“You Couldn’t Sell This Script In Hollywood”: Gibbs Lashes Out At Truth Seeking Patriots
The White House Thursday morning expressed exasperation with news that a poll of indicating that only 53% of Virginians in a recent poll were sure that President Obama was born in the U.S.
“You couldn’t sell this script in Hollywood,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters of the conspiracy theorists, called birthers.
“Tell me if you’ve heard one that’s this totally crazy,” Gibbs said. “A pregnant woman leaves her home to go overseas to have a child — who there’s not a passport for — so is in cahoots with someone…to smuggle that child, that previously doesn’t exist on a government roll somewhere back into the country and has the amazing foresight to place birth announcements in the Hawaii newspapers? All while this is transpiring in cahoots with those in the border, all so some kid named Barack Obama could run for President 46 and a half years later. You couldn’t sell that to the WB.”
Being born in the US is a Constitutional requirement for the presidency. But in a phone survey of Virginians, Public Policy Polling asked “Do you think Barack Obama was born in the United States?”
Fifty-three percent of those responding pressed “1,” indicating “Yes.” Twenty-four percent pressed “2,” indicating “No,” while another 24% pressed “3,” indicating they weren’t sure.
Phone surveys are not considered reliable by many respected pollsters.
“I’ve said this before: If I had DNA I’m entirely sure that a sizeable number of people would not believe it,” Gibbs said. “They’ve seen the birth certificate – it’s on the internet. It’s been there for a year and half.”
Gibbs pointed out that officials of Hawaii have said the president was born in that state and there were contemporaneous birth announcements in both the Honolulu Advertiser and the Star Bulletin in 1961.
Last month Gibbs called questions about the president’s birth certificate “made-up fictional nonsense” as a host of mainstream Republican figures and commentators began to feed birther hysteria.
The Democratic National Committee this week sought to discredit protestors opposed to President Obama’s health care reform push by painting them as a birther mob.

– I take a nobody, freshman Senator from the nation’s most corrupt political machine and I run him for president as a moderate promoting change and championing the middle class and the blue collar.
– The nobody manages to seal critical documents from almost every aspect of his life and is not skewered by the media. Furthermore, he has relationships with dubious characters that include communists, racists and terrorists. But that easily is ignored by a fawning media.
– Said nobody upends a highly connected female favorite with a popular two-term president for a husband in the Mother of All Affirmative Action primaries.
– The nobody becomes the most powerful leader on the planet. His election is celebrated by billions around the globe.
– Within seven months all the things that were swept under the rug come back into the light. We learn that he IS a communist, racist, narcissicist, machine politics thugs who has a fetish for tin-plated third-world leaders and fellow demagogues.
– Said nobody enjoys a rubber stamp Congress, a tanked judicial and media and has carte blanch to destroy the most powerful, generous, kind, free nation in the history of mankind in less than 12 months.

Put a (R) after the lead characters name and Hollywood would be tripping over each other to buy it.
Does he mean the fake b.c. they had to take down or the fake real one that’s been there for a year and a half on the internet? It’s a certificate of live birth NOT a birth certificate that’s online and the first one was faked and had to be removed from Obama’s campaign website. You have to ask yourself why the hell they would bother to put a fake one up there in the first place.
Stop gaslighting us Gibbs like we didn’t see what we saw. Also, not every person against the health care plan is a “birther” you are further seeking to discredit these people by painting them all as inclusive lunatics. God, I don’t even care about the b.c. as much as I care how you are in the White House trying to malign and demean the American people. Shaming the people you claim to represent was a trick Mao used. In fact they had shaming sessions where they dragged citizens suspected of ANY disagreement with Mao into the streets. Is that next?
This is a disgraceful word salad sending a very powerful and manipulative message from the White House to every American. It’s nauseating!
The media belongs to obama and they will lie to us to protect him till the bitter end.
So if there’s nothing to hide, then why not get a copy of the long form birth certificate, with the doctors name, and the hospital, with an official raised seal, which does exist as admitted by HI, and release it.
Easy peasy and end all of this! Obama’s actions speak lounder than words.
