Four Reasons To Expect A Democratic Meltdown In 2010

Reuters Blog:

A Democratic meltdown next year? Washington is abuzz with speculation by prominent political handicappers such as Charlie Cook and Stuart Rothenberg. Republican hopes for a huge congressional comeback in the 2010 midterm elections rest on three pillars:

1) History.
Since the start of World War Two, the president’s party has lost an average of 28 House and 4 Senate seats in the midterms. Computer-aided gerrymandering, though, has made incumbents tougher to knock off in the House.

2) Policy. Concerns about ObamaCare — too much government spending scares independents, too little spooks seniors — may help turn 2010 into a 1994 replay. What’s more, cap-and-trade makes Congress appear more interested in imposing new economic costs than creating jobs. Current congressional approval ratings hover around the high 20s, while a new Rasmussen poll shows Republicans hold a 44-37 lead on a generic midterm ballot.

3) The economy. This is the most important of the three. As long as the recession continues, the biggest Obamacrat achievement — the stimulus –- risks looking impotent and a waste of $800 billion. At the same time, healthcare, energy and financial reform almost look like distractions. What’s more, high unemployment – now at 9.7 percent vs. 7.6 percent in January — is driving down President Obama’s approval rating. It’s fallen from 61 percent to 53 percent during the past three months, according to RealClearPolitics. And a president’s approval rating may be the single most important indicator of how his party fares in a midterm election.

But lately some GOPers have been wondering whether the economy might start working against their political fortunes. Economists to whom those on the right pay close attention — Brian Wesbury of First Trust Advisors, Michael Darda of MKM Partners and Lawrence Kudlow of CNBC — have been forecasting a recovery.

And that recovery might look pretty strong initially. During the first quarter of the last 10 economic recoveries, real GDP has risen close to 6 percent on average. And both Wesbury and Darda see the economy growing at least four percent next year. The worry for Republicans is that the Obamacrats will plausibly be able to take credit for both avoiding a depression and igniting the subsequent turnaround. (Ben Bernanke and the Fed kind of get lost in the White House narrative.)

But abstract GDP figures aren’t as important as the unemployment rate. As long as that number is at the highest levels in a generation, Americans are likely to feel anxious about the broad economy and their place in it. Here are four economic scenarios and their political impact:

1) The Double Dip. The worst of all worlds for Dems. The economy slips back into recession next year, pushing the unemployment rate to at least a post-WWII high of 10.8 percent. Economist Nouriel Roubini says that weak labor markets, weak banks, weak consumers, weak profits and weak trade create a strong risk of just such a “W-shaped” scenario. If so, not only does John Boehner maybe take back the gavel from Nancy Pelosi, but Hillary Clinton and Russ Feingold start looking for reasons to visit Iowa and New Hampshire. Probability: 10 percent

2) The Big Muddle. The economy keeps growing, but only in the 2 to 3 percent range. And that wouldn’t generate many new jobs. IHS Global Insight, for instance, predicts GDP growth of 1.8 percent with unemployment averaging 10 percent next year (and 9.4 percent in 2011). This is also where the Federal Reserve lands. The Fed forecasts growth of between 2.5 and 3 percent with unemployment declining “only gradually.” In this case, expect greater-than-average Dem losses. Harry Reid might get voted out by his fellow Nevadans while Pelosi might get the boot from fellow Dems. Probability: 50 percent.

3) The Big Bounce. A combination of Fed stimulus, government spending and inventory restocking by companies produces growth of 4 percent or more. But even so, unemployment remains twice as high as what Americans have become accustomed to during the past generation. Economists at JPMorgan calculate that 4 percent growth would translate into an average of 200,000 new jobs a month next year. And if the unemployment rate ends this year at close to 10 percent, that level of job creation would only bring it down to 9.5 percent or so. Democratic losses are limited to the historical average give or take. Probability: 35 percent

4) The Obama Boom. It’s 1983-84 all over again. The economy soars as fast as it fell. Unemployment drops below 8 percent by Election Day as formerly terrified employers realize they cut too many workers during the recession. Dems have limited losses. Talk of a third party increases. Probability: 5 percent.

Bottom line: Unlike the Reagan boom, neither taxes nor interest rates look to be going lower anytime soon. And economies after financial crises tend to be slow growers. So it’s hard to envision a likely economic scenario without a jobless recovery in 2010. And as economic analyst Ed Yardeni points out, “The industries that have cut back the most (durable goods manufacturing, construction, and retail) are inherently labor intensive, and they are likely to remain in intensive care for quite a while.”

Passing a popular healthcare bill would certainly boost Democratic fortunes. But history and the economy would suggest that 2010 will be a big Republican year.

These are just four more nails in the Coffin Obama is assembling for America!
We cannot wait until the 2010 elections. After hearing all this and how Obama spoke to the 9th graders before the media was opened up to his speech, and now, hearing how he has changed the rules of engagement in Afghanistan, we need to exercise our Constitutional right and get this lame bastard jerk out of office. I lost friends in Vietnam & a very dear family member in Fallujah. This Has Got To Stop!! ! ! !
We must put an end to the Communist regime that is taking over America and it should start with the lying Muslim PIG that is in the Oval Office, and work our way down….. What will it take before “We the People” honor or brave heroes gone by that fought to make America the greatest nation in the world?

Pray the American people have wised up since last November. The American people keep coming back to the Dems when history has proven time and time again the Dems suck.

    5) The internet-media and Glenn Beck continue to pound this administration into the ground, educating the populace on matters not covered by the MSM, creating a very large, angry voting mass intent on removing the power-broker libs from office, and dis-allowing the usurper-in-chief from being able to shove un-read bills through the senate and house.

Oh, and Reid and Pelosi get burned at the political stake.
Break out the hot dogs and marshmellows boys and girls!

Forget the political stake, get a real one.

  • http://hyperinflation-watch.blogspot.com/ ZenDraken

    5) The complete economic meltdown. Between dropping tax revenues, insane government spending, and decreasing purchases of Treasuries by the Chinese, the only option left is to print money. Massive amounts of money. The dollar collapses, inflation skyrockets to hyperinflation, a loaf of bread costs $10,000 one week, and $100,000 the next. Obama declares a national emergency, and takes maximum advantage of the crisis to implement vast government control over all citizens. Elections are permanently suspended, leaving the Donks as the de-facto one party.

Massive rioting ensues. Martial Law fails as large numbers of the military, law enforcement, and veterans adhere to their Oath to support and defend the Constitution, and refuse to obey orders from Obama. High level military officers organize a coup and arrest Obama, Biden, Pelosi, and Reid, as well as numerous others, as domestic enemies of the Constitution.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, together with House Minority Leader Boehner, organize a temporary administration. They implement policies to quell rioting, and distribute aid as necessity and resources permit. The Fed is abolished and the value of the dollar is tied to (Gold? Real estate? Oil? Something tangible anyway.), halting hyperinflation. The military enforces a strict adherence to the Constitution, as the economy starts to recover, the people start rebuilding, and new elections are held.

And the Democrats, every single one of them, are thrown out of Congress and the White House. Forevah.

Can anybody shut McCain up!?! The Libs must just smile at his antics. He is a “good Man” but his refusal to get his hands dirty makes him out to be a bad man. Civility is a good thing but damn, I don’t want to “reach across the aisle” to these jackasses. I want to beat them into obscurity. Compromise just means that we continue to move la-de-da down the same path to destruction. Get the freakin’ RINO’s out of there, grow a pair, and do the people’s business of protecting our Consititutional freedom. That means saying not only “no” from time to time but “Hell no”. C’mon!!! 2010 is coming. I want these people bounced out on their collective behinds. :???:

We need to start a list in every state of people that need to be OUT in 2010.

We also need to encourage good people to run for office. Hell, with the unemployment rate, I’m sure we can find some great business people to throw their name in the hat.

well people, this is all fine and dandy, but the True Americans better hurry and start winning seats because if this keeps up, we will become the NAU (North American Union) very soon and then what, the Constitution wont mean shit, obama will become the head dictator of the NAU, etc etc….why do you think obama is trying to completely destroy America financially????to force us into this NAU. Why do you think he is taking a HEAD seat in the UN? (thats never been done before by ANY US President) ….things are occurring at an astronomical pace and if people do not act and remove these thieves in our office and replace them with TRUE Americans, then the country as we know it, is over. Think about that for a bit while you watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLcpp9ysivc&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcitizenwells%2Ewordpress%2Ecom%2F2009%2F09%2F09%2Fjudge%2Ddavid%2Dcarter%2Dorly%2Dtaitz%2Dlawsuit%2Dtuesday%2Dseptember%2D8%2D2009%2Dconcerned%2Dveterans%2Da&feature=player_embedded#t=592

The narcissistic fraud’s ego is getting the best of him. It is customary for the ambassador to the UN to assume the rotating presidency the UN security council, but zero wants to do it. But the timing of the release on Sept. 7th of the 2009 Trade and Development report to coincide with the US holding of the head of the UN Sec. Council is no coincidence. The UN is looking to establish global control and wants the US to relinquish our dollar.

They can try but they will fail… Partisanship will only take them so far…

    Titanic Fall of Socialism

After almost 70 years of creeping socialism in the United States, it is now poised at the precipice of disaster. With radicals controlling Congress as well as the White House, they still can’t seem to close the deal. After ramming through two Major League wasteful bills, they are attempting to pass the most sweeping socialist legislation since the founding of this country – a Nationalized HealthCare System. Irrespective of the fact that nationalized healthcare has never worked to the need or expectation in any country in the world, the radicals running our government has made a “Custer Decision” they will pass this legislation or fall on their swords.

From its meager but suspicious beginning during FDR’s administration, socialism began to flower in the middle 60’s with Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty” legislation as well as Medicare/Medicaid in an attempt to bring more and more people under the heroin-like influence of welfare, lately termed as entitlements to make it more palatable to the liberals and their lemming-like followers. Now socialism is fully bearing its fruit; the absolutely intolerable federal deficit, punitive taxes on individuals and small businesses as well as causing the massive migration of US jobs overseas because entrepreneurs are being punished for creating jobs and wealth here.

Socialists, in their rush to full government control, have gone “A Bridge Too Far” with the current crop of bought and paid for politicians. They have made a very strategic mistake in moving things too far and too fast. The socialists themselves have forgotten the generational principles their founders set forth in the late 1800’s; to move socialism one step at a time. The big money socialist handlers have become far too greedy and impatient trying to place the yoke around America’s neck to pull the wagon with no wheels. Freidrich Engels and Karl Marx are rolling in their graves right now at the insolence and stupidity of their great-grandsons and great-granddaughters.

Unlike past generations of socialists, this generation has moved with such speed and audacity it has awakened the American population; a very formidable enemy and ultimately the victor. Due to their insolence and total disregard for the American voter, Americans of multiple parties and ethnicity, are quickly solidifying as fiscal conservatives at a rate not seen since the bombing of Pearl Harbor. People are looking up from their jobs and families and not liking what they see. So much so, they are turning out in droves to express their anger at people they voted for and trusted to act in a manner consistent with their values.

Career politicians, who have long since lost any ties with their states or constituents, have sold their souls, wagered your health and wealth and ultimately enslaved your grandchildren for their own greedy purpose. On top of that, they are extremely arrogant about what they are doing and some have even proudly boasted they will go against their constituents to vote for what is going to be “good for them”. How could they possibly know what is good for each and every citizen if they are not personally asking them? How could they know what their needs are when they never get out and ask them? This continued abject arrogance and stupidity is bringing shame on the American system of politics and similar to the governments of Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia. Congress has long since past being “Of and for the People” and are publically stating only they know what is good for the country.

After the August recess, most of the liberal politicians will return to Congress with new vim and vigor to pass this legislation regardless of what America is saying, thus sealing their fate. Blue dog Democrats will suffer the most as a result of this healthcare debacle. If they vote with their party and in favor of this legislation, their constituents will vote a lot of them out of office. If they do not vote against this, their party leaders have threatened blackmail by supporting and running new candidates against them in their state primaries. The ultra-radical left of the Democratic Party has painted the whole party into a very small corner with no way out.

Once Congress passes Nationalized HealthCare, they will become more emboldened to pass more spending legislation, driving the National Debt into regions never before fathomed by anyone as well as legislation intended to limit or outright deny our freedoms. At the end of President George Bush’s administration, the National Debt achieved a rather dubious goal; reaching $1 Trillion dollars. During 6 months of President Obama and a radical Congress, the National Debt was tripled and now rests at around $4 Trillion dollars. Congress has always been about spending, but the current crop of spendthrifts no longer care about the generational theft and are moving to ensure the financial failure of America through this unbridled spending. With this bunch of thieves in Congress, there will be no hope of recovery much less paying down any portion of the debt.

So, November 2, 2010 will become Judgment Day in America. It is on this day we the People will make our voices heard by casting our votes and a removing a large majority of these radicals who consort with the Devil in their quest for a Socialist America. There is no expectation for a 100% turnover, because the real radical sections of our country who would have voted for Adolph Hitler if he promised them entitlements, will continue to vote for the current crop of slave-masters and put back in office. We will change the face of Congress by electing fiscal conservatives instead of representatives who wish to maintain power through wasteful and fraudulent entitlement programs.

On January 20th 2011, our government will take on a new look and Barack Hussein Obama will become not just a lame duck president, but a double amputee. For the remainder of his administration, he will attempt to regain his composure with the American people, but fail miserably. He will leave dishonored after one term, as was Jimmie Carter and will wander the winds hawking his “Memoirs” to a very small and out of touch audience, building houses for Habitat for Humanity and trying to establish a “Legacy”. But he already has a legacy – the ship’s captain who steered full speed toward the iceberg – the American people.

Liberals have always coveted the One Ring, and wanted nothing more than to seize it, and with the greatest of good intentions, to use it’s power to transform the world into their vision of utopia.

Their flaw is their naivete. They never understood that power corrupts, and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. They never understood that good intentions are no protection from the corruption of power.

For the moment, they have the power to Rule Them All. But their lust for power has corrupted them, and as a result it is inevitable that they will fall.

In Middle Earth, the One Ring could be destroyed by casting it into the fires of Mount Doom. In the real world, the One Ring cannot be destroyed, because the One Ring is itself the Lust For Power; an intangible that forever lurks in our shadows.

When this is over, whomever replaces the current Ruling Elite will also be tempted by the One Ring of power. It doesn’t matter if they are Democrats, Republicans, or any other affiliation. They will be tempted, because the Lust for Power is always there.

When this is over, we must remain vigilant and ensure that the new Ruling Elite do not work to accumulate more power, but that they work to support and defend the Constitution. We must ensure that new Ruling Elite will not work to make the world a utopia, but will work to support and defend the freedom of all Americans.
