Correct. Hitler’s German National Socialism was a form of socialism. According to Richard Overy’s profound book “The Dictators” comparing Hitler’s German National Socialism and Stalin’s Bolshevik Socialism, the two were fundamentally alike, just a different conception of utopia.

Fascism, Socialism, Communism — all are born out of the ideology known as “collectivism” and take root in its corollary “statism.”

This is best described by Ayn Rand: “Collectivism holds that the individual has no rights, that his life and work belong to the group…and that the group may sacrifice him at its own whim to its own interests. The only way to implement a doctrine of that kind is by means of brute force — and statism has always been the political corollary of collectivism.”

Rand specifically points out that “Fascism and communism are not two opposites, but two rival gangs fighting over the same territory…both are variants of statism, based on the collectivist principle that man is the rightless slave of the state.”

Barry plans to come out with compensation limits/rules for *the whole* of the financial industry later this summer.
Regardless, a free market supporter would incentivize key employees to get off the gov’t tit (and stay off it) rather than bureaucratize the whole industry.

The president , even if the government is stupid enough to give tax dollars to failing companies should not decide pay. They union workers and union retires are even getting cuts. Not what they thought was going to happen. We are on the road to hell and we better do something in 2010 and 2012

We should see His Communist tendencies in General Motors. The labor unions will be saved using taxpayer dollars. Obama has never operated a profit-making enterprise or even had a job working for one. He will therefore wreck GM so badly that free people will not choose to purchase from GM. The only resolution then will be to compel consumers to purchase GM cars either by legislating their older models out of existence or by continually pumping taxpayer dollars into the UAW.

First of all, since when does America have ‘czars’? I see this label for what it is. And second, I’ve lost count of how many ‘czars’ have been appointed (20+?) to Chairman Obama. This is a huge power grab for the Executive Branch .. and is anyone vetting these people or do they fly under the radar? Just another assault on our great country.

I know I’m going to get flak for this but I would have a real problem with these companies who have taken MY tax dollars, if they were to go on giving out mega-salaries and bonuses to the people who put them in their precarious situation in the first place. The thing that really disturbs me is the situation of the govt. FORCING companies to take TARP money or stimulus funds and THEN telling them what their compensation will be. The next step is to force viable companies to comply. We have a Constitutional crisis on our hands with this Obumble feller.
