When Obama was born in 1961, Hawaii had in effect the Certificate of Hawaiian Birth Program which it established in 1911 and which it terminated in 1972. Someone could under Act 96 get a certificate claiming a Hawaiian birth even if he was physically born in Kenya by an adult or parent falsely claiming to the director of health that he was born in Hawaii when in fact he was born in Kenya. (this is a cut paste, not sure of the accuracy, a quick google could figure it out).

      2) Yup.

      3) I have no information on this.

      4) You would seal your records to hide your grades/information/student status. We had McCain’s grades and saw that he was at the bottom of the class (they even mocked it at his nomination – got a lot of demerits for dating loose women). To my knowledge the chosen one is not a PhD. Since Obama has already stated in his books that he was a bad student at Occidental college, did lots drugs, looked to hang out with radicals and fringe groups, I would have to guess that he is trying to cover up evidence that would show him stating he was a muslim or foreigner on some application/grant/scholarship.

    This issue really shows what pussies the repubs are. This could be the biggest leverage they could ever hope to have,yet they are willing to piss it away so they will be”liked”.Makes me want to hurl huge chunks.They will NEVER get it !!

    If this eventually comes out like i think it will,it will be the end of the democratic/illuminati machine forever.

    In unsealing college records, real father would be listed and I maintain Franklin Marshall Davis is the real daddy. Bracky strongly resembles him. Google pictures and see for yourselves. Bracky Sr was short and very dark, mom was short and very white. Bracky is very tall and light.

    Obama supporters either can’t read or refuse to. They prefer to attack the messenger and ignore the message. For certain, they don’t give a darn about the Constitution. This is not only a sad situation for our country to be in, but a dangerous one. If the truth doesn’t matter, then what does?

    The certificate of Hawaiian birth required a one-year delay before being applied for. Obama’s birth was registered four days after his birth. Therefore a certificate of Hawaiian birth cannot be in his file.

    Americans were not prohibited either by the US government or the Pakistan government from traveling to Pakistan, which was relatively peaceful in 1981. It encouraged tourists with automatic 30-day visas at the airports, and there were travel articles in US newspapers about scenic Lahore and Pakistan International Airlines flew from New York to Karachi.

    So, Obama could travel to Pakistan on a US passport, just like any other America. And he did. He never had an Indonesian passport. Just call up the Indonesian embassy in Washington and ask.

    In addition, the two officials of Hawaii who looked into his file said that there was “an original birth certificate in the file.” Then the PR representative of the Department of Health of Hawaii responded to a question of the Chicago Tribune. Does this mean that Obama was born in Hawaii, it asked. And she replied YES.

    Also, it could not have been a foreign birth certificate in the files because in 1961 Hawaii did not allow the Department of Health to register births that were outside of Hawaii.

    Re the grandmother. LISTEN to the complete tape. She is asked was she present when he was born in Kenya? She answers YES, and this is where the legend begins. But that question was translated, and we do not know whether the right words were used in the African language that was used. It could have been “was she present in Kenya when he was born?’

    So to make sure, the interviewer asked a simple question: Whereabouts was he born? And she replies: “America, Hawaii.”

    Here is the complete interview with the grandmother on Berg’s site. Be sure to listen for the full tape, especially just after the five-minute mark, when she is asked “Whereabouts was he born?”
