Hillary Contradicts Obama Who Allies With Communist Dictators Against New Honduras Government

Gee, now why does Obama think that the Honduran military dispatching a shadily-elected, oppressive Leftist government sets a “terrible precedent”. Like the situation in Iran, it cuts too close to home, it is his worst personal nightmare.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama said on Monday the coup that ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya was illegal and would set a “terrible precedent” of transition by military force unless it was reversed.

“We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the president of Honduras, the democratically elected president there,” Obama told reporters after an Oval Office meeting with Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

Zelaya, in office since 2006, was overthrown in a dawn coup on Sunday after he angered the judiciary, Congress and the army by seeking constitutional changes that would allow presidents to seek re-election beyond a four-year term.

The Honduran Congress named an interim president, Roberto Micheletti, and the country’s Supreme Court said it had ordered the army to remove Zelaya.

The European Union and a string of foreign governments have voiced support for Zelaya, who was snatched by troops from his residence and whisked away by plane to Costa Rica in his pajamas.

Obama said he would work with the Organization of American States and other international institutions to restore Zelaya to power and “see if we can resolve this in a peaceful way.”

“TERRIBLE PRECEDENT”

“It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition, rather than democratic elections,” Obama said, noting the region’s progress in establishing democratic traditions in the past 20 years.

Despite Obama’s comments, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the administration was not formally designating the ouster as a military coup for now, a step that would force a cut-off of most U.S. aid to Honduras.

Under U.S. law, no aid — other than for the promotion of democracy — may be provided to a country whose elected head of government has been toppled in a military coup.

“We do think that this has evolved into a coup,” Clinton told reporters, adding the administration was withholding that determination for now.

Asked if the United States was currently considering cutting off aid, Clinton shook her head no.

The State Department said it was unable to immediately say how much assistance the United States gives Honduras.

The State Department has requested $68.2 million in aid for fiscal year 2010, which begins on October 1, up from $43.2 million. This covers funds for development, Honduran purchases of U.S. arms, military training, counter-narcotics and health care but does not include Defense Department aid, a U.S. official said.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said he did not believe Obama had spoken to Zelaya since the ouster.

He said the administration had worked in recent days to try to prevent the coup from happening, and “our goal now is on restoring democratic order in Honduras.”

OBAMA CRITICISM

Analysts said quick criticism of the coup by Obama and Clinton on Sunday pleased Latin American countries bitter about the long history of U.S. intervention in the region.

The Obama administration’s stance contrasted with the equivocal position taken in 2002 by former President George W. Bush’s administration, which was seen as tacitly accepting a coup against Venezuela’s leftist President Hugo Chavez.

A senior U.S. official who spoke on condition he not be named said that by holding off on a legal determination that a coup has taken place, Washington was trying to provide space for a negotiated settlement.

“If we were able to get to a … status quo that returned to the rule of law and constitutional order within a relatively short period of time, I think that would be a good outcome,” Clinton said.

THIS event in Honduras is a big, big deal!!!

We’re literally on the verge of a world wide conflict between us and them(marxist/socialista’s).

This action bothers Obama The Worthless because he’s obviously one of the marxists, and it’s what could clearly happen here to him.

    “..Oh happy day…..”

I think you are right on the money Bob.

Maybe he’s thinking the military here has him in their sights.

Thing of it is, Hilarity Clinton ought to know that “constitutional order” WAS restored in Honduras.

The Hondurans CLEARLY followed THEIR Constitution in enforcing term limits, unlike Chavez in Venezuela, who manipulated in order to stay in power.

How plain does it have to be for these useful idiot libcancers??

Outstanding article by Cliff Kincaid in the Canada Free Press, Honduras, not a coup, but patriots preserving their constitution.

Sorry, time to go off topic once again:

    The Emperor’s Seven Signing Statements

    http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/view/107892

“The sections of this latest law tossed out by Obama were ploys to win the bill’s passage, including requirements that he work to strengthen labor and environmental standards at, and report to congress on the activities of, the IMF and the World Bank. Unlike an emperor, an executive would be required by the U.S. Constitution to “take Care that the Laws by faithfully executed,” stated by candidate Barack Obama thus:

“I will not use signing statements to nullify or undermine congressional instructions as enacted into law.”

Obama’s first signing statement made part of the law his right to use the hundreds of billions of dollars appropriated in that bill in “new” and “far-reaching” ways that he would “initiate,” as well as the understanding that an “oversight board” created by the executive branch — rather than congress — would oversee the activities of the executive branch, or as Obama calls it “the Federal Government.”

Obama’s second signing statement declared his intention to violate dozens of sections of the law he was signing, including sections providing for the spending of funds, sections related to the creation of international treaties, and sections restricting retaliation against whistleblowers.

Obama’s third signing statement, on the “Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009,” announced his intention to violate requirements in the law related to the appointment of a government commission.

Obama’s fourth signing statement, on a bill creating a “Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission” threw out a requirement that the Emperor provide that commission with information.

Obama’s fifth signing statement was applied to a bill that created a commission and included on it six members of congress. The signing statement declared that those six commission members …

“will be able to participate only in ceremonial or advisory functions of [such a] Commission, and not in matters involving the administration of the act.”

Is it time to stop endlessly being “shocked” by these yet? Obama, like Bush, argues in his signing statements that the sections of law he intends to violate are unconstitutional. The problem is not that either one of these presidents is necessarily always wrong or that such questions can ever be decided to everyone’s satisfaction. The problem is that the Constitution requires the president to veto a bill or sign and faithfully execute it. The time to argue against the constitutionality of a provision is before a bill is passed or upon vetoing it. Such an argument can even be made upon signing a bill. It just can’t be accompanied by a declaration of the power to violate the law.”

Not as far off topic as one might think! If a leader is not acting within his country’s constitution…. we see what can happen.

This ‘Honduran coup’ brings to mind a comment I submitted on another blog post earlier this year – at the much scrutinized and subsequently debunked “Military to Pledge Oath To Obama, Not Constitution” post of January 30th, 2009.

Considering all that has happened since, I think my thoughts back then are most appropriate to our situation now – I quote:

“Judging from some of the comments here, I guess there is some skepticism has to the validity of this report.

But I’ll take it at face value, for now, so I can say something that needs to be said.

I vaguely remember the mass, and nonviolent, uprising in 1986 that led to the ousting of then Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos. No matter one’s personal views, then or now, concerning this particular ‘popular revolution’ – there is an important lesson there to be learned.

If and when it becomes obvious that our ‘new’ government – Obama’s Admin. & that Reid/Pelosi oligarchy in Congress – is attempting to rule over us rather then serve under us (as prescribed in the Constitution), the ‘Philippine example’ will be a good one to follow.

If Washington DC is clogged one day by multitudes of Patriots (a different sort of ‘free assembly’ then the usual ‘mob-of-activists’ we’re so accustomed to seeing)… real Americans, across the river, in the Pentagon will know what to do next.

This sort of ‘option’ must be our last-ditch, fall-back-on-to strategy. The myriad patriotic organizations in existence today, working ‘within the system’ in opposition to this increasingly tyrannical “statist” government, must begin planning for this ‘option’ now.

It is up to us – the ‘simple’ civilians of this nation – to come through for our…
    kowtowed so-so so-called ‘leaders’,
our brave service personnel ‘stranded’ overseas,
and our young and unborn descendants.

MAKE EM SHOW THE CERTIFIED BIRTH CERTIFICATE! and when he is proven that he is a usurper, prosecute and deport him and all those that helped him cover the eligibility issue up!!!! TRAITORS during WARTIME get what?

    • Hawkerdriver(Pisson the Koran)

You feel like I do about the COLB issue. To me this issue and it’s following cover-up should be the hub of all conservative’s plan to oust this 4th Reich in the making. This is the mother of all impeachment angles if only the media(especially Fox and talk radio) would report on it.Did you see the pathetic response Fox aired as a response to R.Murdoch’s former college classmate’s letter on same? 15 seconds of lip service and a vague response by robert gibbs on the matter. NOBODY want’s to touch this and I can’t figure out why.It is staring us right in the face.UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE !

The Law Triumphs in Honduras by John Fund in the WSJ is another good read, but the best part is the comment by Jon Bogran-an analogy between US and their situation.

I honor the bravery and heroic military patriots in Honduras!! I pray that the same devotion to the amercian constitution is restored among those in our military forces. I sincerely hope that courage is found again here and that our Nation, like Honduras, is restored to its constitutional basis in a similar fashion. Let the American Coup begin!

  • Giorgi

i wonder what will happen to georgia after obama-putin/medvedev meeting…i have bad feeling about this

    • FIU Alum

My prediction is an attack on Iran in Sept/Oct started by Israel and aided by US Special Forces and SEAL’s coming in from thier positioned bases in Western Afghanistan.

The wildcard is Russia who is clearly giving Iran Intelligence on US and Israeli troop movements and phone intercepts vis their extensive satellites.

Rememeber Ahmadinejad went straight to Russia that Sunday and Monday coincidentally when the riots started back in Theran.

Medvedev and Putin must have shown him the files that proved British US and Israeli involvement in the riots. Thats why Iran knew who to arrest when Ahmadinejad came back. (They was not a spontaneous uprising. That was planned for at least 2 years.)

So what you do is knock Russia off balance by starting the Georgia thing again against Russia as the US and Isarel attack Iran in Sept. It is all going to be coordinated (This was what was done to Germany in WW2. The US/Brits would coordinate their operations with Stalin to keep Germany off balance)

Russia just today had large scale operations in the Caucasus. They know and Iran knows whats coming.

This is going to get wild wild wild by Oct

Just study history from 1909 to 1945 it’s all your ever need to know about modern day tactics economics and startegy. It’s just all recycled.

    • FIU Alum

One more thing. The US and Western Press in general will keep the Iran story alive well passed Michael Faggot dying and all the other garbage stories.

Thats just the distraction for the masses.

Barry Soteoro his job is to destroy America from within thru Affirmative Action, Hate Crime Legislation, Gun Control, Expansion of the Watch Lists, Amnesty for Illegals Shitty National Healthcare etc etc”

The Pentagon CIA DIA etc actually are not even listening to him. He knows he challenges them and bam they will just get rid of him so he shuts up and dances for them.

Frankly I believe he cares only about his NEW face of America and remaking it his Marxist way.

    • Sully

You’re right to be concerned Giorgi.
Obama will not help Georgia in the U.S..
He will not be a friend to Your Georgia.

  • John Griffin

Could it be BHO is looking at Honduras and is really afraid that is what is in store for him and his Chicago Thugs when he trys to do what Zelaya did??
Since Gitmo is going to be empty soon wonder if we could ship the criminals from DC to the beautiful Island santuary so close to BHO’s hero Fidel—and yet so far away.

The condemnation by Obama of the legislative judiclal and military upholding Honduras’ constitution may be a trial balloon to see how we (among others possibly) react to the US backing a president ignoring the constitution of his country in seeking to maintain power past his legally eligible term.
Would we stand for it if Obama/DEMS?ACORN triumvirate didnt even bother to try and overturn the 22nd amendment but simply acclaimed as the dems candidate for a 3rd( 4th 5th 6th ?) term?
History shows we probably would.. we stood for the last 6 months of crap and he doesnt even have a Birth Cert…
exactly what IS is going to take? The White House and sec of state COMDEMN a democracy from protecting itself from an executive grabbing for unconstitutional power…shameful.
we are now officially in the company of hardcore leftists castro noriega and chavez…
“…and by their acts ye shall know them…”

  • prestonbrooks

 ACORN is threatening financial institutions in 14 cities today. If you will do some research, you will find they are being organized along the lines of the SA/Freikorps political shock battalions used so efficiently by NAZI Germany. These “troops” after full organizational capability is reached, will be used as political enforcers. If they follow the tactics of previous such forces, they will begin to physically attack anti-regime protestors (see Iran), institutions deemed “counter-revolutionary” by Kenyatta, and will be allowed to invade small businesses and private dwellings. The police will be overwhelmed and disarmed. The resulting chaos will then allow the Regime to pass further enabling acts to suppress and remove citizens deemed “counterrevolutionary” to some type of holding facilty, work camp, etc. Naturally, many citizens will react with justifiable violence. This will then allow the Regime to initiate Martial Law. At first, it may seem strange that the Regime would seek to destroy the basic foundations of the Republic. However, once Law is replaced by executive fiat, the Regime will have Absolute Power. Yes, America will be a “failed state” in the sense of a working country, but the type of despot Kenyatta is (see recent article in the American Spectator) does not care about the nation he controls. The goal of the narcissistic despotic personality is Control– even if the economy and institutions have collapsed. See Zimbabwe, Uganda under Amin, etc. Unless he can be removed by lawful means, the only possible outcome is a violent, bloody civil war. Kenyatta shares the same personality traits as Hitler. Hitler allowed the continual destruction of Germany until the Russians were 500 meters from his bunker. As events spiral out of control, the weak facets of the narcissistic personality come to the surface, and the despot then begins to devolve into a fantasy state of awareness. Hold on, folks, this could go into double-overtime.
