Is that the new Active logo? Awesome. “Weapons”. :gun:  :gun:  :gun:  :gun:     :gun:   :gun:

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      Yes, it is.

  • Matt in Georgia

It’s crooked …. and it looks like the California Angels met the KKK, met Stormfront.org, met California Choppers, met some teen age World of Warcraft champion, met my kids pre-school class …

    • Independent

Stormfront uses Odins Cross. Not that I would ever go to that site.

    • Babs

      Whats wrong with Stormfront?

    • Sgsaur

You mean other than the fact that they’re white separatists who revere Adolph Hitler and deny the Holocaust? That’s not what Active is about – or if it is, count me out.

  • http://homemadesin.typepad.com/homemade_sin/ James Hooker “The Anti-Diddy”

I guess it´s open coments on the logo time. I like the circle – maybe in blue. It would go well with the red ¨A¨ with the white background. The rest is way too ¨Iron Cross¨ I´m not sure we need that image. My 2 ¢

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

It’s a traditional Viking Cross, which has nothing to do with an Iron Cross. I don’t make my statements based on defensive thinking, so I’m not going to let the chosen design be ruled by the critical statements of enemies looking to make trouble. There is no fear in the design (in fact, it is – with full precision – a design utilized by some of the greatest warriors in human history) and that’s one thing I like about it.

The other logo isn’t going anywhere, this logo is for other purposes. It is ACTIVE’s Action Logo.

And good call on the blue, as it will be on blue t-shirts.

Tune in to “The Jihadi Killer Hour” tonight. More will be revealed.

    • http://homemadesin.typepad.com/homemade_sin/ James Hooker “The Anti-Diddy”

Just googled images of viking cross and you´re right. Fuck ´em.

    • http://statins.org Imabirther

I Think God Should be linked to Wisdom and
Strength linked to weapons, as in God gives wisdom and thru guns comes strength…

    • http://statins.org Imabirther

      God at the top
      Wisdom at the bottom
      Strength to the left
      Guns on the right

    • Wowster

Each individual will derive their own interpretation of the image based on his/her everyday experiences, knowledge of past histories and which side of the political spectrum they espouse to. I personally think Active will spend far too much time explaining and defending the symbolism derived from the Vikings (who by the way raped and pillage during their reign), and that it is not the “Iron Cross”, identified with the Nazi’s (who tried to exterminate an entire race amongst other horrific atrocities in pursuit of world dominance.)

In my humble opinion, this is a lose-lose situation.

We talk about patriotism, and the daily assaults on our Constitution, and the direction that the elected elite our leading the country. I personally would rather be educating those that challenge the logo for Active…

…That it is a reflection of; an association with; and in the spirit; of the bravest and smartest men ever to be in the presence of God, our Founding Fathers, who provided us with the greatest documents next to the Holy Bible, our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, of which provide us the Freedoms and Liberties that we are so desperately trying to hold on to.

For what the people of this country really need is an education on early U.S. History and why this country is unique and that there is no other country on the face of this earth that affords it’s citizens the above fore-mentioned.

I personally think you missed the mark but in the end it is the underlying message that is important. The movement will continue, carry on!

  • Jerry Mander

And if that’s not the new ACTIVE logo, let me know what it is please!

  • http://www.usfamily.net/web/nightrider Wild Phil

I don’t know much about designs but the message of God on top and Strength and Wisdom and Weapons I totally agree with. Hey Pat, I say if the Logo is what you are looking for, that one looks great, Like I said it’s the message that is the important part.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      Wisdom.

  • YERMOM

I might consider changing weapons to country. Strength kinda covers weapons.

From a design perspective. I would probably make the Strength and the Wisdom sections of the cross connect the same way as the other two and remove the weird black shape behind the A or completely fill it in with black. As it is; it is distracting.

    overall I like it.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

The weird shape is just where the planks meet, and for a variety of reasons, (an axe-head being created is among them) the Vikings broke up the cross above and below that, so we kept their design technique. The whole thing is meant to indicate motion; the designer can weigh in more on that. That element, plus the asymmetrical planks of the cross, are taken from the original design ideas of the world’s fiercest Christian warriors. This logo carries their legacy forward.

The Viking Cross is considered the primary symbol of the era when Christianity gained its firm footing in the world.

    • http://homemadesin.typepad.com/homemade_sin/ James Hooker “The Anti-Diddy”

The black behind the ¨A¨ plainly, to my eye, makes it a double bladed war axe head. That works for me – get´s ´em coming AND going!

    • YERMOM

now that you explained it; it makes more sense.

  • Jim Weeb

    sweet, leave it alone!

    • Hawkerdriver (Pisson the Koran)

      YEP !

  • Medaton

I wish that ‘COUNTRY’ had been the bottom word. But… that is just me.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

The words address the four essential elements for victory in war.

    • SgtJenz

The entire symbol represents “COUNTRY.” The words “GOD”, “STRENGTH”, “WISDOM”, “WEAPONS” are the specifics of the preservation and the continuation of COUNTRY.

The symbol is perfect, in my humble opinion.

  • http://HBCIndy.com Dr. Jerry

    It’s good!

  • kim clift

I really like it Pat especially God and Weapons

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

  • Bobby E

Not a criticism, but an observation as it relates to Pat’s statement above in which he says “a design utilized by some of the greatest warriors in human history”: the design has elements similar to those used by the Knights Templar and in some Native American symbols … which I see as positives and not negatives.

That clip was like viewing a much darker and sinister side of Braveheart. I look forward to watching this film.

I like, a lot. Just wish it had some purple.
    (spiritually purple =victory)

Can you make the gray bright purple?

  • ground wizard

if i wear this logo will i be stoned and flogged as a “ADULTRESS” ?

    • GRIZZ

only if you beg GW

  • Post Modern Thor

A very eye-catching and thought provoking logo. Well done! Having read the comments up until this reply, I appreciate the historical elements encapsulated in the overall symbolism of this Active logo. On a design front, may I suggest that a sense of depth and three dimension be incorporated into the logo.

  • Independent

How about Honor instead of Weapons?

Push the circle out so it surrounds the cross. Maybe make the Color of the Circle Gold.

The color scheme comes across as a Blackwater copy. Maybe play around on a different color scheme.
Although this could be just one of many color patterns.

The Cross element is great. All of history’s Crosses have been powerful symbols of a higher power and life force

You can create 3 or 4 variations but this is a good foundation

    • Threezo

I agree with the “honor” instead of “weapons” observation… “Weapons” just seems out of place when put with the other three.

    • Political.fish

      Pussies.

    • kim clift

Weapons and God are our only option in securing Freedom.

    • Independent

A soldier or member of an organization without Honor is simply either a mercenary/assasin or a collection of rogues. The Founding Fathers were very Honorable men.

      Fish

Its got nothing to do with tough guy syndrome. One can go out a blast Bolsheviks by the hundreds and go and still be a reader of classic novels or play a game of chess.

Ruthlessness and Intelligence do not have to be exclusive of one another

I think my other recommendations about appearance are spot on

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

There’s no necessity to add “honor” when “God” already rides atop.

    • Independent

How about the other recommendations vis a vi bringing the circle inside to the outside and making it Gold colored?

  • PatriotofPast

Just a thought Pat… Could a person order a Tee, or Sweatshirt with the Logo GOD-GUNS-FAMILY-FREEDOM ?
As Long as America is FREE… Which scares the HELL out of alot of Third World Countries.
    God Bless…

  • http://www.accdf.com toldyouso

Probably unintentional, but a lot of people are coming across like pussies. Weapons aren’t only guns. Alinski theory is a weapon. Thinking of things in one dimension is naive.

Not trying to be harsh, but man alive people. I can’t believe the reactions.

    • http://www.accdf.com toldyouso

and i think the logo is great by the way. Says what active represents.

  • GRIZZ

Could you not fit “Kill em all,God will sort em out” in there somewhere?

    • kim clift

LMAO, I like it Grizz :gun: !

  • dadeo

It is bold and thought provoking. In that way, I like it a lot.

  • westcoastgirl

I like it. I want a T-shirt, sweatshirt and bumper sticker for my car.

  • Bret Palmer (AMERIKAN ZOMBIE)

Lets not forget People, this is for America.. It’s to Represent our Movement in a symbol & “GOD”, “STRENGTH”, “WISDOM”, “WEAPONS” upon the Viking Cross and the era it represents.. That era is again today.. We are soldiers in this modern Movement.. To reclaim America & The Principles it took to FIGHT to create this Great Nation.. “GOD”, “STRENGTH”, “WISDOM”, “WEAPONS”
Now we should use them to reclaim it & Defend..
I Love the the Viking Cross.. It has roots & History,, BRILLIANT!!!

  • http://www.dirtydozensbunker.com Sanders

    I like it.

  • aboutTObegin

awesome Pat, well done on the design!!! two thumbs up from the middle east!

    -aTb

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      Thank you. Godspeed.

  • http://www.beethovenwasblack.com flyingcow

Agree w/the suggestion that you replace “Weapons” w/”Country” on the bottom arm of your logo–
Also, agree with posters’ comments about adopting a more symmetrical design–the crooked arms of your proposed design look amateurish (IMHO), or crooked, or, simply not well-balanced–I think the overall 4 arm design is a good idea for your logo, but please think about refining it into something w/4 uniform (i.e., matching) arms for the logo…

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

The reasons for the design choices you cite have already been given.

  • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Meet Alyssa G., the designer. In addition to the many accomplishments noted on her abbreviated Twitter bio, she’s done graphic design for 9 years.

  • Shooter

I think it’s a great Logo/Brand with much thought behind it, and that thought and direction are put forth and properly displayed.
Black on blue will also say a lot as blue is a color of confidence, and black and red are colors of rock solid power base and definitive action. And, by the way, have any of you noticed the stark contrast that it brings over the Obama (pussy, wimp, sneaky) Logo. Pat did NOT mangle the American Flag and Seal to put this together. This Logo is upright and powerful and I like it! GOOD Job Pat!

    • Shooter

      Thanks Alyssa G. ! ! ! !

  • Kirk

I especially like God listed at the top, in the place of honor, because without Him, there is no victory.

  • tlk

I like it but wish it looked more American. Also if you intend to embroider it on a small scale not sure if the lettering will hold up.

    • tlk

      I lied. I don’t like it.

      It’s abrasive and unoriginal.

  • http://ladycincinnatus.blogspot.com/ Lady Cincinnatus

I love the use of the Templar cross, but it needs to be red on white or blue on white. The black cross looks too much like a Nazi party cross and they were the National Socialist Party, which Active is decidedly not socialist…

  • http://heyitsjustablogman.blogspot.com/2009/10/communications-strategy-not.html Ted

I worked as a professional graphic designer for 15 years. I am afraid to say, the logo has some fundamental flaws. The elements are not separated sufficiently, and the colors/tones do not contrast sufficiently.

At small size, or at a distance it loses all detail.

    • http://deleted tedders

I agree completely with what Ted brings up. First thing I thought of was a poorly executed war merit medal from WWII Germany.

  • MinneSoCold

Here’s the inspiration of the logo. It’s from an ancient Viking Era runic inscription was found at a hillside in Handen, Sweeden.

    • copperpeony

      Thanks!!!! very interesting.

  • B. A.

I like the design. I think experimentation with colors may enhance it greatly.

  • PatriotofPast

    … A Blue Cross… Red Lettering… A White Circle around the “A” :?:

Red, White, Blue… That is American.

  • mike3481

Metaphorically speaking, there’s certainly no gray areas.

    :gun:

  • cold soldier

Pat, I love it. Sorry about all the criticism you are taking, but when you are a leader, it happens, you know that. Everyone has a better idea once they have a standard to compare theirs to, lest they be ridiculed themselves.
Luck favors the bold my friend.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      Thank you.

    • http://www.onetakemedia.net Matt

Armchair morons pop everywhere. You have my support! I like it!

      Soon.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Way before Christmas; no worries.

  • Buzz Bannister
    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Thanks for taking the time, Buzz, I appreciate it. Well done, but I’m committed to the chosen symbology in tandem with the chosen language.

  • copperpeony

I’m sure Pat has thought it through and through.

Plus I bet 99% of the people on this earth will not know all the significant nuances of this design and I’m sure the Vikings are not going mind.

    Good job Pat!!

    • copperpeony

Besides, when I first glanced at it, I had a vision of Sean Connery and the Knights of the round table plotting to save the kingdom.

  • http://twitter.com/RTHTGakaRoland Roland

    Good imagery :!:

Just a suggestion from the fan’s bleachers:

The ring or circle should look like metal to retain the Norse symbolism. Not only was the strong metal ring in many forms an important bit of early Norse technology, but was/is a symbol of and tool for joining items and people without compromising the basic nature of either the item or the individual person.

Not a bad bit of symbolism for Liberty Activists.

  • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Tip: If you’d like to see the image larger, just click on it.

  • Hawkerdriver (Pisson the Koran)

I like the “nazi look”.I don’t mean I like nazis either. It has a bit of an intimidating vibe to it.Rough and dark. The dark part I like too. Symbolizes what is comming to the Left.

    Leave it like it is.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

You make a good point. There is no Nazi symbolgy in the image, and if the Left wants to once again dishonestly apply the scarlet letter “N”, let them, because in so doing, they will once again expose themselves as the great deceivers that they are, so perpetually invested in character assassination as their chosen means of compensation for their ideologically intrinsic and therefor unavoidable inability to substantively argue any cultural, social or political issue of our time, or any time.

No matter what we believe, say or do, no matter what banner or symbol we march under, we will always be labeled by them as “Racists”, “Nazis”, “War Mongers”, “Baby Killers”,”Imperialists”. “Homophobes”, “Sexists”, “Rednecks’, “Inbreds”, “Country Bumpkins”,”Crazies”, “Gun Nuts”, “Terrorists”, “McVeighs”, “Religious Nuts”, “Christian Terrorists” and “Extremists”. These are the cheap words of cheap minds and cheap
characters. If you try to tailor your symbols, words or actions in such a manner as to deny the enemy his ability to falsely use these words against you, you will not only find that you have been unsuccessful, but you will also find that you have weakened yourself and marred your own character, because you will have surrendered to your fear.

  • Knighthawk

    Pat,
Thanks for keeping me motivated.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

You’re welcome, and thanks to all here.

  • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

We’re going to be keeping the above-published design as the final design.

    • SassySuz

      Looks good Pat

I didn’t think you would change it, a lot went into that I’m sure.

      good job!!

  • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Thanks, and again, thanks to Alyssa G, the designer.

  • tlk

Might want to make a call out to an art school or university art department..would give more options and a pool of talent rather than one narrow minded approach.

    • http://www.accdf.com toldyouso

    • neofish

You think the logo is “abrasive”? GOOD! That means the message is getting across.

If we aren’t even close to being “abrasive” with our ACTIVE-ities, we’re not doing it right.

    • tlk

Is the Constitution abrasive? I don’t think so.

We’re Americans not fucking street gang hoodlums.

Leave that up to the asswipe at the People’s Hood in DC and his gang…but leave me out.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

      So be it.

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Perhaps the fact that you’re a graphic artist who I didn’t consult on this, is coloring your opinion. I understand professional jealousy, but really, this is unseemly.

    • neofish

Yes, WE are Americans. The far-left call themselves Americans…even use the Constitution that they want to tear apart…to protect their free speech, and yet silence dissent; THEY are nothing BUT street gang hoodlums…

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.“
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCMDur9CDZ4

This is a GET IN YOUR FACE ACTIVE-ity. Nothing short of a Fight Fire With Fire TEN FOLD mentality is going to get us anywhere.

Wake up, get ACTIVE, or be left behind.

    • http://www.onetakemedia.net Matt

The truth is abrasive, get over it tlk.

  • Storm 0311

Some like minded group in England is useing the cross of St. George.
And they are worried about takeing back their country too.

Some SCA fighters went over seas a while ago and when the locals were yelling “Allah Akbar!” They starting yelling and laughing back “ODIN AKBAR!!”

Of course you don’t need sensitivity training until after the bullets are done flying…

I think TLK needs a reality check. Look in the mirror and see if you really belong here. Get with the program or go join Americorps. Or should that be Amerikorpse?

Teabagging is what you do when you PWN someone in Halo  The left may think the imagery is sexually conotated, but that’s because they’ve been rotting in a pit of licentiousness for decades – eg Polanski

  • Shooter

    Look People,
If we are a team/army/active group, then we had better stand together. This Logo was chosen with a goal in mind, the goal of United Power and that is what the Logo portrays. It is not up to us as foot soldiers to whine about personal idiosyncrasies to our leadership in such a petty manner. The Logo says what we are all about and it says it forcefully with strength and conviction. We as a group need to keep these things in mind with our cause at heart and our goal as the driving force. We all joined this group seeking leadership in our common goal and we all knew who that leader was/is.
Let’s put aside this issue that is side-stepping our thought process and show some solid support for our leader and drive this goal home for the benefit of our nation and its people who know what freedom is and was. (I wonder if Hitler shot anyone because they didn’t like his flag?)

Samuel Adams was considered quite abrasive by Tories and the British government, too.

The time for “touchy-feely” “be nice to them, reach across the aisle and compromise” is over.

It is that attitude that got us to where we are now.

  • http://www.onetakemedia.net Matt

I like it, I guess my only qualm is that the words seem to be a little hard to read because their color is so close to the cross color. :-)

Other than that I love it!

  • Double Tap

I hate it. But then my opinion and approval is not necessary. I am merely a soldier of the lowest rank in this war and therefore my opinion is not of interest nor is it wanted. If you hate it, suck it up and deal with it. If you love it, yippee. Now, lets move on please.

  • copperpeony

Sometimes the best design is very subtle, very simple and carries the biggest message.

I for one, looked at it atleast 20 times times, photoshopped it onto different color of t-shirts in different sizes and it works well except for black obviously ( unless there is a white border around it).

I really like it and I agree with Double Tap, lets move on. Once again, good job Pat.

  • Lock and Load

I like the connection to Vikings – that kind of no-holds barred, warrior mindset  I am also a graphic designer (15 years), and for what it’s worth at this point (not a whole lot, as Pat has given the stamp of approval) there should be a bit more contrast between the text and the axeheads, it is hard to read, and it is a central message of the logo that should not be lost.
That said from a designer’s point of view, politically speaking I agree with Pat 100% that we will never be accepted by anyone from the politically correct, America-destroying left, so criticism of the logo from a politically correct standpoint is bogus and self-defeating. Who gives a crap what our enemies think  :?: It should inspire fear/revulsion in them – it is the logo of the people who will be the instruments of their doom

  • maggie

    Pat
To sum up all the criticisms and critiques and suggestions that I’ve read in this thread: It needs more flowers!

Seriously though, in an age of new iconography eg ATT, Apple, Windows, Starbucks, McDonalds – It’s bloody perfect – Quickly recognizable from a distance, simple yet distinct, vector-based (scalable), a comfortable asymmetric aspect that bears the nature of a trademark. Kudos to Alyssa G.

    • vonKamrath

      Agreed :!:

Friends it’s here…The American Dream is over and a logo can not change that.

IF ” Honor” replaced “Weapons’ it should be under the overall descriptive heading of ‘ AMERICAN WEAPONS’over the cross containing GOD HONOR etc…
    imho of course

  • fingerpointer

    It’s alright.

  • ROF

I would have liked it better if it had been designed more around traditional American symbology as opposed to viking. None the less, I’ll still wear it with pride.

  • Xavier

    1) I would recommend moving the “A” from the center the the lower black triangle area below the gray ring. The shape of the “A” would fit nicely in the triangle shape.

    2) Center the top & bottom black triangles left to right to make it appear more balanced on the vertical axis.

    3) Make the structure in the center of the ring a well defined axe image. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axe

    4) Omit the word “weapons” since the axe graphic would represent the omitted word.

    5) Lower the word “God” so its visually balanced top to bottom in the top black triangle.

    6) Center the words “Strength” & “Wisdom” left to right in their respective black triangles

    7) Increase the vertical font size of the words “Strength” & “Wisdom” to balance the text color with the black triangle. (If necessary increase the font size of the word “God” to match or exceed).

    8) Add the chevron indentation that is present on the top black triangle on the remaining three, again I’d recommend that the chevron indentation be centered on the horizontal & vertical axis of the respective black triangles.

    9) Add a second text layer to the words to make them stand out from the black backgrounds they are on. (ex. like a white shadow).

Those are my recommendations, good luck with the development.

OK…so can I reproduce it and make it a decal on my vehicle?

    Yoohoo Pat?

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Just don’t fuck it up. We’re making bumper stickers and decals asap.

    • copperpeony

I would never fuck it up. Photoshop graphic artist here, but I’ll wait for your decals if you want.

I’m staying quiet on all of this, but I do want to say that everyones comments & opinions are appreciated

 Pat has already stated this isn’t still “in production,” this image is the FINAL design.

As he’s also said…”Tune in to “The Jihadi Killer Hour” tonight. More will be revealed.”

Too much talk….Get active and spread the word. Get ready now or suffer later.

The logo is perfect because it speaks Truth. It exemplifies what this country was founded upon by some men and women who defied tyranny.

If you look at that logo and read those words and it makes you uncomfortable, then this fight isn’t for you. If you read those words and pride swells inside of you, then you have acknowledged your duty to save this Land.

    Freedom isn’t free.

I’m there with the logo, looks great Pat. Maybe highlight the lettering a touch.  :gun:

  • Mike

Highlight the word God a little bit more, all power, strength, wisdom flow from his power. Right now His power is what our lives and our country need to stay free. We live in amazing times.

    Pat
You might want to dig into this. Glenn Beck had this person on his show (in the third hour)today. He is the Conservative Republican running for Congress. He’s not the Republican Candidate, that person has been endorsed by ACORN. Yep thats right ACORN….and Newt Gingrich hhhhmmmmmm.

The gop is in on the takeover or America!!!!!
They are not our friends, no political party is!!!!

The only politician that would help us is Reagan and he is dead.

When the shit hits the fan only brothers and sisters are your friend.

Burn it all. I can see a new federal capital in Kansas City.

Fuck the naysayers. Pat, you hit the nail square on the head. Kudos to the person who came up with the artwork, it exemplifies our struggle. You can’t beat back the enemies at our door with roses. You need guns and ammo. Lots of it. If you ever come to the East Coast to speak, we’ve got places for ya, and backyard gun ranges for you to tae out some agressions. If they don’t like what we’re saying, then fuck’em. If they complain about what we are saying, then we have hit a nerve. I say GO FOR THE THROAT. Do not stop, do not back down, never rest, never surrender!!

How about patches…It would look good on the “left shoulder” With a separate patch to go underneath with the state? An optional in OD and black?

    • http://patdollard.com Pat Dollard

Hardball’s on top of ordering those now. We’ll have 100 available, initially.

    • Hardball1911

I need a consensus on who wants a subdued patch, color patch, etc. (Colored are coming for sure…)

Do we want this on a round patch or square?

I say round about 4″ so it is legible. I am ordering at least one (1) subdued for gear that I own, consensus is what it is.

    • solomonpal

How about on a shield like 1st cav ?

    • solomonpal

At ant rate, I’ll take three color and 2 subdued.I imagine there will be a link to an order form?

    • Political.fish

Color for t-shirts, or non-uniform applications. Subdued for uniform.

    • Hardball1911

I will have some photoshops for folks to look at soon. Waiting on leadership to evaluate, then I will throw some out here. Probably in it’s own post.

  • POD1

I don’t care what the logo looks like,
as long as its the last thing a communist sees before I turn out his lights.

Can you create branding irons too? I’d like to keep one handy to brand a few Libs as we put them out to pasture.

Saw the patch example before it was removed. It should be a circle, not shield. Too much empty space. The design is better suited to the circle, or should be ‘stretched to fit’ the shield.

    • fromyonder

The Vikings carried ROUND shields. So, technically, we can all claim to be right….
