Political Enemies Work To Deny ACTIVE Funds

Shortly after last week’s successful fundraiser, some entity with a clearly political motivation, lodged a complaint with PayPal that this website was running stories critical of Islam, and in an initial review, PayPal has decided this is “an anti-Islam website”, and they’ve frozen all the funds and suspended the account for 180 days pending a full review.

Well, they can shove their 180 days up their ass, I’m declaring a full war here at what is now a tip-of-the-spear point of contact in the Leftist/Muslim war on free speech, which is to say, any speech that runs counter to their interests.

      I have been on phone with pay pal and told them I am closing my account based on thier actions.
      I was told by thier Specialist that pay pal wouldn`t block a vendors account and that its not polictaly based.

I am praying that the insurance companies who received their letters from pigface Waxman will stand up and challenge these crooks in a court of law.       I have no doubt that this is all a coordinated offensive aimed at those of us who are fighting back. I was at my Congressman’s townhall meeting (Cantor) and got to express myself and recieved a five minute standing ovation. People are fed up and it’s across the board. The fight has already begun and now come the offensives and counter-offensives.

    I’ve had trouble with Paypal in the past. It was different subject matter but turned into a screaming match with a manager.

    There seems to be a common thread among these businesses that are rejecting people with conservative political views. I say turn it into a positive and let capitalism lead the way into new businesses offering the same or similar services.

    Make sure the monies frozen are not being exploited
    by PayPal, allowing them to earn interest off of the
    frozen assets.
    Strange how one complaint could have such drastice
    results. Seems like they should have first attempted
    to clear up what the complaint was about. Also if they’ll do this to one account, then the left can have every account of the opposition frozen in much the same way.

    Okay PayPal finds ACTIVE to be objectionable but you could probably buy access to a porn site with your PayPal account or hey maybe even pay for an abortion with your PayPal account

    A few years ago I got scammed by PayPal – they did refund part of my payment for something I didn’t get, minus their fees, the taxes, and the shipping. Wasn’t the money – it was the principle, as when you take back or don’t get delivery from a brick-and-mortar store, you get the full price back. (Well – some places have now started a “re-stocking fee”, but you know that ahead of time). Until Active and a few other blogs, I had stayed totally away from PP, as there are some other places to handle the funds transfer, or I can send a cheque or MO.

    Michael Yon has http://www.Authorize.net/ to handle CC and Electronic cheques. It operates with your Merchant bank account – so that may be an avenue for Pat to use. I have used it several times with no problems, and know if there is a problem I can have my bank help in its resolution. Unless things have changed in the past ten years, good luck with that and PayPal.

    Back to non-use of PayPal for this puppy!

      Yea, thats what I recommend to my e-commerce clients, you have to have a merchant account with your bank, $15-$25/mo, and then pay a monthly fee to Authorize.net $20/mo. Another benefit is that the per transaction fees are usually cheaper than Paypal’s. Since your donations go right to the bank account no one can freeze your money before it gets there.

      You get full access to a virtual console for credit card transactions and can integrate it with your site and process CC that way rather than sending donators off to a third party like PP. Its basically like having a virtual credit card machine. :-)

    I just called them since I donated and all they would tell me was you would have to contact them. I told her you already had contacted them , otherwise how would I know the account was frozen. I told her I wanted my money released to you and all I got was a run around. I didn’t even use a paypal account. I just used my debit card. What a bunch of Bull shit. :twisted:

      Did you ask for someone higher up? Call again and if they say they can’t do anything then ask for someone that can and tell them that you will not hang up until you talk to someone with authority that can release your funds. Tell them that they have no right to hold your money…and they don’t!

    PayPal Provides you with a PayPal Account and not a Real Merchant Account. Your money is deposited into a PayPal account, which PayPal Controls, rather than your own bank account. If PayPal even wonders for a second about the validity of a transaction, they can Freeze Your PayPal Account Immediately and suck all your money out. They can even pull your money directly out of your personal bank account, many times without even a phone call or e-mail. If you think PayPal treated you unfairly and want to dispute their decision, You Will Be At Their Mercy as PayPal plays the role of the Investigator, Judge, Jury and Executioner in all issues regarding your account. (You agreed to all of this, when you signed up.)

    Sound fair? We don’t think so.

    Yahoo Search – 328,000

    Google – 71,000

    Just go to the local bank and get a merchant account and then put a gateway link on your website to purchase “gift cards” in 5-10-25-50-100 amounts. The funds (minus service charges for the transactions) are deposited directly into your bank account.

    I stopped selling on Ebay when they started their policy of “PayPal ONLY” for payments . . . It is a ripoff and exposes people who use it to many of their abuses which are ALL in the interest of Ebay/PayPal to increase their profit line rather than provide service to their clientele . . .

    This is just another example: They hold your money while earning interest on it and have many millions on hold like that – every day . . . . They use any excuse to put the money on hold . . .

    They also STILL have money of mine, which is lost in the ether from a long time back now, and is NO help calling.Can we say ESL?????? blah blah blah..

    I have always believed that money talks, and it is ONLY by voting with your $$$ (in any currency – that’s for Dean….lol) that any of these businesses take note. The market place rules, and if you withhold YOUR business from places that support causes you cannot, THAT has to hurt them…

    I would immediately file a complaint with the California State Banking Department. I would then begin writing to everyone (particularly if you have any contacts at the Federal level) requesting an audit of Pay Pal. You want to ask whether anyone has reviewed Pay Pal for possible violations of Anti-Money Laundering regulations (if violations are found the fines can be in the millions).

      These investigations usually start high up…if we could get a congressman to start asking for a paypal investigation I’m sure they’d find this has been a playground for terror financing.
