Domestic Terror: Bomb Threats Called Into Planned Tea Party Event

On the eve of what organizers call a ‘Big Ol’ TEA Party’, the Washington, D.C., offices of FreedomWorks were evacuated by DC Metro police on Friday afternoon after the conservative organization reported to authorities at 3:42 pm ET that it had received a bomb threat.

At 4:48 pm ET, the organization put out a Twitter message saying that it turned out to be a false alarm but the organization is not happy about the disruption.

DavisMy colleague, ABC News’ Teddy Davis has the story:

Tens of thousands of anti-big government activists are expected in Washington on Saturday as part of a “March on Washington” being organized by FreedomWorks, a conservative group headed by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas.

A FreedomWorks staffer told ABC News that the organization’s offices at 601 Pennsylvania Avenue were evacuated on Friday afternoon by DC Metro Police because of a bomb scare.

DC Metro police has confirmed to ABC News’ Jason Ryan that the DC Metro police had, indeed, evacuated the organization’s offices after being told by the organization that it had received a bomb threat.

The threat came when a man called the FreedomWorks main line and told the organization’s female receptionist: “I put a bomb in your building, witch.”

The FreedomWorks staffer who spoke with ABC News said that the organization has received multiple threats but that for some reason, the DC Metro police thought that this one was credible enough to evacuate the building.

The FreedomWorks staffer did not fear for his safety but worried that it was an effort to disrupt the organization’s ability to round up activists in advance of tomorrow’s “March on Washington” which is expected to bring tens of thousands of activists to the nation’s capital.

The FreedomWorks staffers says that 50 volunteers were forced to leave the office where they were making calls encouraging people to come to tomorrow’s event.

Affirmative! Tiny Honduras ousted their Zero and told Hillary and Obamunik to take a hike when they attempted to interfere and threaten … as far as what’s being reported anyway. Which reminds me … I thought this was a beef Dumbocrats had with W concerning nation-building and interfering with other countries. It seems that Obamunik only wants to meddle (like a typical thug) with Israel and places like Honduras. Honduras stood by their principles and Constitution. God help us if we don’t.

We’ll be lucky if it stops at bomb threats. I would not be suprised if Obongo ordered armed thugs to gun down the patriots when they march on Saturday. That’s what good ol’ Adolf would do, and Obongo is nothing more than Adolf-with-a-tan.

I’ll bet this can be linked back to Rambutt Emanuel, then to the Man himself. He is not anything near presidential and his filthy hands all over a lot of things … our first Thug in Chief. What a disgrace this presidency is! Obamunik makes W look like the 2nd coming of Washington.

I hope there are a number of people at the rally with video cameras and video any Left Wing Communist thugs, then they should be told if they cause any problems they will have a bounty put on their heads.

The videos should then be put on TV (most likely only Fox will show them) and identify the perps.

I don’t know Bobby. Might be curious to peek into Kos just to see what he may say or do. I wouldn’t wish violence on anyone but nothing says we can’t make them sweat. Fear works pretty good too.

Understood, Walt. But, the mistake they are making is that they, leftist liberals, are in the majority. The ‘crazed maniacs’ awoke from slumber when Code Pink and Black Bloc Anarchists, among others, made the mistake of going after veterans and the symbols and monuments to their sacrifice. Groups such as GOE, EaglesUP, and others too numerous to mention sprung up virtually overnight. How could someone be so stupid as to not realize the sheer numbers of veterans, active service personnel (who VOLUNTEERED), and the extension of relatives of these men and women who stand with them? … not to mention those who have no such affiliation with military personnel, but BELIEVE in them, our cause (this country), and, most importantly, the CONSTITUTION. Time and again I’ve read of protests (our protests) being applauded by passers-by more numerous than those actually rallying. The Silent Majority stood by during anti-war protests of VietNam because we were torn as a result of polichickens playing with the lives of our military men and women, but more importantly because we accorded them the ‘right’ to protest. The Silent Majority has been scoffed at as not existing, hence it’s easy for a Dumbocrat polichicken to declare that the ‘majority’ of Americans are with them. That is not just a lie, but a severe miscalculation. WE also have the right to protest and to a redress of grievances and will be silent no more. We will not only speak out but will be ACTIVEly engaged. If Washington, and all legislators, do not recognize US, it will another huge miscalculation in a series of such miscalculations. Americans have always wanted to be just ‘good ‘ol boys’ who want to ‘live and let live’ and be left the fuck alone. Me, you, nor anyone else likes to grabbed physically … literally or figuratively.

Well said Bobby and I agree with you. I was stationed in CA in the late 60′s and almost got swooped up in the “Liberal Euphroia” when I suddenly realized there were communist involved and “Liberal” was a code word to cover their tracks. They used all the right phrases to suck in the gullible. I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to politics since we had the Vietnam war to worry about. Reagan was the first President I was eligible to vote for and did vote for him, although registered as an Independent. I retired from the USAF after 25 years in 1979. In the Mid 80′s I hosted a talk show for 2 years. I learned a lot from that experience. My favorite subject in and since high school is American History. I have two copies of the constitution, 1 print, 1 on puter, the Declaration and the Federalist Papers and I keep up on current events now. I will always stand with these documents, and I gave my Oath to do so.

I don’t buy the Left’s terms Liberal or Progressive. They are Marxist through and through including the President and much of his staff.
