Go Go Sheriff Joe, Beat Back That Ugly Napolitano
Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he will continue his controversial “crime suppression operations” despite a Department of Homeland Security decision to strip him of authority to arrest suspected illegal immigrants based solely on their immigration status, the East Valley Tribune reports.
“It’s all politics,” says Arpaio, sheriff of Maricopa County.
Arpaio will still have the power to check the immigration status of people booked by his officers, but not the authority to conduct street patrols looking for illegal immigrants.
AZ_GT His “crime suppression operations” are saturation patrols in designated areas where deputies would find illegal immigrants by stopping them for traffic infractions and minor violations, the paper says.
The Department of Justice and other federal agencies are investigating the sheriff’s office on accusations of racial profiling during the operations, the paper says.
Arpaio said he will be able to still conduct the crime sweeps under state human smuggling laws and an obscure federal law that allows local police to arrest illegal immigrants.
A spokesman for the Phoenix office of ICE declined to comment until after pending agreements with the country are signed.

I’m the product of courageous and honorable italian immigrants just like Joe. It pisses me off that the woman who carries the name of my lineage (Napolitano) forgets this and collaborates with politicians to manipulate these laws. Exceptionally grave damage to national security. I am not unwashed, I have 33 years service. Janet needs to stand with her agents and let Joe do the job no one else has the courage or moral compass to perform.
It’a absolutely a deep and long standing idicator of demcrats, their stance, values and efforts to obstruct and discourage proper, pro-active national security posture. Their efforts repeatedly, over the decades has rememndously weakened, understaffed and underfunded enforcement of Immigration and Nationality Laws. If the American people are willfully blind to this, it is to their undoing.

A good example of a Sheriff that understands the responsibility to protect the citizens of his county. A County Sheriff’s department is governed by it’s state constitution, and has the authority to throw out the feds, and the state, if it so deems that they are overstepping their authority. Doesn’t Phoenix have the secound highest rate of kidnapping in the world? Ya it does.

Sheriff Joe is the man. I wish he were my boss. I think he needs to remind napolitano that the constitution does not recognize, nor make legal, any “federal law enforcemen agencies”…it only recognizes a sheriff as legitimate law enforcement. He should point this out, should she push the issue, or god forbid, move in some federal goons to enforce her will.
