Congressman Ryan errs:
He says he is for competition: US healthcare per capita currently costs 3 times as much as the UK despite not offering universal coverage. The US is over twice as expensive as Germany and France. If competition were working in the US prices wouldn’t be the highest in the world.
As a Republican he says government can’t run anything competitively: then he says that a public plan would out compete the private sector in just a few short years.
So Mr Ryan says:
The public sector shouldn’t run things because they are wasteful.
The public sector shouldn’t run health insurance because they’re too competitive.
I’m a capitalist and for competition.
I’m against the public sector competing with the private sector in health.
So, Mr Ryan, how do you suggest the US bring down the highest health care costs in the world WITHOUT more competition?

When the government stacks the rules in their favor, underpays as they do now with Medicare/Medicaid (making the private sector pick up rest of the tab), and uses taxpayer money as their never-ending piggy bank, the private sector will be forced out of the market. That’s the intention behind ObamaScare.
The answer is less government intrusion, not more.

Abigail, you poor unknowing and mislead soul. If we were to only treat a fraction of those who are sick WE TOO could pay a fraction of what we currently pay out just as those you seek to emulate. Then you combine the fact that you cannot sue a doctor in the UK or any other socialist country like France and Germany. There are many well documented stories of amputations of good limbs and the like. Once we submit to being paupers as are those in socialist countries we must accept the care that is “given” just as they have. When was the last time you heard of anyone anywhere traveling to Germany, France or the UK for medical treatment, hmmmm? They don’t, they only go to great lengths to come here because we have the BEST medical treatment in the world BAR NONE!
I won’t even go into the doctor shortages and the incredibly long waits that they have grown accustomed to in those “more medically advanced” countries you hold to such high esteem.

Obamacare, leaves huge holes for drug companies and insurance companies. His plan is a MESS. It will NOT WORK and it’s cruel. He did not know what he was doing. His plan isn’t like France, or Canada at all. It is NOT universal healthcare though he is using language to make you think it IS.
I have lived in Canada and I will admit that a lot of rhetoric I see about the way their system works on the U.S. side is bullshit…BUT Obamacare is not going to work like that, not even close. It’s ten times worse.
You think Obama is trying to put through some version of Uni…I can tell you have not read the entire document, ALL one thousand pages and made yourself study it till you understand what he is doing. He will so screw up any idea you ever had about wanting uni that it will never happen…again, I’m trying to make you see from your own perspective here. Do not allow this man to continue to fool you. The inexperience really shows in this so called plan and people will suffer for it. If you are honest with yourself and if you READ that document there is no way on gods earth you can support this mans idea of a health care plan. Obama so called “care” is nothing but, grandiosity on Obama’s part and it will harm people. He wants to push this through without really understanding himself the harm he will do or caring JUST so he can say he was “the one” that got it through.
