Thank You, Joe Wilson

APTOPIX Health Care Heckling

North Star National:

I’d like to thank Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) for his calling President Obama a liar during his fake State of the Union address meant to salvage his failing health care plan.

Not because he was right on the substance of it or because he’s the first Republican not named Sarah Palin to show an ounce of spine against Obama, but because of the Democratic reaction he caused and what it reveals for all to see about who they really are and how they operate.

And, in turn, what we must do if we are to stop them from ramming their Orwellian nightmare of a society down our throats.

The Democrats have sunk to new lows of petulant name-calling, hypocritical double standard wielding, free speech censoring, and despicable race-baiting slander.

Here is what we have so far:

• Democrats voted to censure Wilson, as well as ban on the House floor any use of the words “liar,” “hypocrite,” “cowardly,” “intellectually dishonest,” and “giving aid and comfort to the enemy” in describing the President. They have blatantly trashed the First Amendment, censored free speech, and reached North Korea-like levels of blind worship of their “Dear Leader.” This isn’t just evil, it’s frighteningly cultish.

• They did this in spite of having openly booed President Bush at a real State of the Union address, which makes them total partisan hypocrites practicing double standards in the extreme. (Oops, I just violated House rules. Come arrest me, Nazi Pelosi. Oops, did it again.)

• Lastly, and worst, the Democrats fell back on their old standby – the race card. They made their usual tired and fraudulent comparison of anyone too white and insufficiently liberal as Klansmen, with Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) hysterically claiming that unless Wilson was censured we’d all don sheets and hoods and start burning crosses.**

(**The only ones practicing bigotry here are the Democrats who would so frivolously throw around such vicious smears. And the only organization today that practices hatred for another race is the Congressional Black Caucus. Their delusional belief that a racial conspiracy hides behind every non-liberal white face is every bit the equal of the disgusting caricatures that the Klan used to propagate.

I don’t know why they’d want to sink to the same level of those over whom they once had moral superiority, but they have. And this is a very dangerous weapon to so recklessly wield; between the anger it will stoke amongst like-minded blacks and the righteous anger of a white population outraged at having been so wrongly defamed, they might well inadvertently re-ignite the very racial conflict that they claim to abhor, is now in the past, and only exists in their victimhood-addled minds.)

All of that unhinged, childish, hateful bluster – for what? A mere two words from one person? That’s enough to bring their entire agenda of wall-to-wall government control down? That’s so much a threat to their plans that it has caused them to have come completely unraveled? That’s enough for them to start playing with fire by throwing the race card around?

Clearly, the Democrats intend to achieve their totalitarian delusions of grandeur by any means necessary. That’s why Obama going before Congress and the nation and telling blatant falsehoods about the health care bill isn’t wrong to them – they measure by the ends, not the means. So long as the end is advancing the implementation of their liberal control freakery, anything goes, from temporarily bamboozling the people long enough to pass a bill to smearing the one who momentarily got in their way (and indirectly, everyone who agrees with him). By the same token, anything or anyone who opposes or blocks that end – or advances the implementation of Constitutional conservatism – is automatically evil and to be destroyed no matter what it takes.

But at the same time, such tactics expose a very real vulnerability and fear (not to mention display a spoiled bratty-ness wholly unsuitable to the high offices they hold). If Democrats have to go this far over two measly words, it suggests that their foundation is weak and what they claim is a strong tower is in fact a house of cards, ready to be toppled and come crumbling down with the smallest push at the right point. Their censorship and smearing is simply an attempt to ensure that push cannot happen, by direct prevention and intimidation respectively.

This indication that the Democrats’ plans cannot withstand scrutiny, combined with their having made the moral high ground available to be seized through such a ridiculous and empty smear, should motivate their opponents to take the initiative. Lord knows that the Democrats have and will continue into perpetuity beating Republicans and conservatives over the head with the race card. The only chance of ever stopping it is to fight this ugly battle once and for all, and Wilson is as good a opening skirmish as any.

Unless and until the Republicans find a way to ascend and hold the moral high ground, and make the baseless and frivolous accusing of racism as publicly shameful and politically incorrect as practicing it, they’ll forever be needlessly kept on the defensive by Democrats. The gutless, spineless, cowardly silence that has come to be a Republican hallmark on this issue (and most others) must be replaced by a solid wall of resolution in the face of such hate. It must be as calmly and eloquently defeated as Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas defeated his enemies with a marvelous heartfelt cry in his confirmation hearing.

The same principle goes for defeating Obama’s health care and cap-and-trade bills, both of which are merely thinly-disguised vehicles for government control of every last aspect and detail of our lives. This attempt to reverse the outcome of the Cold War and turn America into a new Soviet Union must be equally resolutely defeated.

If two words from one Representative are enough to stagger Democrats this badly, then let a veritable tsunami of well-thought, simple yet profound words fill the Capitol and rock their world.

When the socialists start screaming and name calling it means they are on defense. Now is the time to let them have it, push them harder, don’t let up. We have forward momentum don’t slow down.
