    I can’t get around the “logic” of destroying these cars. Don’t they realize that not everyone can afford to buy a new car, even with the govt. welfare of Cash for Clunkers? I save a lot of money buying parts and doing the work myself.

    Credit is non-existent, these new car loans more than likely will not get approved by any bank these days, hence the cars needing to be destroyed within 48 hours. Dumbasses who thought they were getting something for free are out a new car, and out their old car, and more than likely be stuck with the payments still for their car that was destroyed.

    And, aren’t the dealers saying that they aren’t getting the government rebates yet? They never will, because that money is going into an elitist’s pocket.

    Remember the rules from the stimulus plan? There are ALWAYS strings attached to government money.

    This program is pure idiocy. If you are driving a rustbucket, blue smoke-belching, 70′s era jalopy its doubtful you could afford a new car even with these rebates. Does Obama really beleive Trailer Park Jethro is trading in his ’72 smoke-belching Pinto for a brand new hybrid car?

    The video is just plain sad to see. But it looks like my next car with be a Volvo cuz that is one TOUGH engine.
