He was awesome in Patton along with many other roles. The only time he looked rigid to me on screen was next to Michael Douglas on TV in "The Streets of San Francisco", he probably knew Michael was a leftist but out of respect for Kirk didn't kick his ass around the set. A little extra will be said in my prayers tonight. "On the Waterfront" is a masterpiece (even though it was produced by squealer for the McCarthy crowd).
