Preparing For Civil Unrest

civilunrest

Backwoods Home Magazine:

The most remarkable thing about civil unrest is that there hasn’t been more of it.

Politicians are making a hash of this country—and much of the rest of the civilized world. We know it. They know it. They know we know it. But we don’t feel we can do anything much to stop them.

That right there is the pre-condition for civil unrest—when people are frustrated and politicians are nervous.

Worse, that was how things stood before last fall’s crash. Before pols on both left and right launched the biggest mass transfer of wealth in history—transferring our wealth (what we had left of it!) to their friends on Wall Street and in the banking industry. In other words, that’s how things were before things got bad!

Now everybody’s talking about the ongoing catastrophe (even if we are in a momentarily sunny mood). But almost nobody is talking about the logical—maybe even inevitable—consequences of cynical or desperate politicians abusing an already fed-up populace: civil unrest.

I mean people taking to the streets. Or mass resistance. Or crackdowns because the government fears we might do something to upset its apple cart. It’s going to happen. Somewhere. At some time. It’s going to.

One of the few VIPs to mention the matter openly was Zbigniew Brzezinski, former National Security Advisor and the ultimate insider’s insider. He commented on the millions of unemployed or soon-to-be-unemployed and the “…public awareness of this extraordinary wealth that was transferred to a few individuals at levels without historical precedent in America.” He told “Morning Joe” Scarborough, “Hell, there could be even riots.” I’d say that’s an understatement.

Although few in power are talking about it, rumors abound that governments at many levels are planning for civil unrest. One rumor is about a document supposedly being circulated right now among top federal officials. It’s called the “C&R Document”—with C&R standing for “conflict & revolution.” The much-storied paper is said to be a plan for controlling the American people when we get out of hand. True? Who knows. But the very rumor tells us a lot about these times.

Other things are not mere rumor. When the federal government established a North American Army command in 2002, its purpose wasn’t to repel foreign invaders. It was domestic operations—something long and rightly forbidden by the Posse Comitatus Act. In February of 2009, when military commanders in Canada and the U.S. signed a pact allowing their armies to operate inside each other’s country they didn’t even bother to get authorization from Congress—an illegal and unprecedented move. And once again, the purpose was handling “domestic civil emergencies.”

For several years, the Centers for Disease Control tried to get states to adopt something called the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act (MEHPA). This act would allow state governments to become police-state dictatorships in event of any ill-defined health emergency—vaccinating people by force, destroying or seizing property without compensation, and rationing medical supplies, food, and fuel. To their credit, most state governments rejected the act. A few adopted portions of it before a fervent opposition campaign caused the CDC to back off. However, the concept of a health dictatorship hasn’t gone away. Not hardly. Within days of the news that a new strain of swine flu had arisen in Mexico in April 2009, states were again considering legislation to give themselves martial-law powers in event of an epidemic.

And what of the dozens and dozens of federal agencies that now have SWAT teams? Seriously, what justifies the Bureau of Land Management or the Department of Housing and Urban Development having paramilitary units?

Now maybe you like the idea of an Army that watches over its own citizens. Maybe it makes sense to have a government seize total dictatorial power in event of a health emergency. Maybe you believe SWAT teams will never be used except against bad guys. But do you really trust these people?

After all, these are the same folks, and this is the same mentality, that not only spent $325,000 to produce a souvenir photo of a presidential 747 zooming low over the Statue of Liberty, but ordered the New York Police Department, the FBI, the Secret Service, and the New York mayor’s office not to tell the public. Never mind that they realized full well that passenger jets and military planes plunging low over Manhattan would evoke panic.

Still, peace reigns. Mostly. At least here in North America. But not everywhere. Not long ago, France was brought to its knees by night after night of rioting. In that country it’s become almost common for workers to hold their bosses hostage in hopes of winning economic concessions. Greece, too, saw its normal life and business shut down by days of rioting. So did Iceland—a country that’s normally the picture of civility.

Can the U.S. be forever immune?

It might not take much—and it could be something out of the blue, something impossible to anticipate—to set us against each other and against the “Trust us; we’ll fix it” political crowd.

In a way, this national silence on a matter so many people are afraid of is similar to the silence about general preparedness issues before 9-11 or Hurricane Katrina. Only Mormons and us wingnuts spoke of preparedness way back when. Since then, of course, advice on preparedness is mainstream and common.

In another sense, this silence is different. Because when unrest finally erupts, it’s not going to be us merely taking care of ourselves. It’s going to be “us against them.” It might be workers against bosses. Or the poor against bankers. Or blacks against Hispanics. Or little folk against Big Men in public office. Or farmers against the USDA. Or xenophobes against xenophiles. But however it happens, the implications aren’t as Boy-Scoutish as just taking care of ourselves in an emergency.

    Posse Comitatus is a myth.
The US Attorney General has blood on his hands.
And no I do not ‘trust these people’. That’s the reason the Constitution is a ‘charter of negative GOVERNMENT liberties’. Government is not worthy of trust.

Just currious… Has anyone read the story of Gordon Kahl and why he did what he did back in 1983?
He use to hold small “Tea Party” meetings too. There is a fabulous OpEd in the Bismark Tribune about it (I wish I could find it again). In it they interview his son and other family members & close friends. It is uncanny how much his story Mirrors things taking place now.

    • Infidel

Post it if you find it. Gordon Kahl was a violent lunatic and cold-blooded killer, nothing like the good folks who go to tea-parties!!!!!

Don’t tell me about that fucking Gordon Kahl!!! That is not what the Tea-party’s are. Kahl degenerated from being right about the tax system to advocating the violent overthrow of the gov’t! He murdered 2 U.S. Marshals in cold blood. He is no HERO!

  • USMCTANKS

Bring it…..everybody with an Oshithead sticker gets it first. Hey it’ll help cut down on global warming!!

This was told “people” in strict confidentiality, by Dept. of Homeland security.
I cant name names or anything.
“people” were told if anyone else was told, death would be a fit punishment.
“people” have had mandatory meetings put on by DHS more than once, when a crisis was foretold.
How did they know it was coming?
    Luckily they fizzled.
If you live in a big city, that is the worst place to be.
IF you hear of a major crisis, RUN in the opposite direction.
This is what they were looking for:
    Riots: Nothing
Terrorist Attacks in more than one city: Still looking for them.
Epidemics: Scratching their heads on that one.
If a crisis wont come of its own making, one has to be made.

    • Mr. Standfast

” Fizzled” has a very specific meaning in the “physics” community. Are you saying somebodys physics experiment didn’t work in an American city?

    • copperpeony

Try the biological experiment that fizzled here as in the bio-manufactured “swine flu”. Go look up Baxter Pharma.

I like to see this discussed openly. I have had a personal run in with the National forest SWAT team once. That is a story for another time. “We know it. They know it. They know we know it.” Ain’t that the truth.

    • solomonpal

When I think of a US Forest service swat team…Is that anything like the movie Mall Cop? If they show up in my neck of the woods it’ll be more like “Buford…look what we havin fer dinner”

    • Bob P

You are exactly right. There were about 60 of them standing around us with firearms. There were about 30 of us including my mom and wife and kids. They had us move about 150 yards to be in another state, in the middle of the woods. They spent 5,000 dollars to do that.

    • Bob P

We had wandered into “State recreation area” instead of National Forrest. It was all woods.

    • Lottie

WE have had experience with the Forestry service and the dept of blm in Oregon. My parents had a minning claim in oregon on some blm land they stayed to long on it and were moved out by force. If you don’t leave they will burn you out. Also we had a mining claim on forestery land on an old claim with a cabin. We couldn’t use the cabin to stay in only for storage. If we did any more than that it would be burned down. My brother stayed in an abandoned mining cabin and they burned him out and many others in the area. So this kind of stuff has been going on a long time.

    • solomonpal

The Forest Service has something they call “national policy” Anyone here get a chance to vote on it? Nothing more than mandates by the hippie generation now in control of that bureaucracy…and now with the help of their little greenie weenie friends fresh out of college. They align themselves against the common man with dictates and fiats. They have usurped power on federal lands…gun-toting facists with sirens and flashing lights.Smokey the bear a faded memory. Now they are closing roads into public areas…these rotten bastards to control access and movement. I am fed up with these commie dickheads.

As the anticipated July release date for Baxter’s A/H1N1 flu pandemic vaccine approaches, an Austrian investigative journalist is warning the world that the greatest crime in the history of humanity is underway. Jane Burgermeister has recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several of the highest ranking government and corporate officials concerning bioterrorism and attempts to commit mass murder. She has also prepared an injunction against forced vaccination which is being filed in America. These actions follow her charges filed in April against Baxter AG and Avir Green Hills Biotechnology of Austria for producing contaminated bird flu vaccine, alleging this was a deliberate act to cause and profit from a pandemic.

Here is a email I recieved 2 days ago

As the President’s advisor on Homeland Security, I am passing along the following message from Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Homeland Security, and Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education, who are leading the efforts to prepare our Nation for the coming flu season.

    Fellow Americans,

This spring we were confronted with an outbreak of a troubling flu virus called 2009-H1N1. As the fall flu season approaches, it is critical that we reinvigorate our preparedness efforts across the country in order to mitigate the effects of this virus on our communities.

Today, we are holding an H1N1 Influenza Preparedness Summit in conjunction with the White House to discuss our Nation’s preparedness. We are working together to monitor the spread of 2009-H1N1 and to prepare to initiate a voluntary fall vaccination program against the 2009-H1N1 flu virus, assuming we have a safe vaccine and do not see changes in the virus that would render the vaccine ineffective.

But the most critical steps to mitigating the effects of 2009-H1N1 won’t take place in Washington — they will take place in your homes, schools and community businesses.

Taking precautions for this fall’s flu season is a responsibility we all share. Visit Flu.gov to make sure you are ready and learn how you can help promote public awareness.

We are making every effort to have a safe and effective vaccine available for distribution as soon as possible, but our current estimate is that it won’t be ready before mid-October. This makes individual prevention even more critical. Wash your hands regularly. Take the necessary precautions to stay healthy and if you do get sick, stay home from work or school.

We are doing everything possible to prepare for the fall flu season and encourage all Americans to do the same — this is a shared responsibility and now is the time to prepare. Please visit Flu.gov to learn what steps you can take to prepare and do your part to mitigate the effects of H1N1.

    Take Care,
Kathleen, Janet and Arne (I don`t want to know you on a personal level

Let it happen,I’m armed to the teeth and will use any force necesarry to keep my family safe.Any Homeland Security person who disregaurds the Constitution of the United States of America will most assuradly take me out but I will not go alone to death. It will be up to each individual officer to make right in their own mind if what they are doing is right by our founding document that thousands have died to preserve. My question to them is….Will you uphold the Constitution or will you die for a political party?

    • Lottie

Did you know that the end of this month there is going to be some type of an activity taking place in our country by foreign armys? So we wont be dealing with people from the U S so they won’t have to honor our constitution. I will try to find that info and post .

    • unkaglen

Not necessarily. It has been known for years if the government wanted to dis-arm America U.N. troops would be used. They would not attempt this unless almost ALL American troops were stationed over seas(kind’a like now).
And,it has already happened in America at the local level with local law enforcement. Can anyone say New Orleans P.D. and Hurricane Katrina. If you have not seen this N.R.A. video I suggest you give it a look.

    • CPLViper

That is the whole purpose of having Canadians be allowed to operate within the border of the US. I respect Canadian soldiers but can they be reasoned with as why the civil unrest is occurring?

I have said it before … people keep talking about a revolution … that is not the way. A revolution means to disolve the government and replace it with something which would be unknown and may not be what was wanted. What people want is a restoration of our government, for our government to play by the rules that we, the people, have defined. A government that operates within the powers that we have deemed it to have with our founding documents. There has been a substantial amount of power stolen from us. Laws written in such ways in order to confuse the populous into believeing that the laws exist for our protection or some sort of benefit for everyone.

No one wants a NEW government, we just the one we used to have.

    • Paslode

x2 on what CPL Viper says.

So a patrol of .GOV cadre is roaming your neighborhood and some well intentioned Americans pop off a few shots. You just been designated a hostile sector and you now will have an increased presence that will isolate the pockets of resistance and death will come knocking at your door…..just like in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Armed Revolution the absolute last resort. Despite having pretty well armed population, we would have a difficult time fending off all the resources at the finger tip of the GOV….eye in the sky, Predator drones and a well organized cadre who is extremely well armed and ready to do the .GOV’s bidding.

If Martial Law comes your way, my opinion is your best option is to stay low, go slow and leave the area until other opportunities present themselves….read about escape and evasion training.

    • unkaglen

 Paslode Just like the video proves,You will be a law abiding citizen minding your own business when along comes local and/or federal jack booted thugs shoving automatic weapons in your face and demanding you surrender your weapons. It will come swiftly and with overwhelming force. There will be little,if any time for reaction.
As I see it you will have two choices, you can die a free man or live in slavery.Personaly,I don’t much care for calling anyone master.
P.S. The people shoving automatic weapons in peoples faces and brusing little old ladies arms were mostly WHITE AMERICAN MALES.That doesn’t instill a lot of faith that law enforcement will pay much attention to that pesky Constitution.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-taU9d26wT4

    • Paslode

      unkaglen

Minding my own business….maybe in the sense of a perception by held by others.

What I was getting at is you can’t go off half cocked. Hunkering down and barricading yourself in is at best going to draw unwanted media attention of the adverse kind.

Living in the wilderness or high tailing it to rural relatives, however you choose to proceed in this nightmare scenario, you must have a realistic and manageable plan and you must think it through carefully.

If gets bad enough to seriously consider doing something, it would be my opinion your first thought should be how can I get away from the area to a safe zone.

In light of your concern over weapons confiscation, I might suggest you don’t keep them all in close proximity of each other. Because if your scenario were to happen there would likely be Road Blocks and Check Points along your route.

Plan and prepare now, don’t keep all your goodies in one location and live to fight another day of your choosing should the need arise.

  • Mike Mose

DC has crossed into the Hitler/Stalin/Marx/Mao insanity.

Does anyone have a contact in Cen Com

    • Bob

No, but I know local cops who will not go along with this. It will be tough for a federal central government to do mass arrest without the help of local police. Probably one reason Chairman Obama wants the civilian police force.
But they will just be gang bangers and slum kids who will not last long.

  • PatriotofPast(Thomas)

Do we have any liturature on what supplys we need to store up on for our families?
The thing that I worry about is the HATE AMERICA Musilim Factions out there & The Mexicans that want the Southwest back. I’m affraid if Civil unrest starts, The Chinese & Russians WILL move on us, thinking the Military/Police are busy trying to keep power for the Suits in DC.
So, If I can find out what to store up on and HOW MUCH, that will put my nerves to rest a little. I know I need more ammo for sure, only have a couple boxes for each.

 Civil unrest will begin to break out in dense urban areas already economically bleak before the ’08 election; they could also start in urban areas with large ethnic populations holding a collective grudge against society ( LA/Rodney King). It will not spark off before another bad downturn in the economy when more working class/middle class people are out of money, out of work, and very frustrated. It can be contained, but with the cost of civil liberties, curfews, etc. The Federal response may be to contain the affected areas or declare a national emergency under the NSPDs signed by the Bush and Obama administrations. Basic services in the affected areas will shut down. Food, water, gas and shelter will be scarce. Because we presently have a chief executive who does not think “American” and is of questionable origin, it will only make things worse. The Feds may overreact. Remember, too, the technology exists now to cut off communications: cell towers can easily be shut down. ISPs can be shut down. The only source you will get for information is the government-controlled media. Therefore, you will not know what’s happening truthfully in other parts of the country. Iran is a great recent example. We now know by the actions of the state-run media covering for Oboy you will not get any heroic, truthful reporting. Remember, all the defict-spending the moronic Congress has passed with a rubber stamp will take a while to filter down. Part of it is happening now: people are asking where are the stimulus jobs? The regime is even now talking about a SECOND stimulus package. Folks, the Federal credit card has melted already. You can’t fool mother nature and you can’t fool international finance. The house of cards will soon collapse. Ally yourselves with like-minded friends and neighbors. It’s going to get ugly, very ugly. Good luck.

People posting here need to remember the crap about us versus anyone can lead to a whole lot of wrong. 99.999% of bankers are conservative, and against TARP or any more government intervention in any business.

We need to focus on the Patriots and conservatives of the country taking control back from the liberals, socialists, marxists and other non-american traitorous POS’s that are currently leading the country to even more screwed up crap.

The wikipedia definition of soft tyranny:

Soft tyranny is an idea first coined by Alexis de Tocqueville in his 1835 work entitled Democracy in America.[1] In effect, soft tyranny occurs whenever the social conditions of a particular community hinder any prospect of hope among its members.[2] For Tocqueville, hope is the driving force behind all democratic institutions.[3] As such, whenever this all-encompassing hope is taken away from the people, liberal democracy fails. Examples of this failure can be seen in the Weimar Republic of Germany during the 1930s or in the French Third Republic around 1940. Hope for a better future effectively died in both of the aforementioned situations. As a result, fascist regimes were established to fill the void left by the departure of hope.

    [edit] Inciting Rebellions

Soft tyranny is often cited by historians as being the driving force behind many insurrections. The most obvious area in which soft tyranny affects people occurs with their fiscal situations. Price control is typically considered to be a common feature associated with communist societies; however, it relates directly to not only rebellion, but also soft tyranny. For example, when seigneurial rights, such as land taxes and byway tolls, began to seriously irritate the French peasantry in the mid-eighteenth century, violence in the form of rioting emerged as a consequence.[4] In effect, the price of bread, which was a staple in the peasant diet, increased to the point where common peasants could not afford to purchase it on a daily basis.[5] And whenever people cannot feed themselves, havoc tends to ensue. This instance in mid-eighteenth century France exemplifies a form of soft tyranny which can quietly disrupt and eventually unravel an entire socio-economic order.
