From the Jerusalem Post:

“Earlier Tuesday, Hamas said it foiled an attempt by Palestinian terrorists to assassinate former US president Jimmy Carter during his visit to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, Palestinian sources told news agencies.”

Israeli security sources said that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) had learned of plans to target Carter and had passed on the information to the former president’s security detail in “real time.”

According to Palestinian sources, terrorists linked with al Qaida hid a number of improved explosive devices along a road that Carter’s convoy was scheduled to travel on inside Gaza. Hamas forces reportedly uncovered the IEDs and destroyed them.

Ismail Shahwan, spokesman for the Hamas Ministry of the Interior, denied that an al Qaeda-linked group had planned to assassinate Carter.

Shawan said no explosives were discovered near the Erez border crossing. He said that the visit went according to the plan.

    I’ve wondered about this myself, as to who and when, and not “if”, people will be rejected, from reentering the USA.

    I saw a promo on Fox News the other night … the news casters or anchors (whatever they are called) speaking about the Consitution and the DoI. Then they called themselves the “Fox Nation” … That is when my head almost exploded … nothing against Fox but let’s see … we, everyone who posts and comments, have been calling ourselves the “Dollard Nation” for what? Five years? I knew you should have copyrighted the damn nickname. :lol:

    I’ve got a spook buddy who has a gunsealed carry in the state of Mn. and they made him wait 7 days just to pick up an enfeild receiver..not a gun…gun bits…ancient unfiring gun bits.
    He is back in the Army after being out awhile. he has a spotless background.

    At what point is the government going to admit that as ex and current military we are under their micro scope?
    a little peep came out in that Fed. report but they shut that up in a hurry.

    I suppose that the pledge we all took to “Defend the Constitution against enemys foreign and domestic” makes us suspect.

    Take into account the bulk of the combat arms is made up of fly over country types.

    I’ve done my time as a grunt and a contractor grunt.
    If I leave will I be allowed back in?

      In case that happens, plan “B” might be to pick someplace else you could hole up for awhile, brush up on the language, and do some research, maps, customs, culture, currency, etc… (Hint, if millions of illegals can do it). There’s some nice beaches along the coasts of Central America, just a thought…
