Employees don’t need to sabotage the shuttles. Obama has already done everything he can to kill NASA and all their projects. He has cut their budget to the point where they are scrambling to try and figure out what they can keep on the mission schedule. The moon project is probably going to get chopped.
The Ass In Office is doing everything he can to kill every possible technical project in this country. Every advanced R&D project has pretty much been cut, he is killing all of our defense research projects and also making sure we are as far behind the power curve as possible on anything that might keep us ahead of our enemies (and the list on that grows daily).
Lots of money for short term blue collar construction jobs, but anything that would actually benefit the country in the long run is being sabotaged by the Tyrant in the White House and his evil Minions in Congress. After all, why would they spend anything on projects that might advance our technology and understanding when we could instead give it to the inner city gangs to make sure that their basketball court has been resurfaced and repainted with the welfare vend-o’-matic firmly in place.

Rumor has it that many NASA employees covertly work for other private entities who are working on R&D projects that NASA cannot or will not invest in.
NASA (Pronounced Nay Say) does not invest in anything. They are one of the worst run government agencies, but they are all we have and 1000% better than any similar agency any where in the world.
The government used to have level 1, 2, and 3 SBIR grants to allow for lots of high tech research. Those grants have been cut to the bone and now only the politically correct projects get funding - even if it is something stupid like trying to figure out how to retrofit a jet engine to a squirrel’s ass.
Ideally NASA would be abolished and all of their projects and budget should be a part of the private sector. Private companies can do everything NASA does… better. This is a long long long argument with lots of nuances.
Suffice it to say that the new Prez O’Poop is doing everything he can to ensure that the next shot to the moon is indeed a hoax in a hollywood sound stage since there is no way in hell we will ever see the budget to NASA or anyone else to ever do anything other than that. Technology in this country is being shot in the head thanks to this asshole.
