We all agree that we will defend America and the Constitution, but what happens when the Constitution is changed to reflect what we fear? What constitution will you defend? How can we protect the original Constitution we have sworn to protect?

As a former LEO/former military, allow me to remind you that "foreign troops" doesn't have to mean soldiers wearing blue berets. A good number of the gun confiscations in New Orleans post-Katrina were carried out by California Highway Patrolmen. The citizens of New Orleans were"foreign" to them, making it easier for them to justify their illegal seizure of personal firearms.

Having worked for CHP for over ten years (albeit in Communications), I can tell you there are good TOs (traffic officers) and bad ones. But most of them _will_ (and have, of course) arrest for laws that are blatantly unConstitutional. Remember that many of the younger, newer officers are being taught to "enforce the law", not "keep the peace". They believe a law on the books must be enforced, no matter if harm is being done or not. The older TOs (and other older state and local cops) who might resist disarming "civilians" are retiring, and the newer LEOs have no problem with arresting for almost any violation of "the law".

So, with a present day culture of "law enforcement", with out-of-state cops being deployed in your community, and the fact that many cops won't be willing to deprive their families of that paycheck (as has been stated already), do NOT expect the majority of LEOs to support your right to bear arms when the socialists demand they be confiscated. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you . . .

"If the other persons weapon is pointed
in the same direction as your's, stand with them.

If it is pointed at you, ensure that,
they will never stand again..."

These people talk a good story, but... When the time comes, how many of them will THINK "H'mm. Follow orders or lose the pension?" Three seconds later, they will SAY "Raus! Raus!! Into the trucks!"

Well, I had a 1911A1 stolen out of my vehicle before Thanksgiving. I called the police and filed a report. The officer who took the report botched it so badly, if I had not followed up and seen it and had corrections made, the pistol would never had made it to NICs and it would not have come up as stolen when the thief was caught.

The cop who caught the thief called me, personally, and told me he had recovered my pistol, and after the case was adjudicated, he wanted to make sure I got it back. He gave me his personal cell number and I kept in touch with him once a month until the time came and I was able to get my pistol back. He made sure that Evidence knew I was coming to get it and that everything went smoothly.

The cop also told me he wanted to see honest citizens carry firearms - that it makes his job easier. He also mentioned that I should carry it and not lock it in my vehicle. I asked him if he would arrest me if I were in a "gun free" zone for following his suggestion. He had no comment on that.

If by open carry you mean handguns, I agree that it is silly to criminalize them. But, by all means carry your shotgun or rifle. They are better tools in a gun fight anyway.

Kent,

I understand and appreciate your response however, what lunatic would be okay with anyone harming anyone who doesn’t deserve it?

In your world “Right” “Left” “Sideways” and “Upside down” are as meaningless to you as they are to me.

Who wouldn’t stipulate to your hypothesis of authoritarian vs libertarian? Dictatorship vs. the doctrine of free will? This is a no brainer and I take issue with you even bringing this up. I take no side or defense of but my own with my fellow citizens a very, very close second.

Your response gives me no movement whatsoever so let’s go directly to the point in which we do meet. Your statement of “No government except self-government will ever work or ever has” is speaking to me. So now what?

It doesn’t matter what life dynamic comes up, whether in business, family, life in general or political philosophy, one cannot do it alone. It’s obvious and proven throughout history that it’s impossible Kent. I agree with 99% of your thesis but I still stand by the spirit of my previous post response to you.

Likewise my friend and fellow citizen, I not only would never hand you over to a death squad but would sacrifice my life in making sure that would never happen.

Peace
