Now you know why it’s called the Criminal Justice System – if you are a victim or innocent with no alibi you get the shaft!
Ancillary to that is the convoluted procedures that the Congress and Courts have put in place to get your day in court. Likely Mr. Deskovic was presenting his appeal with limited benefit of counsel, and there have been many cases like this where the attorney failed to meet an arbitrary deadline or some other imposed requirement and so the bureaucratic system keeps them in limbo.
Pretty sad when you can no longer trust your government because it ignores the foundations on which it was created!
