WASHINGTON - Vice President Joe Biden said the Obama administration “misread how bad the economy was” but stands by its stimulus package and believes the plan will create more jobs as the pace of its spending picks up.

Biden, in an interview airing Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” said the nation’s 9.5 percent unemployment rate is “much too high.”

“The figures we worked off of in January were the consensus figures and most of the blue chip indexes out there,” Biden said.

“We misread how bad the economy was, but we are now only about 120 days into the recovery package,” Biden added. More jobs will be created in coming months, he said.

Biden noted that the $787 billion economic stimulus package was set up to spend the money over 18 months. Major programs will take effect in September, including $7.5 billion for broadband Internet service, plus new money for high-speed rail and the nation’s electrical grid, he said.

Biden said it’s premature to say whether the country will need a second stimulus package.

It means those who lost their jobs wont get them back.
These are brand new, out of the blue new jobs.
The question is why these type of jobs?
Oh, I guess I can answer that.
ob’s bosses would make money from these type of jobs and not the others.

  2. YERMOM

what a crock of shit. these cocksucking dickwads will claim any success as their own, and any set back will simply be a call for patience.

it shows a distinct lack of intelligence on the part of anyone that falls for this.

“misread how bad the economy was”? Er, not exactly. They were mis-represented to by Gold!man,BytheSacks! For whom the economy was/is doing just fine. We suffer. They laugh, profit, and pay for more lobbyist-written legislation. Remember, these wall st operators profit all the way on the downside. Our pain their gain. All legal like.

or how’bout this. our taxes fund the military which protects the stability of global trade and protects dollar hedgemony, but Bill Gates at microsoft says too few Americans are smart enough technically to meet his needs so he must bring in more H1B visa holders, otherwise he’ll close up shop and move overseas. How’bout that? And they ’stand by’ the stimulus? Er, they stand by the bankster bailout stimulus.

It’s interesting how after they got rid of Bush, the only MBA to ever hold the Presidency, the bottom falls out. How does that happen?

Truth from the lips of the plastic Jesus’s court jester. Spendulous has done what the conservatives in this country warned it would do. Make things worse.

Didn’t Obama say that we would have 9% unemployment if the bill was not passed? And after it passed we no have 10% unemployment and no idea how deep the rathole goes…

    • David B in Texas

Actually, he said it would go no higher than 8% if they passed the Porkulus Bill. Dumb & Dumber… what else needs to be said?

OMG. The President and the Vice President can now both resign. They are both idiots.

They both act as though they had nothing to do with the Congress (or the party) that created the main problem in the economy. And they stick by their wrongheaded solution to spend us into bankruptcy with no real effect on creating jobs that contribute to prosperity, not government jobs that are the non-productive overhead of the people’s business.

I hope all those people that didn’t vote for McCain are fucking happy right now.

The inmates are running the asylum. Wait till the koolaid zombies get their electric bills or try to sell their house with the new crap tax. Or better yet, wait till the price of gas goes up to 10/gal. We’ll see how many “tingles up their legs” will remain at the MSM and how many will still salivate over the islamo-fascist regime they elected.

Unfortunately WE knew this was going to happen, no one listened and we have to suffer along with the morons.

When I am President, the days of dysfunction and cronyism in Washington will be over.–Barack Hussein Obama.

I would like somebody (for Vice President) who knows about a bunch of stuff that I’m not as expert on.–Barack Hussein Obama

    “…misread… “??
    Bullshit.
Volcker is their primary economic ‘guru’ and they’re using him as the stooge for looting the Treasury for decades to come.
