This doesn’t surprise me. If Kansas prison is anything like North Carolina it’s a step up for most. I worked at a the Salisbury Medium Security prison for about 2yrs. It’s a joke. They have birthday parties for these pukes, and on Christmas these charities bring in an exorbant amount of food for these bastard. The employees don’t get so much as a card wishing us a “Merry Fucking Christmas, enjoy your holiday working in prison so we can enjoy ours without these criminals stealing everything under the tree.” If we want food when we work on Christmas, we have to buy it and bring it in and share amongst eachother. Then of course there’s the 60 some channels of satellite TV, basketball, baseball, volleyball, horse shoes, weights, access to microwaves to heat up food they get from the canteen with money their family puts in an account for them. And God forbid you make them drink out of the sink in the middle of the night instead of coming out of their cell block to drink from the fountain. It’s sick, it’s not punishment, it’s a vacation.
