    I heard some “conservative commentators” talk to “birthers” and asking these questions:
    1. Does this do the Republican party any good to pursue this?
    2. Say it were true, what then?
    3. Does removing him from office destroy the Constitution?
    4. Does it alienate more young voters away from the Republican party?
    5. Would it reverse race relations in the US?

    I thought this was telling as many on the “right” fear actually going forward with this so much that they would rather have Obama stay in office, let him do what he wants and then vote him out. All to save the Constitution and public from what they fear of total collapse of everything, the true end of the United States. Politically, they’re looking like Sen. Spector, more worried about not being seen as evil racists that removed the first black president because of a technicality. I’m sure these fears are shared by those on the left and otherwise too.

    I understand a president’s need to keep personal certain records locked, but a birth certificate and validation of eligibility by natural-born citizenship is as basic as it gets. There are no national security threats that can stem from the disclosure of such information. We ALL disclose this very info in a number of ways throughout our lives, we ALL expect it as citizens. It’s not an extraordinary request from US citizens of their government representatives. It’s a very simple request that needs a simple action. Constitutionally, they’re obligated to prove these basic requirements.

    Look, I know I am going to get a lot of shit for this but I unfortunately believe he is a US Citizen. However, that being said if he took his oath seriously to support & defend the Constitution, which I don’t believe he or any of his cronies do, he could silence his critics by releasing all of his sealed records. He has something really embarrassing that he does not want to ever see the light of day.

    My main concern in all of this is those military personnel that are being brought into the controversy by becoming plaintiffs in these lawsuits. If the left can discredit these people & by default the most revered government institute our military as untrustworthy and or mutinous then there will be trouble for real Americans

    Allowing a non-eligible person to occupy the office of Chief Executive is much more destructive to the Constitution than just overlooking it and hoping the situation will go away.
    If the constitution isn’t to be followed in this regard why should the term limits amendment be followed?Or the bill of rights?
    This administration has already shown itself to be dismissive of law, contract, personal property, free markets, capitalism and the Constitution.
    If the rules in the constitution aren’t to be followed in THIS regard why should the provisions regarding the authority of Congress be followed? Or the rulings of the USSC?
    If this pretender can illegally hold office why can’t another in the future?
    Either the Constitution means what it says or it doesn’t. This is the crux of the question and of paramount importance.
    Those in high office who facilitate the breaching of the constitution for whatever reason are breaking their oath of office(yet again).

      That’s exactly right! Either the Constitution matters, or it doesn’t. Allowing some to get away with picking and choosing what parts they’d like to do away with is a nearly 100% guarantee of tyranny. Give an inch, they’ll take a mile and before we know it, our Constitutional Republic will have vanished. As we know, our freedoms are not guaranteed forever, we must work at keeping them.

    I turned off the television once I saw Bill O’Reilly go off the way he did in this segment. Talk about bloviating “spin” — it was absurd.

    What is so difficult about requiring Obama to produce an original birth certificate? That is all Lou Dobbs said. You have to produce an original birth certificate to play Little League baseball.

    There is a simple way of dealing with this issue: hold Obama to the same disclosure and to the same process that John McCain did when the eligibility issue as raised as to him.

    What little Obama has produced, a Certificate of Live Birth, as inconclusive because someone not born in Hawaii can obtain such a certificate; Obama has not produced critical records; and what fight Obama is putting into not producing more as consistent with there being a real problem, which there may be. Among other things, Obama has not produced the original birth certificate and hospital records, his father was a British citizen, Obama attended school in Indonesia where it would appear not to have been open to an American citizen, there is a tape of Kenyan grandmother who says Obama is a child of the village, and he traveled to Pakistan at a time when U.S. citizens were not authorized to do so.

    When the eligibility issue was raised as to John McCain, McCain released all relevant documentation, including an original birth certificate and hospital records. McCain hired two prominent attorneys in Ted Olsen and David Boies to review the facts and the documentation and issue an opinion. Olsen and Boies rendered an opinion that McCain was and is eligible under the U.S. Constitution to serve as President. The U.S. Senate then passed a Senate Resolution that McCain is qualified under the U.S. Constitution to serve as President.

    McCain handled the eligibility issue the way he did out of reverence for the U.S. Constitution and love of the country to which he put his life on the line as a combat U.S. Naval aviator. Obama should have been held to the same process. McCain, a patriot war hero from a distinguished American military family, went through that process. So should a community organizer with a British father and relatives in Kenya and with a travel history that includes travel to a country that was not permitted to American citizens at the time.

    It is therefore simple: hold Obama to the same disclosure and process that John McCain did. That is what should be said on Bill O’Reilly Show.
