Is that like leaving a scope sighting tool in the tip of the barrel and firing it?

“Is that like leaving a scope sighting tool in the tip of the barrel and firing it?”

That appeared to be a failure to tighten the nut that secures the barrel to the tubular magazine at the front of the magazine. Firing the shotgun can cause it to loosen.

What you are thinking of is a barrel obstruction which would have cause either a explosion of the barrel in the users hands or a barrel bulge.

I believe this youtube video has previously been posted here.

I am talking about the guy that left the sighting tool in the end of the barrel and forgot to remove it and went to test fire it.
That left him with a face injury

Your initial post was in the form of a question about this video. The short answer is no.

Maybe I misunderstood, and your comment was actually a statement, however have not see the video which to which you are referring. I apologize if I’ve misinterpreted your comment.

I’ve never heard of someone bore sighting a shotgun (maybe its done for the shotgun deer hunters, who shoot rifled slugs). Anything whether it be a squib load (bullet in the barrel) or a bore laser sight tool that obstructs the bullets path through the barrel is a ‘barrel obstruction’ and can be very dangerous if not recognized by the user, as the video I linked to shows. Firearm safety is very important for all owners and users. I was just trying to provide a complete answer to your question.
