The NYSlimes poll asks 'What should the government be *spending* money on...' and 'reducing the deficit' is a choice of a majority. Reducing the deficit requires the gov't STOP spending. Polls by the NYSlimes are structured to determine whether the opposition is having any success educating the 'useful idiots' on how economies and governments actually 'work'. We're seeing limited success on health care. That's about it IMO. The polls are NOT the same because the questions are not the same.
