June 6, 1944

For the most part, this is something I posted last year on this day, and I feel it should reappear. God forbid we ever forget what happened during that day in 1944, and all the days surrounding. – Jeff

Sixty-five years ago today, approximately 130,000 unfathomably brave soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, determined to fight through a dug-in and determined enemy and liberate Europe from the clutches of Nazi Germany.

When the dust settled, when Hitler was dead and victory in Europe declared, more than 750,000 American and British soldiers had made the ultimate sacrifice.

Without the bravery of these men, and of all who fought against–and supported the fight against–Hitler and the Axis powers, the world today would be a much different place. Say a prayer, today, for those who died then, for those who have died since, and for those who every day grow older in the country and countries they fought to preserve.

And, I may add this year, say a prayer for our United States of America. May God continue to bless this great nation.

    On Normandy’s green fields
    Where the hedgerows still run
And the sands on the beaches
    Lie quiet as air;
On the bluffs stand the cross
    And the star white and pure;
    The flag of our fathers
    Flies high in the wind.

    The battlefields calling,
    Are seen by a few
    Who have traveled so far,
    To set down their memories
    For buddies they’ve loved.

    And each waning day,
    As the sea mourns alone,
    The soft sound of Taps
    Flows over the fields,
    Saying yes, we remember,
    The brave deeds you’ve done,
We remember your faces eternally young.

  2. God bless them all, I will never forget them….especially since I’m not sure I could muster the fortitude to cross those damned beaches.

I did a tribute to D-Day at the request of a friend of mine. He asked me to colorize the picture above, to see if I could bring out the impact a little more….

God bless them all, and never forget them.

Apparently Gordon Brown has renamed Omaha Beach
Obama Beach. Maybe he knows something we don’t.

Check out Obama’s expression of disdain in that video.

It’s a, “what’s wrong with this picture”, moment.

      And what’s wrong?

Well, Obama has a seething, venom spitting hatred towards America and all the good that America has done for all of humanity for the last 228 years.

 Nobody can ever take away their sacrifice or their glory. Here is a fitting piece from Ultima Ratio:

“I am the Evil you have been waiting for–” B. Hussein Obama

Most folks, myself included, spend our time at work, trying to pay the bills, raising families, all that good stuff. The kind of good stuff that made this Republic. We vote, we are patriotic, we trust our leaders to do the Next Right Thing.

It isn’t too hard to believe monied interests– call it the Cartel– would have as a goal the control of a society. That is a story as old as man himself. Look within the past 150 years at the Mellons, Carnegies, Rockefellers, et al. Great money breeds Great Power. Advanced technology enables the use of that power.

The answer to the question is the same as the question itself. It is always about Control. Tyranny. Despotism. “Everybody Wants to Rule the World-” (Tears for Fears).

That was what our Founders tried to remedy. If we had stuck to the plan, we would be OK. The Founders tried to take into account human nature but they could not forsee the future. Money corrupts. Power corrupts. In the end, it all comes down to believing in and obeying the Creator. Disobedience opens the door for Lucifer, who comes in many disguises. What did he tempt Christ with? “All the Kingdoms of the World- if You will worship Me.” Christ could resist. Man cannot always succeed, and here is the irony: the most powerful men of the world were all brought down by their failure to resist the lure of lucre, to resist Lucifer and Temptation.

Our world is an illusion. It exists on a physical plane- mountains, oceans, prairies; but its true purpose is the stage of Good vs. Evil. Forces beyond our limited abilities to understand are battling for the souls of men and maybe something more.

What is most important in life? To the Barbarian, Conan, it was to “…drive my enemies before me, plunder their riches, to hear the wail and lamentation of his women.”
I say, as an American, a descendant of Barbarians, it is to Obey God to the best of your ability and Do the Next Right Thing. Be a good citizen. Serve your fellow countrymen. Keep the Constitution and its Bill of Rights. These were inspired by a Higher Power for our use. With those ideals we became, as imperfect as we are, the most powerful nation the world has ever known.

Keep hold of those ideals as a personal responsibility. With those same ideals, we can live free– or die free. If you must die protecting your Country, State, or loved ones, then fight like a Barbarian and Die like an American.

What Gordon Brown did was awful. Omaha Beach is sacred soil for America. Obama’s name desecrates it.

The WSJ ran this article a couple of days ago which is a fitting tribute to those who fought & died on D-Day:

    May we never forget.

Nick, thank you for the link.

The sub-headline of the article was profound, as was the article itself.

“On D-Day, the U.S. saved Europe from itself.”

      Kudos.

      Thanks again.

INCREDIBLE.”we should not mourn that these men died ,but celebrate the fact that they lived.” Patton.Thank you brave men.May GOD always comfort you.

And here we’ve lost less than 5,000 men and women who serve voluntarily and the majority of this country wants to call it quits.
