Gallup:

PRINCETON, NJ — Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.

These annual figures are based on multiple national Gallup surveys conducted each year, in some cases encompassing more than 40,000 interviews. The 2009 data are based on 10 separate surveys conducted from January through May. Thus, the margins of error around each year’s figures are quite small, and changes of only two percentage points are statistically significant.

To measure political ideology, Gallup asks Americans to say whether their political views are very conservative, conservative, moderate, liberal, or very liberal. As has been the case each year since 1992, very few Americans define themselves at the extremes of the political spectrum. Just 9% call themselves “very conservative” and 5% “very liberal.” The vast majority of self-described liberals and conservatives identify with the unmodified form of their chosen label.

The fucking “moderates” are liberals who don’t have the balls to just admit it. Moderates actually think that 0bama is a moderate.

My thoughts exactly. I know people who call themselves moderates who, when I take stock of their views, really are liberals. In fact, in all likelihood probably half of all self-described “moderates” are really liberals.

Instead of asking people to describe themselves you should ask how they think across a range of issues and then you will know exactly what they are.

      Ditto.

      I know because I’m a convert.
I came from a family with a school janitor and a factory worker. All Libs (Label moderates)
The funny thing is my Mother, Father and myself parted ways a while ago.(not mean or angry we were just far apart) And we all had the same epiphany.

The government could give a dam except for their own power.
I don’t know who really tipped them off but for me it was Tom Daschle, I argued with him twice about deficet spending and he really was grand at talking out both sides of his mouth. They really hate it when you listen and quote back their own statements to them.
That was the eye and ear opener.
      No Moderate ME.

Barry Soetero is the poster child for the say whatever let me grab more power.

I don’t want to run the banks.
I don’t want to run the car companys.
I don’t want to run healthcare.
I don’t want to run the papers.
I don’t want to run the internet.
I think Iran should have nuclear, you know, power.
(Let’s see what else do I want? Hah! everything! I gots mine Biatch!)

  3. Perhaps we will see that COnservative Tsunami rise to the occasion.

    Michael Nedved = Moderate

  5. I think they left me out(very conservative? not hardly, more like ultra conservative!)…I’m further right that Rush, Sean, Michael, or my latest talk show host, Andrew Wilkow! (Satelite radio’s best!)
We’re Right, They’re Wrong! End of story! (Andrew’s favorite saying just before going into commericial break.)

Moderates are those who go onto the field of battle and kill those wounded by the Conservatives/Liberals. In nearly every case, I have found most Moderates to be know-nothing, uninformed, unthinking dolts.

Imagine how large the conservative group would be if we had an impartial media, and educational system and entertainment industry!

  9. Ivan the Kafir

Imagine how different things would be if people learned to understand the political system along lines of LIBERTY and POWER. A conservative desires liberty and power for the people. The liberal wishes to consolidate power under the government and snatch away the liberty of the people.

The trend is moving up…That’s good

 Whoa, it’s going to be quite a job for Obama to murder 40% of the population to fulfill his plans. Hope he’s up to it. That’s a lot of ovens and gas!
